    Peace.

Twisting the meaning of terms solves nothing, if you have faith you always have nothing irrespective if it turns out to be true, as without reason and evidence you are simply delusional in belief, the Qur'an requires reason, even demanding you "PROVE" each verse before accepting it as true, investigation and reasoned determination is required, and faith does not enter that conceptual paradym.

However from those who have replied I can see faith is the sole method used, repeating a faith mantra has no benefit to anyone.

Where there are hidden/unseen things, there will always be some faith.

We may even find that both Faith and Reason are complementary. We have to keep searching/analysing.
      GOD bless.
      Peace

Reason and faith are dichotomous and can be nothing else, faith is nothing reason everything. Religious minds are desperate fpr faith as they have no skill of reasoning, if they had they would not be religious.

why do you confuse religion and faith? Religion is religion, faith is faith.

Somebody who has faith is not desperate for anything, is not desperae for nothing at all.

As to somebody religious being deperate for faith, I do not know how such a person feels, but if he is desperate that is a bad start. Faith does not come from desperation nor from religion. Faith comes from intimate convictionand does not need applause, approval or corroboration from others sources.

And reson and faith are not contrary they are two different forms of knowledge, both very graifying provided the person who uses them is not deluded nor arrogant nor proud, just thankful for having those gifts in whatever measure she has them.

          Salaam

Faith ? How strong is your faith?

                      1-
For the umpteenth time Mrs. Youngston came to her pastor to tell him, "I'm so scared! Joe says he's going to kill me if I continue to come to your church."

"Yes, yes, my child," replied the pastor, more than a little tired of hearing this over and over. "I will continue to pray for you, Mrs. Youngston. Have faith - the Lord will watch over you."

"Oh yes, he has kept me safe thus far, only....."

                      "Only what, my child?"

"Well, now he says if I keep coming to your church, he's going to kill YOU!"

"Well, now," said the pastor, "Perhaps it's time to check out that little church on the other side of town."

                      2-

An elderly lady was well-known for her faith and for her boldness in talking about it. She would stand on her front porch and shout "PRAISE THE LORD!"

Next door to her lived an atheist who would get so angry at her proclamations he would shout, "There ain't no Lord!!"

Hard times set in on the elderly lady, and she prayed for GOD to send her some assistance. She stood on her porch and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD. GOD I NEED FOOD!! I AM HAVING A HARD TIME. PLEASE LORD, SEND ME SOME GROCERIES!!"

The next morning the lady went out on her porch and noted a large bag of groceries and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD."

The neighbor jumped from behind a bush and said, "Aha! I told you there was no Lord. I bought those groceries, God didn't."

The lady started jumping up and down and clapping her hands and said, "PRAISE THE LORD. He not only sent me groceries, but He made the devil pay for them. Praise the Lord!"
                      GOD bless.
                      Peace

You show the ssme bigotry against faith as other show for this or that religion, idiology or pet ideas. In fact it looks s if your ramblings against faith are the symptoms of the pet idea fixation.

We seem equal in "bigotry" it seems you are stubborn and have a complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from your own.

But I'm simply clearly exposing faith for what it is, a crutch used by people too lazy to reason to truth, or so indoctrinated in lies they cannot escape the black hole of their own dogmas.

Faith is exactly what I have explained, a simple examination of a dictionary will expose that reality Huruf, anyway hold onto you you baseless faiths, it's no skin off my nose.

You are ignorant. You are repeatedly ignoring etymological facts concerning the word faith. FAITH IS TRUST OR CONFIDENCE IN SOMETHING AND IT CAN BOTH BE SOMETHING WHICH IS TRUE BUT CAN ALSO BE SOMETHING FALSE.

And I have faith in this and there is evidence to support that position. Please defend yourself with logic.

It allegedly comes from fidere in Latin which means trust.

having trust or condidence in something does not mean it has any foundation "man of faith", a belief that is not based on proof, is without foundation.

Faith originates from mid-13c., "duty of fulfilling one's trust" it never had a foundation in truth only in blind belief without foundation
