Faith ? How strong is your faith?

    1-
For the umpteenth time Mrs. Youngston came to her pastor to tell him, "I'm so scared! Joe says he's going to kill me if I continue to come to your church."

"Yes, yes, my child," replied the pastor, more than a little tired of hearing this over and over. "I will continue to pray for you, Mrs. Youngston. Have faith - the Lord will watch over you."

"Oh yes, he has kept me safe thus far, only....."

    "Only what, my child?"

"Well, now he says if I keep coming to your church, he's going to kill YOU!"

"Well, now," said the pastor, "Perhaps it's time to check out that little church on the other side of town."

    2-

An elderly lady was well-known for her faith and for her boldness in talking about it. She would stand on her front porch and shout "PRAISE THE LORD!"

Next door to her lived an atheist who would get so angry at her proclamations he would shout, "There ain't no Lord!!"

Hard times set in on the elderly lady, and she prayed for GOD to send her some assistance. She stood on her porch and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD. GOD I NEED FOOD!! I AM HAVING A HARD TIME. PLEASE LORD, SEND ME SOME GROCERIES!!"

The next morning the lady went out on her porch and noted a large bag of groceries and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD."

The neighbor jumped from behind a bush and said, "Aha! I told you there was no Lord. I bought those groceries, God didn't."

The lady started jumping up and down and clapping her hands and said, "PRAISE THE LORD. He not only sent me groceries, but He made the devil pay for them. Praise the Lord!"
    GOD bless.
    Peace

Stop making absurd claims you are revealing yourself to be quite ignorant

Well one of is. If you have faith you have nothing of value, you do not have reasoned truth, any position to argue your corner, no evidence to support your position, so who is ignorant?

                I got it Abdun Nur

You show the ssme bigotry against faith as other show for this or that religion, idiology or pet ideas. In fact it looks s if your ramblings against faith are the symptoms of the pet idea fixation.

We seem equal in "bigotry" it seems you are stubborn and have a complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from your own.

But I'm simply clearly exposing faith for what it is, a crutch used by people too lazy to reason to truth, or so indoctrinated in lies they cannot escape the black hole of their own dogmas.

Faith is exactly what I have explained, a simple examination of a dictionary will expose that reality Huruf, anyway hold onto you you baseless faiths, it's no skin off my nose.

You are ignorant. You are repeatedly ignoring etymological facts concerning the word faith. FAITH IS TRUST OR CONFIDENCE IN SOMETHING AND IT CAN BOTH BE SOMETHING WHICH IS TRUE BUT CAN ALSO BE SOMETHING FALSE.

And I have faith in this and there is evidence to support that position. Please defend yourself with logic.

It allegedly comes from fidere in Latin which means trust.

                    Be well

having trust or condidence in something does not mean it has any foundation "man of faith", a belief that is not based on proof, is without foundation.

Faith originates from mid-13c., "duty of fulfilling one's trust" it never had a foundation in truth only in blind belief without foundation

Arrogance is what you do that you think you, not I, are the one entitled to know and decide what I think and what I feel.

I do not pretend that I know wht you feel or what you know, whereas you pose as the all knower better than the person itself.

For sure I will hld on to what I find convincing and not what y pontificate upon. I thought with one Pope is enough, but may be I am wrong and we need a few, like yourself.

On ghe other hand, to come up with a dictionnary to discuss a word which is considered of essence int he context of the Qur'an study, figure yourself, if you go by your dictionnary, we would not have anything to write on or stuy or investigate or learn further. May be you hold that your own ideas are the furthest anybody can go. You have, it seems, a lot of faith in that.

Salam and do not get upset, being like anybody else is not painful.

words have meaning Huruf, you don't like the meaning, you call me a bigot, a bigot means to be stubborn and have a complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion, if I claim to know you through that insult, i merely returned what you stated.

No, not t all. Youhve from the beginning making or t least stting as facts yur assumption of what others, I included, did think and believe, not taking my words about what I said from me but fromyour own ideas of what I, accoding to you should be thinking. So you are not returning anything but yourself. If somenody, I included, does not agree with you, then it is not, according to you, because of what they say but because of what you yourself decree that it is, that is, yousimly do not care what other paople say in order to pass your judgement of those people.

It is not very feasible to carry out any exchange on those terms.

                              Again

"On ghe other hand, to come up with a dictionnary to discuss a word which is considered of essence int he context of the Qur'an study, figure yourself, if you go by your dictionnary, we would not have anything to write on or stuy or investigate or learn further. So why would the Qur'an praise believers and require that people believe at the same time as they are asked to reason, reflect, ponder, etc. etc. if that is the contrary of belief? I repeat, we are speaking in terms of the Qur'an, not in terms of anything else, be you, your dictionnary or whatever.

                              Salaam

faith is not part of Quranic Islam huruf, its simply a part of all invented religions, but don't upset yourself with the struggle of cognitive dissonce, have nothing and call it faith, its not a problem to me.

Whatever you say, good for you, you understand yourself, great.

That notwithstanding that you havent answered even one of the possible questions you sould have thrown some light on however much you parade with cognitive dissonances and other apparel. You just keep repeating your stand point without substantiating it with anything tht is nto a repetion of the same unsubstantiated affirmations. Never mind. Man Of Faith I have known you to be of a good character from our conversations!!! I hope you were not intentional in your last post.

Also do not underestimate parrots brother

One day a man went to an auction. There, he found an exotic parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he went higher and higher and higher.
Finally, after bidding much more than he had intended, he finally won. The bird was his! As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot isn't defective. I'd hate to pay this much money only to find out that he can't talk!"
"Of course he can talk," said the auctioneer. "Who do you think kept bidding against you?"

                                          GOD bless you.
                                          Peace.
