I believe you live in UK and must be watching BBC but when you said you don't watch BBC than I guessed you might be watching CNN or Fox. Now you say that you don't watch BBC CNN or Fox than I have no idea from where you are getting this misinformation from.I have lived under dictatorship and now I choose to live in a democracy. My information comes from experience. With a login id of KGB I am sure you have been brought up with a daily diet of PRAVDA as your information source! So you probably know the TRUTH don't you!.
Democracy is not the govement by the people for the people this is only the "Sologan". The democracy is the rule of the rich, democracy is the to implement the rules and regulations which benefits big "Corporations".
These big corporations invest hundreds of millions dollars in each ellection to make sure they will get the billed passed which will make them more rich, these corporations work with Congress and Senate with their interest groups to make sure that their interests are well guarded.
If you think that is the case then in a DEMOCRACY you can work to change it. So work to change that!
Keep living under the sologan "Government by the People for the People" and be happy that you have the control on your elected leaders. I am intelligent enough not to fall for the deceptions.

I see democracy for what it is. It is a evolutionary product borne out of human experiences of the past and therefore serves humanity best. Democracy is not perfect and is indeed flawed. But we can work to make democracy better...

I suggest you go and do some reading before jumping into discussions related to world policies and systems. Broaden your view. This also goes for Jaxal. There is nothing wrong if you do not support the popular issues just for you information.

Even Donald Rumsfeld -- a man we hardly ever agree with -- had the sense to play down the statement. "Certainly it's against the law," he told the press. "Our department doesn't do that type of thing."
But this calls for more than an offhand comment, because the allegiance that Republicans owe to Robertson and his Christian Coalition allies lets them influence the Bush agenda. Bush and company need to condemn Robertson's outrageous statement.

No such thing meant personally. I wanted to imply that no intelligent human being will easily allow themselves to be humiliated by a dictator. But if it offends you then I take back that sentence and offer this instead If you are intelligent then you would not bow down so easily to a dictator and allow yourself be humiliated.

Kgb, forget it. Lote tree is not interrested in any fruitfull debate. Most of us have been lured into this clap trap, i hope my question being repeated 3 times and still unanswered is proof enough of that.
Lote tree cannot think outside the box. That is why the question pose such a threat to him. It has to be either or, it has to be them or us. it has to be black or white. it has to etc.. neuances just doesnt excists in his world.

So I have explored other world views!DEMOCRACY is government by the People for the People. And it is such a Noble Idea. DICTATORSHIPS FORCES us into becoming unwilling SUBJECTS, SERVANTS and SLAVES. DICTATORSHIPS undermines our very human dignity!
