From what I do know, witchcraft is the art of doing magic. Magic is not any of the hocus pocus the movies bring is. Magic the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with the will. This is how the sorcerers define it. So sure, it is real, but it is probably not as we concieve of it.

My grandmother used to tell me of a lady who lived in her nighbour hood when she was little. And she used black magic on other people to harm them. As a price, her kids died. She had 1 kid remaining and the people of the town had to hold her back and make her swear on her kid's life for her not to every practice black magic again.

Yeh Jaxal shit like that happens but logical & reasonable people are quick to label it as superstition. But if your a believer(Mumin) you would believe in the Ghayb or the Unseen. Part of the connection we have with God is beyong logic and reason I read somewhere which does make sense personally.

I totally agree with you. There IS a 'Ghyab' and the unseen which we are unaware off. If God says its there, then who are we to argue with God?
Here is the verse from the Quran that proves the existance of Magic (well atleast for me)

They did not teach anyone until they would say "We are a test, so do not lose faith!" Thus they teach what can separate between a person and his mate; but they cannot harm anyone except by God's permission. And they learn what harms them and does not benefit them, and they have known that he who purchases such has no place in the Hereafter. Miserable indeed is what they purchased with their souls if only they knew!

^^Everyone has it within them I believe to get in touch with the astral/spiritual world....I believe its a natural instinct everyone was born with.....most peoples have lost that contact and become a slave to the physical world which God says is an illusion/not real.

I don't know if I completely agree. Humans may have the capability to do such, but they do not have the ability to do this type of travel and projection. However, I do believe everyone has the capability and ability for self realization...to understand the interconnectedness of all creation.
I don't think that any magic is "good magic". We are talking about manipulating outcomes (by whatever medium) by will and that is just too risky for me.
IMO, The greatest protection against devils and magic is you. And beside you, the God is your only protector and friend. You don't need magic

Good magic, bad magic... I'm not saying it doesn't exist but i'd keep away even from "good" magic unless even prayer can be considered that...

But i do not wish to develop these skills, am just plainly afraid of them! I had - as well as my daughter - some experience of third eye visions and prophetic dreams - but this is fortunately very rare. A good friend of mine is real medium or what you'd call psychic in the US...is not into magic though. That ability makes her very vulnerable at the same time and there is a strong correlation. So, even though i acknowledge the existence of spiritual world around us, i'd rather stay on firm grounds.

-peace.Salaam Salikah!! Jaxal beat me to it. Read up about Astral Projection and you will see it IS possible and very real, real as this world and i'm talking from experience. The state you reach when meditating when you feel your in tune with the ONE is the state you reach to project. Everyone has it within them because everyone sleeps and we know our soul goes to God hence everyone has it within them to meditate and project.
Elke what you say is true but with everything maintaining balance is very important. The physical and spriitual world go hand in hand....we cannot ignore the spiritual world and stick to only the physical world. We are reminded in the Quran that this world is an illusion which leads me to believe we should be concentrating more on the spiritual world. Magic in my opinion is the way the spiritual world is operated and only seems magic to us as the laws are hidden sameway someone living in a jungle all their life would look at a car in amazement and not understand how it operates the way it does, it would seem magic to him/her.

Sorry as usual, don't have the verse in mind, but believe this might be about magic, may be also reincarnation. The physical world around us is our test in this world and is sufficient for most of us. The spiritual side would then be only the search of getting closer to god by working on ourselves.
As i told you, this stuff really scares me shock .
