    Peace

    The quran rejects the Hadith.

The reading is ahadeeth. It rejects frivolous ahadeeth .

the Prophet never allowed these to be written.

I'm not sure if the nabiyy allowed for cencorship of this kind, but he would not promote misleading ahadeeth.

    I like your name "TheNabi".

    Thank you.

thanks to all of you for your replies. it certainly made it clearer. everytime i would see someone quote a scripture, i would often see someone else follow with a scripture contradictory to the first, and it made it difficult to understand and i didn't know who or what to believe.

One is the word of god pray and the other man- made.rotfl

There is not a diificult choice to be made here don't you agree. roll

But still which would you go for? wink

well Tahira, i am a man absent religion, but that does not mean that i would side with the one that is man made. man has managed to take nearly all things good and twist it to his liking for his personal agenda.

Peace be upon you Nabi and all,

Thanks for continuing to provide the definitions and occurences.

quran=proclamation is sounding a lot better to me now.

Hadith is just a story, the best story is the truthful (verifyable) proclamation(quran).

That must have been one of the quickest decisions ever made.
My brother in law still can't see the difference between Quran and Hadith and is still arguing his point that they are the same. wink

Some Hadiths are very good though but i think these have been cleverly(deliberately) been kept to(cover up) confuse us into thinking that the other man-made Hadiths are authentic too.

Its ok to believe in the toothfairy, but its not ok when the toothfairy tells you to chop someones hands off if they steal.

Oh and to everyone reading this post if the toothfairy was real dentists would be billionaires so remember TOOTH FAIRIES ARE NOT REAL, unless you are a very very rich dentist.

That's always the case for someone with a neutral or an outside point of view. This is the objective way of looking at things, from outside looking in. You brother in law and a lot of other people who've been born into this cult or understanding, will find it extremely difficult if not impossible to see the difference. A good example is my dad, I couldn't be bothered to explain to him anymore, because he KNOWS. How do you teach a teacher? wink

The word hadith in 'al quran' (the reading)

                    http//mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/think-786/Hadith_in_Quran.htm

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                      Peace,

I think the key word that is missing from most of the definitions of ahadeeth is that they are ALLEGED sayings, and teachings.

There is no way nor any necessity to check their veracity.

Everything you need for heaven is in the Quran. Whether the ahadeeth or any other book is compatible or not is immaterial and can safely be ignored without penalty.

                      Regards.

                          Peace be upon you,

I would like to try an exercise in this thread if everyone is willing, there is never any compulsion.

I would liek us all to stop writing it like this "Hadith", and start replacing that with "story" (notice the lower case).

I guarantee it will help make the concept clear to any who will translate the word consistently.

Is this regarding the Ayat of Al Quran?

This is an exercise to help us demistify the language. WHy "Ayat" and "Al Quran"? Why not "sign" and "proclamation"?

We are talking in english so lets translate and bring the clarity. As I said, there is no compulsion, but there should be no fear of translation.

thank you, that was helpful. i can imagine that it must be difficult for young children who are taught hadith alongside Quran.

lol. i thought it was difficult when my parents converted from catholics to evangelical christians. roll

There is no mystery here because we both know what the words refer to. Those who don't know those Arabic words will soon catch up, and so those Arabic words will not look unfamiliar to them anymore!

We are talking in english so lets translate and bring the clarity. As I said, there is no compulsion, but there should be no fear of translation.
There is no compulsion and there certainly is no fear of translation but it makes more sense to me if we use the original Arabic words since the discussions and studying here are mainly about the Quran. If we don't use the original Arabic words some people would think we are discussing something else other than Al Quran. And also because Quranic Arabic words are safer to use as translation cannot always be accurate. For example, can you translate the following and still stay true to their meaning
                                    Ayat Al Quran
                                    Ayat Al Kitab

Peace be upon you Lote Tree,

Ayat means signs does it not?
                                      Quran means recitation?

I have a question for you. In the above examples, why did you Capatalize "ayat" but not "sign"? And "quran" but not "recitation"?

Taj, your inability to to do a simple exercise should show you that you are "serving" the arab language rather than the message. Deep down, underlying all this is the idolization of Arabic that has been ingrained in us all.

And the exercise has helped me immensely, so I offered it to those who are not afraid, who realize the God's hands are not tied by a language.

Yes, thats correct, but I have an endless amount of examples if you look at previous posts on this thread and others. This was just a bad example, but not an incorrect assemssment as evidenced all over this forum.
