I too spoke for women but from the point view of individuals. Thats why your comments where bit confusing.
I guess slaves realized much earlier than the "ordinary people" the evils of slavery and tried to do much earlier something against it. The list of historically documented tries of slave rebellions etc. is pretty long.
How nice that finally after centuries some from the class in power joined them!All these things too. But changed was brought about by those that were not slaves themselves, those that have not experienced slavery.

Which is a pitty. It even more enforces the power relationship.
There are theories that there are really good indications that the true reason why in the end the powerful decided to abolish slavery was just simply econmical.
The problem with slavery
Ok, you can treat slaves as without rights but still you need to feed them and take care of them so that they are still strong enough to work for you.
And that can become expensive with time ....It?s like with colonializm which was probably not abolished because of great men like Gandhi but simply because to have to care for your colonies is in the end more expensive than just putting your industry there through globalization.

He doesn't understand that it can be rape also just having sex with a women even though she allows it. And this is happening all over the world. He thinks that sexy clothes is the only reason for rape. He doesn't understand that it is the level of respect for women in a society or person that determines the behaviour towards women. Rape is not determined by clothes or culture or faith, rape is determined by if assholes who live all over the world think they can get away with it or not.
