I no longer have a license for the program but I had used Starry Night Pro 4.5 which calculated those dates and I confirmed by visual examination.
It seems to be confirmed by other calculators, so I believe there still can be discrepancy of one day or so and there are arguments for both starting earlier or later but it probably matters little overall.
If you observe the following page you will see that the Full moon is July 11 as I had written earlier

Ramadhan is the month of scorching heat, thus the fast begins with the first crescent moon after the summer solstice
The first crescent after the summer solstice should be on June 26 or so? Right?
Since the summer soltice is on June 21?
Just got confused... Any ideas?

Just got confused... Any ideas?Since I posted my response to you, brother Layth has rewritten the article. His new version is more in line with my understanding in the other article that I pointed you to. The two main differences are as follow
- Layth uses the new crescent moon as opposed to the full-moon as the meaning of "shahr".
- Layth propsoes that the restriction period is before the scorching "shahr" as opposed to after it.
As I said earlier, the best thing to do is to read both articles along with the debates that Layth and I have been having here over the past month on this subject and then follow what is best.

These dates avoid the historical truth. Not to mention there is a month of fasting. While The Prophet (SAW) was alive, ramadan coincided with the hebrew month of Kislev every year. It was only Omar 6 years after the death of Muhammad (PBUH) who decided not to put in the two intercaliary months needed by that time and the system has had 12 ever since. Why is truth so difficult for some to see?
If this is true, then Layth's position on Laylatul Qadr and fasting is correct, since the Kislev is arond the time of (the end of) November until December. And guess what...Hannukah was on December 21st in 2008. Another intersting fact is that Kislev is the 9th month in the Hebrew calendar, just like Ramadan is in the Hijri calendar.

Addition to my last post I am not sure if his idea of the calendar and ramadan is correct. I still follow the traditional calendar for Ramadan. Though, I have made an interesting observation as stated in my previous post.
