who are the Bani Israeel according to the Koran?

Lovelymoslems,
If I don't follow the Quran or dont' believe that Muhammad is God's messenger can I be Muslim still?
The children of Israel weren't Muslim either?
Please don't make up your own definitions for this word. Despite what you have been taught the Quran doesn't explain the word Muslim.

Yes, because muslim is attributed to community of men who obey to Allah's law (deen). Shall men claim to be Muhammad's follower but not establish Allah's law are not moslem. The children of Israel weren't Muslim either?
Follower of Moses to Jesus were moslems. Jesus was son of Abraham. Please don't make up your own definitions for this word. Despite what you have been taught the Quran doesn't explain the word Muslim.
Godbless,
AnwarAnd if only they had acted according to the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Quran), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet. There are from among them people who are on the right course (i.e. they act on the revelation and believe in Prophet Muhammad SAW like Abdullah bin Salam , but many of them do evil deeds.
Say "Truly, my Lord has guided me to a Straight Path, a right deen, the milata of Ibrahim (Abraham), Hanifa (i.e. the true Islamic Monotheism - to believe in One God (Allah i.e. to devote none but Allah, Alone)) and he was not of Al-Mushrikoon."
( , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #161)Say "Verily, my Salat (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the Alameen.
( , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #162)"He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims." ( , Al-Anaam, Chapter #6, Verse #163)
What I said is Al Quran, only.

Unfortunately you don't have a good understanding of the words that the Quran uses or you would have translated the word Muslim. Refering to the Quran is the first step, secondly you have to understand the context of the language of the Quran and the real meanings of the words that it uses.
Godbless,
AnwarJesus, Moses, Abraham and Muhammad God bless them all, none of them were Muslims.

Godbless,
AnwarHey Anwar
I believe we discussed this before and I showed you many times that the noun Muslim was expressed as a verb Aslam many times in the Quran,
so I may ask you, can you please explain to me what Muslim means
also as far as I believe the Quran directly or indirectly told us that these prophets you mentioned were Muslims as an adjective
Salam

Aslama to the pre-Islamic Arab didn't mean 'to become Muslim' and Muslimun to the Pre-Islamic Arab didn't mean Muslim. It meant 'submissive, early payer, quitter, etc.' and every one of the implications that the fourth Arabic form can have in relation to the first form of the word. What Muslim means to us now is not what it meant to the jahilee Arab and the Quran only means it in the way the jahilee Arab would have understood it.
As for what it means now, what it means now is not what it meant to the Pre-Islamic Arab (as I said above), and what it means to the person who calls himself Muslim now is not what he will translate it as in any other language, and it is not how he would literally interpret it. There are alot of interpretations of the word nowadays and the most poplular one is Shafee'i's interpretation which is 'submissive to God.' But this is an interpretation not a meaning and it is not how Muslims really use the word. Muslims don't call all of those Jews, Christians or "pagans" Muslims who don't follow the Quran or believe that Muhammad was his messenger. Using Shafee'i's interpretation it is even possible for a Jew or a Christian or a Pagan to deny the Quran and still be considered Muslim. Well we all know that that is absurd and no one, not even any Muslim would consider that someone who denies the Quran and Muhammad even has the right to call themselves Muslim. But if it means submissive to God, they would have that right. But we all know that what it really means today is someone who accepts the Quran as from God and Muhammad as a messenger and prophet of God. (Godblesshim). That's not what it means in Jahilee Arabic, and therefore is not what it means in the context of the Quran, but the Muslim is deluded about the meaning of the word Islam, Aslama and Muslim in so many ways.

Peace lovelymoslems,
You have to translate the word 'muslim' into Engish, but first you have to know what the word means in Pre-Islamic Arabic and then understand that it only means that in the context of the Quran. It's good you quoted the Quran but now we have address the issue of your understanding of the Arabic.
Godbless,

Peace be upon you
Brother Anwar
What did the word Aslam and Muslim "exactly" mean to the Arabs at that time ?
The muslim terms will never change, i.e. one or averything who abide to Allah deen (QS.3/83). Allah deen never changes (QS.30/30)

It meant
To submit, to quite, to pay early, to make safe, to salute or greet. ( and a few others that I have to look up. It also has other meanings based on the Arabic form that it is in). But this word had nothing to do with God.
Godbless,
AnwarSay "Verily, my Lord hath guided me to a Way that is straight, a deen of right, the Path (trod) by Ibrahim the true in faith, and he (certainly) joined not gods with Allah."
Say "Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds;
"No partner hath He this am I commanded, and I am the first of those who bow to His Will (awalul muslimin)."
So muslim means
- To follow deen of Ibrahim
- To make his prayer, devotion, life and death only for Allah's deen.
- Make no partner (in law, kingdom and devotion) to Allah.

Man, you cannot understand something from the Koran when the origin is not Koranic. B'ney 'isra?l (or ban? 'sra'?l) is the nation - also known as the jews, the very same thing - that is said to have been established by Jacob after the name he was given by G-d in Genesis 3229
What you're telling is that you reject the term's history whilst trying to understand it.
Hadiths are not gonna help you on this one. However, since the T?r? is the origin, it is most likely the best place to search for an answer.
kind regards,

Peace be upon you,
The Israelites (Hyksos People) are not Jews, they were Egyptians.
Israel = Is(is) + (Amen-)Ra + EL (Canaanite origins).I have heard this breakdown before, and I am not saying if it is correct or incorrect, but the word "Isis" is not what the Egyptians used, they said "AuSeT", not "Isis". This was a later change by the Greeks or someone else.
Further, we have to understand these people to be part of our "make up", not some group in history.
