    Peace.

"That was a nation who passed away, they will earn their reward and you yours, and you will not be asked what they did" 2134; 2141

Thanks for reminding me of this verse Samia.

      Peace Samia,

I wouldn't say it is racism but wrong wording. The question should have been what WAS it about white people. It is not directly because they were white, but isn't this the teaching in the old testament when it told the story of Noah, and how God cursed his son (and his descendants thereafter) to be black? So black is a curse and a marker for infidelity.

This is exactly the point. The concept of Noah cursing Ham and all his descendants to be black-skinned people is a complete mistranslation, misinterpretation, and fabrication, prompted by "white people" who wanted to make their race superior. The claim that white people were the originals and "blackness" is a curse is totally unfounded... Now, it's unreasonable for us to say that black-skinned people started this myth - it's pretty obvious that "white people" did it. And they CONTINUE to do it. That's why nearly every orthodox Christian church in America depicts a white Jesus. Nearly every orthodox Islaamic mosque in the Middle East, America, and Europe depicts a white Muhammad. Nearly every orthodox Jewish synagogue (the ones that are allowed to post pictures, since many aren't) depicts a white Moses. These prophets look EUROPEAN, even though none of them were from Europe or had European ancestry. This is the "racist" aspect of religious dogma. Addressing the issue is NOT racist at all...

People often say that the color/race of the people and the prophets is UNIMPORTANT, but this is ridiculous. If it wasn't important, then they wouldn't display a picture at all. Instead, they do display a picture, and they display it with a pale-skinned, white face. But try walking into any religious establishment of the orthodox Abrahamic religions and paint pictures of black-skinned prophets, and the people will probably throw stones! You don't think it's strange that white people have attempted to "whitewash" every aspect of religion throughout the world? You don't think it's strange that they've built the biggest following in organized religion ("Christianity&quot, turning BILLIONS of people away from the straight path of monotheism and convincing them to worship Jesus? Even in modern Islaam, white people have convinced over a BILLION people to idolize Muhammad and follow the hadiths and sunna in place of the Qur'aan. In Judaism, white people (especially Ashkenazi Jews) have convinced MILLIONS to discard the Torah, and instead, they should only follow the wisdom of the rabbis! This stuff doesn't sound alarming to you? Although some of them are believers, most of them are stern objectors to the truth. They sound alarmingly similar to another group mentioned in the Qur'aan, "al-jinn"...

      Peace,

      Ahmad

You laugh but it's going to happen. It's part of the New Secular Order.

Take God out of religion, put man in His place on the throne of the heart. Worship is Mandatory on Sunday; close down shop, no alcohol sold, etc. (Hey, we are doing this for you.) You will be fined if you disobey this law. Repeat offenders will be shot. Move along, citizen.

Handbaskets and a map with a shortcut to the Fire will be handed out at the door every Sunday.

The question that should be asked is 'what is wrong with people'? Why is there a lack of self-responsibility that is so prevelant in this day and age? Why are the people who do good the blatant exception that proves the norm? When did we stop caring about our neighbors and helping them out, only to focus on what I can get or when I can get it?

When did it suddenly become cool to be a racist? When did it become okay to be a bigot? Why aren't these actions loudly condemned en masse by the believers who know God, who know His will, and know what He wants done about it?

When did we stop fighting for righteousness to water down our spines in the name of being accepted by the masses?

There are people who say they are believers, but they are not.
There are people who say they work for God, but they don't.
They sold their souls to the serpent for whatever quick luxury then can get on this world. This life is a brief spark, a candle flame in comparision to the eternity that awaits. Yet some people, who are liars themselves for coming forth as men and women of God, are acting in the ways of satan to further his cause. We were warned of them in Surah 28-9 and 2146. God does not speak idly.

Every single one of you bigots and racists are tools for the serpent, and you may not know it. You may truly love God and seek to do His will, yet when you fall prey to this fear mongering and hatred for the men and women of your fellow nation, you only help advance the cause of the deceiver. And it's another brick building the foundation of the system of the djall/antichrist. People laugh and say 'Antichrist? lol no' yet look around you in this world. Judgement is nigh, brothers and sisters. We too are waiting for that Day, and the signs are everywhere of that eventuality fast approaching.

Every single one of you racists are falling prey to fear instead of hope. Every single one of you intolerant men and women are falling prey to anger instead of forgiveness. God is LOVE! He ensured we had the Final Testament sent down to us through Muhammad, so we had a clear path, a pure path to Him. How can anyone not see how Merciful and Gracious that one major act towards mankind is? How can anyone not see how our God is a Loving and Bountiful God, if only we pull out of the world and this system of anger, fear, intolerance, hatred, oppression, and FIGHT the system of the serpent?!

Show love and compassion for your fellow men and women, regardless of race, religion, sex, or creed.
Be not aggressive nor oppressors until they act as such. Then give back as good as they give, until they call for peace and mercy. God loves the benevolent! Yet God protects us, so why be afraid? Why? If someone comes at you spiritually, give it back to them spiritually with Surahs from the Quran. Blast the deceiver's minions with the Word of God. If they come at you physically, give it right back to them! God sent angels down to assist Muhammad in battle. If you are a man or woman of God, what makes you think God will not aid you when you need it the most?!
Show charity, even if it's a smile. Prove to our fellow men and women that God is working in our lives, tesitfy with our actions.

Fight the djall. Fight the serpent, that firey jinn iblis, that deceiving coward satan. Fight him in your homes, in your community, and if God grants you the ability, fight him in the world. Our voices carry the Word of God on our tongues, the Sword of Truth! Use it!

Don't fall prey to his machinations.

Pray for guidance. Pray for protection. Pray for strength.

Pray, brothers and sisters. Read the Quran front to back then read it again! Go out in the world and do God's work. Not our will, God's will!

If any servant of satan decides to come at me, physically or spiritually, you best be ready. I hate the serpent, I spit in satan's beer, I strive to combat iblis in all his works. And I will restate I hope something happens. I have not been training physically and spiritually to sit on the sidelines on the bench. God saved my life as a youth, and God led me to the Quran. I will repay that Graciousness, that Mercy, even if it costs me my life in doing so. I will not sit idly by hoping the world passes me by.

If you are afraid of being attacked physically, why are you not in a gym strengthening your body? Why are you not learning martial arts to protect yourself? Why are you not running or cycling to build up your physical endurance? Why are you eating junkfood instead of the food God has given us?

If you are afraid of being attacked spiritually, why are you not reading the Quran daily? Turn off the TV and use that time getting into the Word of God. Why are you not spending time in prayer, more than is required? Why are you not up late, prostrating yourself before your Lord asking for guidance and spiritual blessings, asking what God's will is, and what direction He wants you to go in?

God has work for all of us to do before Judgement. I am preparing for it, I am training for it, I am throwing myself into the mix already to test my mettle physically and spiritually, refining that foundation found in the Quran and building up so when the time comes I am ready to do God's will.

          Why aren't you?

I am drawing a line in the sand. Pick which side you want to stand on God's or satan's.

May God grant victory to the believers over the unbelievers and their master.

          Peace.

I personally am sick of victim mentality.

                So am I
Must Jews always see themselves as victims?

Fierce debate has been raging in 'The Independent' about Israel's conduct in Gaza. Here, one leading Jewish thinker argues that until Jews shake off their persecution complex, there can never be peace in the Middle East

Excellent words. And it's also wrong for White people to feel guilty about what White people did in the past. Today's White people didn't enslave Black people, colonize India, etc. and so they've no reason to feel guilty or apologetic.

Any person of European descent who chooses to cash-in on their white privilege needs to acknowledge that their choice is just as damaging as what some of their ancestors may have done back in the day to support imperialism and colonialism.

That said, anyone who chooses to cash-in on any socio-political privilege that they have - regardless of the identity that the privilege is based on, or when that privilege was "granted" - has some spiritual work to do, imo.

When you choose to cash-in on your socio-political privilege(s), or when you choose not to speak out when someone automatically lets you get ahead in life because of your socio-political privilege(s), you choose to oppress someone who wasn't "granted" that/those same privilege(s) - whether that oppressed person is standing right next to you or struggling thousands of miles away.

                    Peace, farida,

I apologize, the comment was not directed towards you but to the Forum as a whole. You were the impetus for my dialogue, and I apologize for wording it to make you the bearer of these tidings.

Believers will unite, yet we know according to the Quran it will be a party of believers.

"And whoever takes Allah and His Messenger and those who believe for friend - surely the party of Allah, they shall triumph." Surah 556

Party A group of people who have gathered to participate in an activity; A group of people. An assemblage of persons or objects gathered or located together; an aggregation; To come together or collect in a mass or whole.

A party of believers will be outnumbered in bodies. Yet with God's backing, they will be victorious. God said it. It will come to pass.

I do not think the warning of Surah 28-9 was so close to the beginning of the Quran by coincidence. We will know the believers by the fruit of their works.

Again, accept my apologies, farida. My comments were not directed at you in particular, but at the Forum as a whole.

                    Peace and blessings.

I agree. I was just going to reply to Supernaut's post saying that yes they shouldn't feel guilty, but the group that is the most privileged (such as white people in America) need fix things and not just go on with life like nothing happened.

Once again, I would also like to remind you that your technology argument is not valid. The Chinese 'discovered' Australia before the Europeans in the 15th century. They had a civilisation more advanced than that of the Europeans yet they did not seek to rape/plunder/steal like the Europeans did. The Malaysians and Indonesians also traded peacefully with Aboriginals. As also stated before, the Europeans used trade as a deception to plunder and steal from other countries. This also has nothing to do with technology.

                        Roshan

You gotta be kidding. How did you think the Chinese Empire get so big? Just because they had no interest in colonizing lands across the oceans doesnt mean they were peaceful because the were not. The Chinese were too busy raping their adjacent neighbors. The reason they stopped Zhang He's expedition for example was because their resources were focused on suppressing revolts in colonized lands all over the Chinese Empire.

I hope you are not that unknowledgeable to think that all Chinese are of the same culture and people because they are not especially in the past.

                          Peace all,
This thread is blatant racism and does not befit the spirit of Free Minds. I for one think the 'white people' have done much good in this world. I live in the USA and even though decadence is prevalent here; I find myself impressed with the morals and attitudes of 'white people'. They have given me an education and have made sure that I have equal rights as them.
The Quran does not allow any distinction between color and for us to to single out 'white people' goes against our very belief. I for one do not suscribe to blaming any race or creed for destroying humanity on a large scale. Please leave judgement upto God and use this time to better the human race by preaching God's message and helping humanity.
                          God Bless,

I agree. I was just going to reply to Supernaut's post saying that yes they shouldn't feel guilty, but the group that is the most privileged (such as white people in America) need fix things and not just go on with life like nothing happened.

Fix things how? Yes, they should be charitable, but not because they're White and because some White people did horrible things in the past, but because they're human. A White person shouldn't help improve society while bearing in mind that they're White and that they need to make up for the crimes of some White people in the past. No one should base their identity on their skin colour because it's not something they choose and like you said before, no one is responsible for the actions of other people even though they may be of the same ethnicity.

                                  Peace,

How do White people cash-in on being White? I'm afraid I don't understand your post.

Please google "white privilege". Although books have been written on it, there's a wealth of information online for free. There are even white people who acknowledge white privilege; by having a dialogue with someone on that frequency, this nasty truth of white privilege may be easier to swallow if you think it's a crock because a white person isn't writing this.

One can easily take out the "white" part of "white privilege" and fill in the blank with "class" or "gender". There are also people who benefit from socio-political privilege because they were born in a certain country (as opposed to having to go through a naturalization process); they speak a certain language as a native speaker (and no, I'm not just talking about English); they're literate; they weigh a certain number; they belong to a certain political party; they're straight; they have formal education; they can hear; they have a fully functioning brain and a body that works the way it's supposed to; they have access to clean water 24 hours a day; they belong to a certain religion; they belong from a certain religious sect; and/or because of many other reasons.

I have better things to do than regurgitate information that you can easily access but choose not to because it doesn't apply to a way in which you feel oppressed or a way in which you feel that others are being oppressed.

My point is that socio-political privilege is damaging, and there isn't one person on the planet who hasn't benefitted or won't benefit from at least one form of privilege at some point in their life. If that person chooses to go through life cashing-in on that/those privilege(s), then they are experiencing a spiritual disconnect from Allah.

And to be clear, I personally don't believe that anyone should feel guilty for having a certain socio-political privilege; however, I do believe anyone benefitting from a certain privilege should feel motivated to do more than participate in a bunch of intellectual masturbation.

....I find myself impressed with the morals and attitudes of 'white people'. They have given me an education and have made sure that I have equal rights as them....

                                    Salaam,

Everyone has the right to a formal education. No human being of any color is powerful enough to "give" you an education. Allah has granted you a formal education.

Everyone has the right not to be oppressed. It is not up to a certain group of humans to "grant" civil rights to another groups of humans. Allah has made sure you've been blessed enough to live comfortably with respect to certain human rights.

Allah granted you that education and those basic human rights with the hope that you would acknowledge where those blessings came from. I'm sorry, but by giving credit to white people - or any group of people - for your blessings, you are taking credit away from The Almighty.

                                    Ma'salaama,
                                    T.

No it's just some white people fail to realize how slavery and years of oppression against groups of people have propelled them to where they are today and how much it is still affecting others. Noone is blaming you. A famous guy once said "White people just had a 400 year head start"

Look at it this way...if my grandfather met your grandfather, your grandfather had 20 bucks and he was going to use it to go to college and get an education and be rich, but my grandfather came out of nowhere STOLE his money, and used it to become rich and go to college. While your grandfather was left with nothing and had to be poor, couldn't send his children to school so they grew up poor and when they grew up they didn't have enough to send their kids to school so they stayed poor until someone made it. While my grandfather continued to educate his children and they continued to flourish off all because he STOLE the 20 bucks which propelled his life and sent yours down the toilet. What does this remind you of?

Just because you didn't steal the dollars, doesn't mean YOU DON'T BENEFIT FROM THE STOLEN DOLLARS!

                                        Peace Samia,

                                        Peace,

                                        Ahmad

                                        Good post

Exactly. It is those who grant them their unfair privileges who should feel guilty. All people should be treated equally. This means that there should be no White privilege, affirmative action and other evils that discriminate against people on the basis of immaterial things like race, gender, sexuality, etc.
