Nice point but at least those have benefits. car takes you from a to b, cellphone helps you communicate, snacking might feel up your appetite.
what good does smoking have? you don't need to smoke to socialise.
just some thought.

I don't encourage smoking by any means , but as long as you are not smoking 1, 2, or 3+ packs a day, there's nothing wrong with it. Moderation.
I think, lifelong chain smoking can be hazardous to your health, but the same can be said for sugar, candy, etc.
what good does smoking have?
Relaxation, weight loss, etc

No, you don't.
No one is saying that you need to, in order to socialize, or for any other reason.Peace

This is a HUUUUGE misconception. The average smoker starts in his/her teens years. It starts by maybe 1 pack a week or 1 pack every 2 weeks. This might not seem very unhealthy, but the first symptoms start (e.g. worse sense of taste, asthma, need to catch for air more frequently during exercise/worse fitness). Then, after that, the addiction kicks in (and I am talking about smoking less than a pack per day).
There is arsenic (rat poison), tar (used for road-building) and over 4,000 other chemicals in a cigarette. This is absolutely NO comparison to candy/sugar.
Also, you are missing the fact that smoking is highly addictive, so there is no "oh, I'll smoke a pack today, then I'll take a break from cigs for all of next week, then smoke another pack, then take a break..." - It is highly addictive and very unhealthy, to say the least.
Another thing that I'd like to point out is that there is a physical AND a psychological addiction to smoking cigarettes, yet for shisha its mostly/always only psychological.
-
Or for people who live on their own and can't cook without making themselves sick?
You can't cook? Thats too bad..Even I can do it. LOL!
-
It?s pretty bad for you actually.. Worse than the cigs. Some people pass out from smoking it.
Now the haram/halal issue
Quran doesn?t say ?smoking hooka/shisha/argila/pipe smoke is haram?. I think people need to draw away from haram halal statements and think of the issue in a different way, such as
"Will this be good for me? Will this be bad for me? If it's bad avoid it, if it is good enjoin it."
Is inflicting harm upon yourself a form of oppression? If so there answer is there.
a good question. Does freedom include the freedom to cause self-injury?
but anyway, I agree that it's not a haraam/halal issue, it's a health issue. -

I'd say don't drive if you can walk, cause it's a short distance and you have time. But it's up to you.2 keep cellphone usage to a minimum, but there is no good alternative when you don't have access to a landline
3 eating out is enjoyable, but in moderation
I like your list, everything has its pros and cons, but they differ from one individual to another. Some people are just more health conscious and others, and that's their choice.

Well I can really, simple stuff. It just seems a lot of trouble just to cook for one.
If you ever use cooking oil, try using it on your Cars.

Hey John are you spying on us just wondring. hmm confused
I wonder why you said that hmm

Average smoker =/= all smokers. I am not disagreeing with what you are saying. I am just saying we consume things on a daily basis, similar to cigarettes.
Like I said, chain smoking is not recommended. There are similar ingredients in our snacks (e.g. petroleum in Twinkies). I would say sugar is at least as addictive.
