These were some principles of marital harmony. All points are deduced from Holy Qur'an, the Book of Islam.

Pity he did not provide an actual reference from The Quran.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

      Good wife is one who

      1. listens and follows her husband and also gives him advice & consultation but doesnt insult him

      2. she does not belittle her husband in the company of others or is disrespectful

      3. she does not divulge her husband or family secrets and preserves her family dignity & honour

      4. she makes her self sexually available to her husband and considers only one man to be the man in her life ie her husband

      5. When the husband comes home tired from the days work, she makes him relax & entertains him

These were some principles of marital harmony. All points are deduced from Holy Qur'an, the Book of Islam.

I see nothing wrong with any this If it applies to both the Husband and Wife, as The Husband should also be required to give the same amount of effort as well.

But that is exactly the point ? that it does not apply to both. According to Fahad and those who think like him, there are different roles for husband and wife, supposedly due to their different physical and mental capacities

Before understanding husband/wife relations need to understand attributes of man & woman

Fact#1 biologically man and woman are not the same.

        Fact#2 Men's physique is different from a woman's.

Fact#3 Men grow beards & mustaches, women dont

Fact#4 Women get pregnant, men dont

Fact#5 women give birth, men dont

Fact#6 women get postnatal depression, men dont

        Fact#7 women lactate, men dont

Fact#8 women can give undivided attention to child and naturally multi-task at other things, men cant

Fact#9 men's sexual desire is more than that of women.

Fact#10 men have more strength than women

Fact#11 psychologically as well as physiologically, men & women are not the same. they R different. Its a scientific fact.

I have cited 11 facts proving that man is not equal to woman & vice versa. In their light is the success in marriage.

What is marriage. Union of man & woman agreeing to share life, material possession, emotions and all together.

Key to marital harmony is that both man and woman understand their roles vis a vis their NATURAL construction

Man's roles should be according to his physique & talents, woman's roles acc. to her physique & talents.

Man's role acc to his body is strenous work, aggressive bargaining, hunting for opportunities, & bringing the kill home

Man's role is to provide, and protect his family. work very hard and bring income home and spend on family.

Women's role acc to her body is to make home beautiful, also herself beautiful for her husband & properly manage his money

        Good husband is one who

        1. works hard & earns good living

        2. protects and takes a stand for his family

        3. is sexually interested in his wife & is not unfaithful. wife should also beautify and make herself alluring for her man

        4. is the teacher of the family. teaches and becomes role model for children & also gives counsel in times of need

According to the Quran Men and Woman are Equal (in righteousness, ie. in being submissive beings to Allah that will prove to deserve either Paradise or Hell).
According to Nature, We can obviously agree that Most (generalizing/majority) or Men and Women are very different and will generally Instinctively follow a gender role that has been conditioned for over thousands (maybe millions?) of years.
The Classic Women is the gather/maintainer of the tribe, Man is the Hunter/Protector and in most cases the Dominant of the Tribe.

Personally, I feel that it is easier to follow this way though I dont think it is mandatory. I dont think that by women being the Classic gather/maintainer makes her inferior to the man.
I just think that The Women (generally) would do a better job at it and the Men would (generally) do a better job at being the Hunter/Protector of the tribe. I think this is how our Species has been for millions or years, and dont really see anything wrong with it Unless One is FORCED to take this role.

I agree with Fahad in that Men and Woman (typically) have different duties/roles due to their different physical and mental capacities.
I think this is obviously true (for most).

But If you as a Woman feel that over the years of Evolution you have evolved are able to switch roles and are fully competent, then I think you have the right to do so.

Yeah ? the Qur'an says that women are nothing but baby machines.

Not nothing but baby machines, but yes, baby machines nevertheless.

To derive anything demeaning for a woman from the tilth expressi?n denotes a ciy person absolutely ignorant of the personality and relationship of a farmer with the land he cultivtes. He is its slave.

In 2/223, the "tilth" belongs to the man

"...Therefore go to your tilth as you will"

Personally, I feel that it is easier to follow this way though I dont think it is mandatory. I dont think that by women being the Classic gather/maintainer makes her inferior to the man.

If you say that the man should be the boss in the house, then you do make her inferior. And that's exactly what is being said in some of the quotes that have been posted in this thread.

If you say ? as Fahad did and as many mainstream Islamic scholars claim ? that the woman
                    a) should be a housewife and b) wait on her husband and supply "relaxation and entertainment" for him when he comes home, then you are effectively saying that the work she is doing at home is inferior to that of the man who goes out to earn money.

Whether you realize it or not, statements like that are utterly cynical. (They are also extremely ignorant, for that matter.)
You are implying that the work done outside of the house is more stressful and deserving of reward than the one done inside.

But fact is ? spending a day with children and housework is extremely exhausting and draining ? physically and psychologically. Most people who have experience working inside the house and outside of the house will tell you that spending a day at the office is much less exhausting than spending a day with children and housework. Yet on all these lists about good husbands and good wifes we never read that the husband should pick up his kids when he comes home, give his wife a break, offer her a foot massage etc. No ? we always read that the wife should make the greatest effort to pamper her husband because supposedly the hard fights he's been battling in the tough outer world are so much more draining than the work she has done all day.

I just think that The Women (generally) would do a better job at it and the Men would (generally) do a better job at being the Hunter/Protector of the tribe. I think this is how our Species has been for millions or years, and dont really see anything wrong with it Unless One is FORCED to take this role.

By making lists of how a good wife and good husband should behave, by listing rights and duties, by stereotyping men and women and trying to bully them into this or that role, you are effectively trying to force them.

By doing this, you are saying that a man or a woman who doesn't act according to the stereotypical role is not fulfilling his or her divinely ordained duty in life, and that is a problem. We should encourage people to make individual life choices that will fulfill them and allow them to develop their full human potential. The world is not black and white, women are not by default better at parenting, nor are men by default better at earning money or making decisions. I really wish people would stop this stupid stereotyping and look at human beings as individuals instead of as men and women. Individuals should decide what they want to do with their own lives, not society, not religious scholars, or neo-conservative crackpots. And, most of all, men should stop telling women what their role should be. Let the women decide, let couples individually decide, and stop the bullying.

I agree with Fahad in that Men and Woman (typically) have different duties/roles due to their different physical and mental capacities.

So because men grow a beard, women are better at changing diapers and decorating the house?
Because women menstruate, men are better at earning money and exercising leadership?

I am being a bit facetious here, of course, but that's what it boils down to. It is ridiculous to use the biological differences between men and women in order to prescribe particular roles and duties.

I know lots of women who would not be happy at all being only a mother and houswife, and I also know men who are passionate stay-at-home dads. Which role exactly a person feels comfortable in has to do with individual preferences, but those preferences are not determined by particular biological differences.

There are countless women in this world who excel men in all sorts of jobs, in science, arts etc. Do you seriously want to deny this and, on the basis of some dubious theory about physical and mental differences, suggest, this is not the case? Because this is effectively what you are saying when you claim that particular gender roles are "only natural".

But If you as a Woman feel that over the years of Evolution you have evolved are able to switch roles and are fully competent, then I think you have the right to do so.

Of course I do, but I don't need anyone to grant me this right, I'm born with it. )

In fact, I don't think I ever bothered thinking that this or that role should be the only suitable one for me because of my gender. I always followed what felt right for me, and thankfully I grew up in a society where this was a non-issue. Nobody ever told me I should do this or not do that because I'm a woman, or I should get married instead of travelling the world, or raise kids instead of doing work I love and pursuing my carreer. Maybe that's why I'm so perplexed when I read stuff such as what we've been discussing here. It just seems absurd to me that someone would actually bother trying to tell people how they should lead their life because they've been born as a man or a woman.

Pardon me if I am wrong but you two do seem to be bickering over the most illusory division between people. It is said in the quran that man and woman are garments unto each other, nothing more to be said.

Also, both man and woman are "baby machines", it takes 2 to shake a bed ya know.

Bickering me? No, not at all. I don't usually answer this kind of stuff. This time I wrote some messages to Leyna, and the man just wrote the silly stuff about the tilth and I just made a pun, not a very witty one, I know, but I am a compulsive pun maker. Otherwise I wasn't and I am not getting into an exchange over that childish stuff neither for bickering nor for anything else.

Also, I agree you are born with that right...nobody has to grant you this. I certainly don't have to grant you this nor have I offered to do so. )

Because women menstruate, men are better at earning money and exercising leadership?

Men have a History of being the Hunter/Protector of the tribe. Their bodies and minds have evolved in different ways.
There are Certain tasks that Men generally do better than women, and some that Woman generally do better than men.

I believe that because of History and Evolution...the sex will gravitate towards these specific roles.
There are Anomalies, there are Single Mothers who have to be both the Hunter/protector/Father figure at times...and there are Men who have to do the same.

Another thing is that you mentioned I was stereotyping. YES you are correct I AM.
Noticed how I have always said the word "GENERALLY". Generally Alligators will swim and live in Fresh water ecosystems...But of course there are times when Some go towards the Salt water where the Crocodiles live.

Generally, Women will gravitate towards theses tasks and roles. That doesnt make them inferior.
In fact I have a lot of Respect for a woman that cleans, cooks, and takes care of the kids at home. I think thats an honorable position and is very challenging.
I dont think its an inferior position. Do you?

If a woman is content being a stay at home Mom, then I say more power to her. That great. I dont think shes less human, Ignorant, abused, or stupid.
Is there something wrong with a stay at home mom?

I think the majority of woman have been doing it for thousands of years and are good at it. That belief of mine doesnt make me a sexist.
They dont HAVE to do it. They can be Doctors, Construction workers, Engineers, Janitors, Presidents, etc... it doesnt matter to me.
I just think they are better at being A) Teachers B) Nurses and C) House Moms.

PS. just a reminder this is a Generalization. if you want you can even call it a sweeping generalization. there are always anomalies.

If you say that the man should be the boss in the house, then you do make her inferior. And that's exactly what is being said in some of the quotes that have been posted in this thread.

The Husband is not the "Boss" of the Wife. I dont believe that he is the Boss of the wife.
Rather I believe the two Collectively are the maintainers of the home and children and will work togeather to successfully complete the family tasks.
However, Generally, Historically, Naturally, and in most occurrences The HUSBAND will assume the Leader position of the family in certain circumstances.
I honestly believe that Most women will sometimes unconsciously sometimes consciously let the Husband assume the leader position.
This has happened to every woman I have met in my reality, and alot more times then it has happened (if any I can recall) then to the man.

Again I never said nor agree with the belief that a Housewife's job is inferior to a Mans job. They both are important and deserve respect.

Whether you realize it or not, statements like that are utterly cynical. (They are also extremely ignorant, for that matter.)
You are implying that the work done outside of the house is more stressful and deserving of reward than the one done inside.

This is your conclusion not mine. As I did not agree to the previous statement, I also do not agree with this one. I am not implying anything.
Work done inside the house IS stressful, IS challenging, and DESERVES RESPECT. In fact If my wife were to be a housewife I would Never say that my work is more important or hers is inferior.

I think this is where We BOTH can agree. I believe in pretty much everything that is said here. I think BOTH people deserve massages and rewards.
I Man and Woman should be Physically, Mentally, Spiritually, and sexually available to each other. If not its Selfishness.

By making lists of how a good wife and good husband should behave, by listing rights and duties, by stereotyping men and women and trying to bully them into this or that role, you are effectively trying to force them.

I disagree. Nobody is "Physically Forcing" anyone to do anything they dont want to. If the Women feels like she is being Bullyed or the man feels he is being forced to be This or that role...they can simply Not do it, Ignore the list, or get a divorce.

I can write a List and post it online that says "A good wife Must do back-flips when her husband comes home". And..... So......
It doesnt mean I am forcing women to do this, They have a brain they have a choice to follow or not. No bully here.

Just because I believe Women are Generally better at _________, doesnt make me a bully.
I agree that Woman should be able to decide...and personally I think MOST women WILL decide just that! That Most of them WANT to do that.

So because men grow a beard, women are better at changing diapers and decorating the house?
Because women menstruate, men are better at earning money and exercising leadership?

                              ???

I am being a bit facetious here, of course, but that's what it boils down to. It is ridiculous to use the biological differences between men and women in order to prescribe particular roles and duties.

Thats just evolution though. If you are unhappy with it...just dont do it. and hopefully with others like you...over time.. maybe it will be different, and women will develop New biological differences.

I know lots of women who would not be happy at all being only a mother and houswife, and I also know men who are passionate stay-at-home dads. Which role exactly a person feels comfortable in has to do with individual preferences, but those preferences are not determined by particular biological differences.

I find this hard to believe. People will usually gravitate to what they are better at. Men are Generally better Hunters and warriors. therefore history has shown that Man has always been the Hunter/Warrior. I Personally Do NOT want to be a full time stay at home father. This is NOT my preference. Why? maybe because of Evolution? There are woman who DO what to be housewives. WHY? also because of evolution?

There are countless women in this world who excel men in all sorts of jobs, in science, arts etc. Do you seriously want to deny this and, on the basis of some dubious theory about physical and mental differences, suggest, this is not the case? Because this is effectively what you are saying when you claim that particular gender roles are "only natural".
No you are incorrect once again. Just because there may be Theory and there may be statistics on a particular subject doesnt mean that there aren't anomalies. There are also Countless MEN who excell in this world in all sorts of jobs, science, and art.
And..... Just because it may be Natural Doesnt mean you HAVE to follow it.

Not all women are like you or chose your path. You are not inferior or better then them and they are not better then you.
Not all men are like me or chose my path. They arent Inferior to me nor am I to them.

It is said in the quran that man and woman are garments unto each other, nothing more to be said.

Exactly. People talk past each other sometimes and sometimes it's a bit to do with worldviews/beliefs what have you but the basic deal is this. Big picture and all, it must make sense on different levels.

All this argument about what men or women are better at finally seem to revolve around statistis or perceived statististics. The fact is that human beings are each so complex, and life circumstances combined with innate character are so complex that it is very much pointless to adjudicate on the basis of any statistic. That is why there is the wonderful invention of freedom and, I guess, why they Qur'an does not impose anything on any sex in particular, except to balance the different physiological and bilogical burden that reproduction imposes women but not men. That must be taken into account and therefore, as the Qur'an does, liberate women from many impositions, but not in any way impose on her prohitions or limits on top of it. Historically, men (the specieis but mainly or exclusively males) have gradualy undermined the qur'an and converted into prohibitions those exemptions or freedoms granted to, turning them into prohibitions. So that what the Qur'an pretended as equity for women has been turned in tyrany on them.

Women support necessarily a burden that others cannot assume because they are not biologilly fitted. They should be in all equity discharged of something in exchange, but they should not be restrained or punished in any other way by what they are the only ones who can do.

As to what they are better at, I am sorry, but those are mere personal appreciations on too complex matters to be taken just like that. Where one sees this, another person sees that. My personal appreciation is that couples, where they are successful, adapt to each other and the leading role is non existent, they coordinate or dispute amicably, agree on things and let each other have their parcel where they do as they please. Also we seem to speak as if for the whole life couples were having small children. Sometimes it may be so, many times, tender age of children goes by faster tha one can think and women supposedly dedicated to children and the home, if they are not absolutely bored by then, do have time and wish to do something else, the problem is that by then many things may have bypassed them in the modern capitalists societies. That, among other things, is what should be born in mind when taking decisions.

The talk about those crappy statistics may seem inocuous, but they are used in fact to discourage beople to be what they really are as if they were anomalies and they should conform to the majority. That is poison. The fact is that every person, in some or many things at one time or other or always, is a minority. Statistics, good pointed statistics may have their use, but they are no substitute for truth or reality nor an exemption for catering for everyone in society and not just for the abstract and inexistent majority, nor are they the moral endorsement of anything in particular just because it is more frequent or appears so.

Also frequency of thing is not inocuous. Illness is more frequent in undernourished populations, that does not mean that that is something innate in those populations. If one sex is pounded, constricted, manipulated, cornered into something, whatever they are after cannot be attribued to something innate.

But foremost, no role or steoretyping is present or in any way endorsed in the Qur'an. And that is God's wisdom and God the wisest.

                                  Salaam

Alan Watt The Neo-Eugenics War On Humanity

                                      Part 4 http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7D30tw4dm4

Alan Watt continues to divulge his fascinating in-depth insights into how culture is created from the top down and used by the elite to manipulate and pervert natural human instincts towards their own ends. Every change in culture, right down to fashion and music, points out Watt citing Plato, had to be authorized and promoted from the top. This science of mass mind control is still taught today by the insiders and mediums such as television are used as weapons of social control to prevent humanity from ever realizing its full potential.

Watt talks about how the elite technocrats plan for the long term, in 50, 100 and even 150 year cycles in which to implement the different aspects of their agenda, and how each cultural shift was deliberately timed to be implemented at a certain time. The current cultural bombardment surrounds the emergence of neo-eugenics, with big foundations and organizations like the Optimum Population Trust pushing the idea that humans are superfluous, virus-like, and therefore worthless.

Watt discusses how sperm counts across Europe and America have dropped at an alarming rate of up to 80 per cent over the past 50 years, and how the media's complete ignorance of this crisis proves that it was authorized as a deliberate program of de-population. Watt traces the program back to its origins in the 1950's, where synthetic female hormones like estrogen were put in baby foods by companies like Proctor and Gamble, as well as baby milk bottles washed with Bisphenol A, the very substance that attacks male genitalia and prevents it from developing properly. Watt also outlines how Bisphenol A in women's cosmetic products contributes to toxifying their bodies, leading to an environment for male babies that leads them to have a reduced sperm count or even become sterile. The foundation of the agenda can be discovered in the writings of people like Bertrand Russell and the Huxley brothers, who talked about the need to sterilize the masses as far back as the 1930's.

Watt also divulges how the elite's ultimate goal for every human allowed to be born is for them to serve the state and be deceived into accepting this enslavement as a natural form of existence. The elite's greatest fear is that the "inferiors" will out-breed the "superiors," which is why they continually push neo-eugenics and are obsessed with inter-breeding to keep their own genetics intellectually pure.
