In his book ?Histoire de la Turquie? he writes ?Never has a man set for himself, voluntarily or involuntarily, a more sublime aim since this was super-human, to subvert superstitions which have been interposed between man and unto God; to restore the rational and disfigured gods of idolatry, then existing. Never has a man undertaken a work so far beyond human power with so feeble means, for he (Muhammad) had in the conception as well in the execution of such a great design no other instrument than himself and none others except a handful of men living in a coroner of the desert. Finally never has a man accomplished such a high and lasting revolution in the world, because in less than two centuries after its appearance, Islam, in faith and in arms, reigned over the whole of Arabia, and they conquered in God?s name Persia, Khorasan, Transsoxania, Western India, Syria, Egypt, Abyssinia, all the known continent of North Africa numerous Islands of Mediterranean, Spain, and a part of Gual.

?If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad? The most famous men created armies, laws, and empires only. They founded, if any thing at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. The man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples and dynasties but millions of inhabited world; and more then that, he moved the alerts, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and the souls. On the basis of book, every letter of which has become law, he created a spiritual nationality which blended together peoples of every tongue and every race. He has left with us as the indelible characteristic of this Muslim nationality the thread of false gods and the passion for the one and immaterial God. This avenging patriotism against the profanation of Heaven formed the virtue of the followers of Muhammad; the conquest of one-third of the earth to his dogma was his miracle; or rather it was not the miracle of a man but that of reason. The idea of the unity of God, proclaimed amidst the exhaustion of fabulous theogonies was in itself such a miracle that upon its utterance from his lips, it destroyed all the ancient temples of idols, and set on fire one-third of the world. His life, his meditations, his heroic reviling against the superstitions of his country, and his boldness in defying the furies of idolatry, his firmness in enduring them for fifteen years at Mecca, his acceptance of the role of public scorn and almost of being a victim of his fellow countrymen. All these and finally his flight, his incessant preaching, his wars against odds, his faith in his success, and superhuman security in misfortune, forbearance in victory, his ambition which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayer, his mystic conversations with God, his death and triumph after death all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was two fold, the unity of God, and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is one; the one throwing false gods with sword, the other starting an idea with the words.

?Philosophers, Orator, Apostle, Legislator, Warrior, Conqueror of ideas, restorer of national dogmas, of a cult without images, the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and one of spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he??

    Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869)

?The Genuine Islam?, ?I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make it appeal to every age. I have studied him-the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the savior of humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness. I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today?.

    George Bernard Shaw (1856?1950)

"Now would have been the moment to gratify his ambition, to satiate his lust, to get his revenge. Read the account of Muhammad's entry into Mecca along with the account of Marius Sulla as he entered Rome, one would be in a position to recognize the magnanimity and moderation of the Prophet of Arabia. There were no proscription lists, no plunder, no wanton revenge. From a helpless orphan to the ruler of a big country was a great transition; yet the Holy Prophet retained the nobility of his chracter under all circumstances."
    (R. Bosworth Smith (Muhammad and Muhammadism)

Thomas Carlyle in 'Heroes and Hero Worship and the Heroic in History,' 1840

"The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only."
"A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world, the world?s Maker had ordered so."

De Lacy O'Leary in 'Islam at the Crossroads,' London, 1923.

History makes it clear, however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated.

Edward Gibbon and Simon Oakley in ?History of the Saracen Empire,? London, 1870
"The greatest success of Mohammad?s life was effected by sheer moral force."

?It is not the propagation but the permanency of his religion that deserves our wonder, the same pure and perfect impression which he engraved at Mecca and Medina is preserved after the revolutions of twelve centuries by the Indian, the African and the Turkish proselytes of the Koran....The Mahometans have uniformly withstood the temptation of reducing the object of their faith and devotion to a level with the senses and imagination of man. ?I believe in One God and Mahomet the Apostle of God? is the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of the Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol; the honors of the prophet have never transgressed the measure of human virtue, and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion.?

Mahatma Gandhi, statement published in 'Young India,'1924.

I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind.... I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the second volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of that great life.

and some so called Muslims says who is Muhammad? I don't know him, I don't want to know him!

And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition.

      Salam Raaajah,

Well done. May Allah and he be pleased with you.

Words with us will always fall short to praise him, his granedur is above our capability to define and express it equal to that. Only Allah can and has described his greatness, in the Grand Qur'aan.

Nobody would deny who was Prophet Mohammad...For whatever he achieved in his life does that give you permission praising him day and night?

Whatever he did, does that mean he did it to receive your praise day and night?

For whatever he did in his life God asked him in 1779 for more meditation in order to raise his rank in Hereafter unless you want to tell me that he did whatever he did for his earthly life.

And finally what are you trying to tell us that instead focusing on praising God day and night we should share our focus on Prophet Mohammad too?

I've always been a bit confused about this topic. Isn't Muhammad already in the presence of Allah, and hasn't he achieved the ultimate peace? Why do people pray for peace to be granted to a dead prophet who has received his measure? Or am I missing something in the quran about how your status in paradise can be raised by the prayers of the living?

I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm just curious about these practices. I am also curious why so many people still feel the need to say 'bless you' after you sneeze, despite knowing the history of the practice. Two separate topics, both as superstitious as the other from where I can see.

Why do you feel insecure whenever Mohamed was mentioned historicczly ? don't eel insecure, he was a great man, and deserve to be known hisotrically specially he was the man whom muslim sects gave him a bad caracter and slandered him by the imams who were the enemies of god and the messenger , under the cover of been muslims

There is no worship if someone say prophet mohamed was a great man, or talk aout his history and all
the only thing that god commanded us in the quran , is to take the quran as our only guide, and only book for legislation and all, but the Quran never said forget mohamed or moses or anybody, he said we have to learn from their stories in the quran, and mohamed is one of them, his story is everywhere in the quran

but the quran also advise us to look in archeology and all to see how the generations of the past lived, and mohamed is one of the generations of the past, and because he is the messenger of God whom was blessed with the quran, than we have to know his caracter, how truthfull he was , bec?use u have to verify the messenger's caracter to accept the news.

nothing wrong to know about him, but only follow the book the mohamed brought from god and no other book.

We cannot disdain or hide as if it was some shameful family secret the person who was entrusted by the Most Merciful with the transmission of a message and fulfilled that task magnificently, to the point that today all of us can rely on the completitude and faithfulness of that message. The Most Merciful called him the seal of Prophets, and there are not Prophets after him, because his message complete is already with all of us, his successors and companions in timelessness. Acknowledging the message he was given and he gave us, we acknowledge receipt, we acknowledge our nature, our khilafe nature and prophetic nature, we are his companions and the companions of all the good men and women who have followed His messages. It s courtesy to the messengers of God, to the bet of companions that we think of them with affection and sincerity, and if we think we may feel also like expressing it aloud.

Finally, doesn't it give some feeling of encouragement that we are successors of all the line of the faithful, of the submitted of all ages, that we are not an island, but prt of a wonderful universe that worships the One.

Would you think defending monotheistic ideology through message of God means feeling insecurity?

Making distinction among the messengers of God is what Raaajah is doing here plus making an idol beside God. I wonder if he would pay the same kind of tribute to other messengers of God.
He is trying to make a point that Prophet Mohammad is above the other messengers of God and should be praised for it.
God has already told us in the Quran that messenger sets a good example .Why God didn?t use the word of Prophet there?

It wasn?t Mohammad who achieved what he achieved in his life to be praised for now. It was God and His Message that he followed .God supported him to win the battles and God guided him all the way till his death?.His mission was to deliver the message not that achieving what he wanted to do in his private life in order to become an idol beside God to be praised .

Those thinkers praised him but I wonder which one of them truly became a Muslim in Eyes of God by accepting/believing in One god and His message that Mohammad fought and lived for it as they don't praise him for that now.

There is nothing wrong in remembering who messengers of God were. As a matter of fact it?s beneficial remembering in what they did in the cause of God by setting a good example but not in that extend to make them god beside God to rival Him like praising Prophet day and night by taking the beads in hand counting the number of Salawat on him instead of glorifying God and commemorating God through His message.

Yes you?re right God advise us to search the earth and study it like archeology to get to know who God the Creator is and what His message is all about and why worshiping Him alone is necessary. He doesn?t ask us to study them in order making an idol out of His Creatures beside Him like what Raaajah meant in doing so here.

He keeps emphasizing on 1779 to remind us the status of prophet that he should be praised. That was all his point by writing such a thread??.In no where in his thread he praised God for the blessing that He sent on us by sending Mohammad as a messenger to save our souls??.

Please reread his thread and see who the center of focus is by him and those thinkers, is it God and His message that deserved to be praised at the end or Mohammad as a human being who without God?s message and support was nobody? Please pay attention to how he finishes his message too.

All messengers of God lived and died for God's message and Him Alone to be praised but human beings try to shift the focus on God to His powerless creatures by the name of messengers and Saints to be praised too?..This was the hidden message of Raaajah?s thread.

                      All praises due to God

Both the aayaats quoted above is not ONLY referring to Prophet Mohammed (AS) as the another aayat also quoted as

Allah is very specific about His words.

I need not to answer for those who got irritated whenever the name Muhammad Peace is upon him is used, Quran answers for itself they "have to wait for Allah's decision/command"

You, the Messenger pronounce, "If your fathers, and your sons, and your brothers, and your spouses and your clans;and the wealth that you have acquired, and the business you people fear recession in it and the residences you are delighted with are more attractive and dearer to you people than Allah and His Messenger and endeavoring/exerting utmost with wealth and bodily/physically for His cause/path then wait until such time Allah proclaims His decision/command.

Those who try to bring Nafaaq in the Ummah by pronouncing different numbers of prayers and make their own Salaat, Quran answers to them, those who follow false prophets and make separate Masjid quran answer to those

As for those who have set up a mosque, causing harm and out of disbelief, to create division between the believers, and in readiness for those who previously made war on Allah and His Messenger, they will swear, "We only desired the best." But Allah bears witness that they are truly liars. Do not ever stand in it. A mosque founded on fear of Allah from the first day has a greater right for you to stand in it. In it there are men who love to purify themselves. Allah loves those who purify themselves. Who is better someone who founds his building on fear of Allah and His good pleasure, or someone who founds his building on the brink of a crumbling precipice so that it collapses with him into the Fire of Hell? Allah does not love wrongdoers. The buildings they have built will not cease to be a bone of contention in their hearts, until their hearts are cut to shreds. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (Surat at-Tawba, 107-110

Muhammad has not been the father of single one from amongst your men, and he in fact is the Final Messenger of Allah and The Finalizer of the series of Distinct, Elevated and Chosen Ones of Allah And Allah is Ever All-Knower/Aware of each and everything.

3144 And Mohammed is but a messenger, like many messengers who have passed before him. If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm God in the least. And God will recompense the thankful.

This ayat is totally out of context of what is being discussed.
"Muhammad is but a messenger" Yes he is
"Like many messengers who have passed before him" True
"If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm God in the least" Very true
"And God will recompense the thankful" No doubt

But where does this ayat says that we should not love Muhammad peace is upon him? it even never goes near it, this ayat in-fact confirms the status of Muhammad Peace is upon him as a messenger.

So who are those passed away messengers Allah is comparing him

                                  "O Maryam! indeed Allah gives you the good news of the son named Meseiha, Easa son of Maryam, with this word/promise from Him that he will be respectable and honorable in this world and the Hereafter, and he will be amongst the near-ones of Allah;

                                  for Ibraheem (As) he said
His Sustainer Lord said "I declare you as Imam/Leader for people."

We elevate the ranks for whom We so will.
Indeed your Sustainer Lord is eternally and intrinsically The Wise, The All Knower of apparent and invisible/ secreted/infolded And to him We gifted Ies'hauqe and Ya'qoob All of them We guided. And We guided Noah in aforetime And guided in his posterity Da'ued, and Sulie'maan, and Ayub and Yusuf and Musa and Haroon. And in this way We reward those who conduct moderately, gracefully and generously And guided Zakariyya, and Yahya and Easa and Ilyas; each and every one of them was amongst righteous/perfectionists..And Iesma'eile and Al-Yasa'a and Yunus and Lut . And We gave all of them over and above the entire humanity the uniqueness/sanctity/individuality/distinction

Did you see brother Layth what was the status of these messengers

Therefore when Allah says he is But a messenger like those who passed away it is meant he is with those who are not ordinary but with those who are chosen/selected/distinct/unique.

And Muhammad peace is upon him is no doubt unique.

That is the message of Muhammad peace is upon him.
But Allah praises Muhammad Peace is upon him

May be it is near that your Sustainer Lord may revive/return you to the original Place/Abode of Glory and Praise.

Secondly this verse is during the war of Uhud when Muslims were defeated. Muslims left the battle field as soon as they hear the Prophet Muhammad peace is upon him has been killed, therefore they suffered a humiliating defeat, lots of close companions of Prophet left the battle field in this time. Thus the Ayat was revealed; Allah questioning those who left the battle field after hearing the rumor of death of Prophet, What if prophet dies a natural death or is killed will the Muslims turn away? and then warns them if they will turn away, they will be losers themselves.
Later in next verses Allah tells that a time is destined for every one written in the book.

                                  Allah Ho Akbar!

Words with us will always fall short to praise him, his granedur is above our capability to define and express it equal to that. Only Allah can and has described his greatness, in the Grand Qur'aan.

                                    Mohammed M. Khan

is plural, and the pronoun referring to them is also plural . This Ayat has nothing to do with the Messengers of Allah, they are not idols.

Allah quotes the Messengers alongwith/besides His Own Self.

Paradise is only for those who believed in Allah and His Messengers. People Believing in Allah alone are NOT entitled for the Paradise.

For read part of my quote

and if, when they people did wrong themselves, they had come to you, the Messenger then sought forgiveness of Allah and for them The Messenger sought forgiveness for them thereby surely they would have found Allah paying attention mercifully.

Those who are under a sekf deceiving thought of loving Allah vehementally conveniently forget this that to get reciprocal love of Allah is now conditional

You the Messenger, pronounce, "If you people love Allah, then consciously incline yourselves to follow me, in letter and spirit, without in between there being third party intervention, Allah will in response love/appreciate and acknowledge act of you people and for you He will overlook/forgive your wrong-doings"

                                      Asana

To tell you the truth, I see nothing wrong to study a prophete, any prophet's history, but it will always be innacurate
and one point, I don't celebrate the Mawlid ( birthday of mohamed ) and I don't believe in this holiday for only one reason, I don't see anywahere in the Quran Mohamed celebrating it, so it is a religious invention , therefore it's a celebration against mohamed's will himself. I don't believe prophet mohamed or his companions cared about their legacy, or about been mentioned in history, because they knew what is life all about.
One thing I believe, all these people who worship mohamed , are actually worshiping an imaginary mohamed, because we know nothing about mohamed except what is in the quran, nothing, everyone know that mohamed didn't write his teachings nor his companions, ecept 200 years after that, they invented all kinds of stories about him. because those who wrote Ahadiths, are liars, they lied about the religion of god, what make us know they say the truth when they said that mohamed was 2 centuries before them ?
I believe all we know about mohamed in only what's in the quran, we don't know more about him of what we know about abraham or moses , maybe if they open that grave in Median ,they won't find no mohamed nor abu bakr, wich might be 2 persons fiiction. god only knows where mohamed was buried, and where other prophets were buried .
so don't worry , those who worship mohamed, are worshiping a fake story and an imaginary mohamed. same as jesus, god only knows when jesus was and where he is buried. god didn't leuave his chosen pious people to be worshiped
if we want to know about mohamed, or jesus or moses, we have to start digging in archeology, and I am sure if people do, the world will be shocked for we will find totally different people than what we imagine.

remember, people believe there is a Peter, and he was in Rome.
worship is a pagan word, that is not supposed to be in Islam, We Serve God.

Have you noticed where Islamic history came from ?
                                      TABARI
and Tabari used subliminal messages to influence and take the religion ashtray, satanic way
You read his narrators, and see
one of his narrators is named AL Bezi , if you read it in arabic in reverse, it means penis
one of his main narrators is called Sudey, if you read it in reverse, it means yaduss, meaning satanic insertion.
he invented the name Abu Bakr, Siddiq , they say the prophet married Aysha the only Bekr, if you notcie, this personnage Abu Bekr, means father of the virgin, so no one knows this name
so in reality, Islamic history is a fabrication of Tabari, and those followed like bukhari etc...
no one knows mohamed, just like no one knows moses or abaraham, except what we have in the quran.
satan worked hard, the influence is deeper than we think. takes a while, maybe another generation, our kids who will have a naturel coranic education, maybe they will know the way more than we do.
                                      Salam

                                        Please folks...Stop the idol worship!

Only God is worthy of our praise and worship...Be He glorified.

3144 And Mohammed is but a messenger, like many messengers who have passed before him. If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm God in the least. And God will recompense the thankful.

                                        bravo

i dont think praising somebody means your worshiping them. i praise my friends who do something admirable, my mother, my grandfather....and i think Muhammad deserves praise...and we should find out more about him..his life etc..from history as well as the quran...same goes for abraham, moses, noah...all the prophets...they were great people who all deserve acknowledgment and praise, and are role models for muslims.

praising someone is very different from worshiping them...follow the quran only, but acknowledge the person who had the strength and wisdom to deliver it.
