9108 You shall never pray in such a masjid. A masjid that is established on the basis of righteousness from the first day is more worthy of your praying therein. In it, there are people who love to be purified. GOD loves those who purify themselves.
9109 Is one who establishes his building on the basis of reverencing GOD and to gain His approval better, or one who establishes his building on the brink of a crumbling cliff, that falls down with him into the fire of Hell? GOD does not guide the transgressing people.

maqman mamdan is the station that is unknown to us .Whatever it is ,it?s a high rank which take place for prophet in Hereafter/Paradise???.Please reflect on the verse .God is asking prophet to meditate during night in order to attain that station??God doesn?t surely tell him to meditate on Him to be praised in this world by people??.If you praise Mohammad 24/7 doesn?t have any effect on his soul because it is God who bestows on him that station due to his meditation done on this earth . This alone nullifies your interpretation and understanding.
If you are after that since he attained that station then you should praise him day and night, mentioning his name in your Salat, testifying a false Shahada and making distinction among God's messengers then you are not following him through the message that he lived and fought for. Prophet never sat there watching people counting the beads in their hands by sending salawaat on him?prophet didn?t ask to testify to his messngership because he delivered the message that people must believe in him ?Prophet never meditated on God that later on people praise him for day and night . He did it to attain that station promised by God?And you?re insulting him by keep quoting 1779 in a way that he meditated for receiving adoration in people?s eyes. What you do is misusing and abusing that verse.

As we know to Admire/praise some one,and to Worship some one are two different things, and how can one worship and make partner with Allah the person who himself was one of the BEST MONOTHEIST; this would be totally against the teachings of the person whom we admire .Therefore it is only the Jealousy against the Man who changed the life of Billions.
The thread mentions some Ayats of Quran about this great messenger/prophet, and remarks of different intellectuals about this great Man, but few cannot even digest this.Jack

You do not distinguish why God uses the Messengers in most verses instead of prophet.Translation of a speech is its version in another language. And a good translation is the one which conveys a version as nearest to the original speech as is possible through the medium of another language.
I hope you know that the Arabic word "Qul" denotes a dialogue between two. One is commanding/asking another person to do/initiate an act of telling/pronouncing a statement. Therefore while translating into English/Urdu I try to convey to the reader the essence of the Arabic word by naming the person who is being asked to pronounce to the people the following quote.
As regards the praise within parentheses, that is done in compliance to a separate order of Allah given to believers, and Alhamdo LiAllah I am a believer.

As far as I know, the exact birthday of Mohammad is not mentionned in the Qur'an. So I can't commerate his birthday, neither can I from the other prophets. But my head is spinning reading this topic. There surely is a difference between paying respect to all the messengers, praising them or making idols of them, worshipping them. I totally agree, this isn't the same thing. Don't we all have to pay respect for our parents? This is not the same as worshipping them! Young children may be do this for a while, but growing up they understand that there parents aren't 'perfect'... So they love their parents and respect them without worshipping them. Same for the messengers. Even the messengers were not perfect, why should Allah, swt, mention in the Qur'an that He forgaves the prophet past sin and the sins in the futur (during his life on earth) if he was perfect?? So we can read in the Qur'an that even Mohammed was not without sins. And Allah, swt, is the most mercifull. Does this mean that we can't praise (be thankfull, remember) Mohammed ? NO... we can praise him and all the other messengers, we can be thankfull that they devoted their life to bring us Allah's message. People who believe in Allah alone What are you trying to prove with this sentence? I am sure that every individual who in this times hear and know about Allah,swt, does this through hearing, reading about one or another messenger. All here who say they believe and follow the Qur'an, are indirectly saying that they believe the person who brought this Qur'an..... indirectly they believe that Mohammed was speaking the truth. If you don't believe a person is speaking the truth you won't believe his message or book or whatever... So I really don't see what you wanna prove with this sentence. But again, believing someone is not the same as worshipping that person! 3079-081 It is not for a human that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but , "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied." Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims? And , when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, , "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you believe in him and support him." said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." Support them, this is only possible during the lifetime of the prophet. But otherwise, when defending the Qur'an now in this times, indirectly they defend and support the messenger of the Qur'an.

For other people i may be a reminder that God did address to us, that He, Most Merciful, manifested His Mercy on us, sending us His messengers with His message, that we are acknowledging that God does speak to us, His humble servants and cares for us. There is a relationship with God. We Muslims do not have alters, have the whole universe as an altar as a praying rug for all all the time. God is not far away or in any place special, we remember He does speak to us and tells us things, we salute and ask for His blessings on the messengers, on the message. Everything is a message from God, we must know. Everyone acknowledges as he or she thinks or feels best.

true. but thats not what this thread is about. I praise the Prophet, just as i admire the rest of them...i read the bible to get any true glimpse of Jesus...i read the quran to get to know more about Muhammad, Abraham, Jesus, Moses...and i pray to be guided like they were. I appreciate them, and i dont see any signs of idol worship on this thread, so i think that your argument doesnt apply in this case.

There is no such thing. On the contrary there is a news of an happening.
And in the wee hours of the night wake, thereby, you the Messenger remain awake reading the Qur'aan. This is an additional time-bound assignment for you alone. May be it is near that your Sustainer Lord may honorably revive/return you to the original Place/Abode of Glory and Praise.
Signifies the removing of that thing which restrains one from free action. Removing of the restraint implies and results in the revival, which is the basic concept folded in this Arabic Root. On completion of the mission of delivery of Grand Qur'aan, the news of his revival to his original abode was given.
It is a fact that the One, Who has prescribed time-bound assignment of the Qur'aan upon you, He will surely return/revive you, the Messenger Mohammad honorably to the Original Abode
You, the Messenger pronounce, "My Sustainer Lord best knows the one who has come with Al-Huda-the Guide-Grand Qur'aan, and knows fully the one who is wanderer in manifest forgetfulness".
It signifies returning, reverting to the position of beginning. He made, or caused, him, or it, to return, go back, come back, or revert; sent, turned. {Lane's Lexicon}

Symmetry and Equality in the Quran

The meaning of "symmetry" in Webster's dictionary is "balanced proportion, beauty of form arising from balanced proportions, the property of remaining invariant under certain changes." The meaning of equality is "like in quality, nature, or status." There is equality and symmetry all through the Quran. There is symmetry between the flies and the humans, among messengers and messengers, messengers and their followers, male and female. When God speaks of Heaven, usually the next verse is balanced with discussion of Hell and vice versa. The same is true of day and night, the sun and the moon and so on.
God puts the believers and the messengers on the same level "The messenger has believed in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and so did the believers. They believe in God, His Angels, His scripture, and His messengers They make no distinction among any of His messengers" . Note also that He has put the messengers on the same level as us.Abraham is on the same level as the other believers "Peace be upon Abraham . . . we thus reward the righteous. . . . He is one of our believing servants" .
Moses and Aaron are also put on the same level as the other righteous believers "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. . . . We thus reward the righteous. . . . Both of them were among our righteous servants" .
God places Muhammad on the same level as the other prophets. He does not want us to make any distinction among them "We have inspired you, as we inspired Noah and the prophets after him. And we inspired Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, the Patriarchs, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And we gave David the Psalms" .
In the following verse Muhammad and his followers are placed on the same level ". . . God will not disappoint the prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will radiate in front of them and to their right. They will say, 'our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us, you are omnipotent' " . Muhammad is put on the same level as other Messengers "Muhammad was no more than a messenger like the messengers before him. . . " . God puts Muhammad and his followers on the same level. God tells Muhammad to say "Say, "This is my path I invite to God, on the basis of a clear proof, and so do those who follow me . . .' " . We too must not elevate the messengers above righteous believers.
Both Moses and Aaron are given manifest authority, and they are put onthe same level as their followers, ". . . We will strengthen you with your brother, and we will provide you both with manifest authority. Thus, they will not be able to touch either of you. With our miracles, the two of you, together with those who follow you, will be the victors" . Moses is in charge yet both of them are prophets and both have been given manifest authority. Also, it is Aaron who can speak well.
Jesus is put on the same level as the righteous "He will speak to the people from the crib, as well as an adult; he will be one of the righteous" .
There is symmetry even in criminal justice "O you who believe,
equivalence is the law decreed for you when dealing with murder the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. If one is pardoned by the victim's kin, an appreciative response is in order, and an equitable compensation shall be paid. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. Anyone who transgresses beyond this incurs a painful retribution. Equivalence is a life saving law for you, O you who possess intelligence, that you may be righteous" . If someone cuts one's ear one cannot turn round and kill him. There must be forgiveness or an equivalent esponse.All through the Quran we are told to be equitable in every thing we do, even in retribution "During the Sacred Months aggression may be met by an equivalent response. If they attack you, you may retaliate by inflicting an equitable retribution. You shall observe God and know that God is with the righteous" .
In the following verse God has perfected His blessings on the family of Jacob, not Joseph alone. That is the same way he had blessed Abraham and Isaac. They were all given the equivalent blessings. "Your Lord has blessed you (Joseph), and has given you good news through your dream. He has perfected His blessings upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He did for your ancestors Abraham and Isaac before that. Your Lord is Omniscient, Most Wise" .
God puts Mary and Jesus on the same level. He treats Mary and Jesus the same, calling them both a portent for the whole world. "As for the one who maintained her virginity, we blew into her from our Spirit and thus we made her and her son a portent for the whole world" .
The following verses put husband and wife on the same level ". . . You commit no error by mutually agreeing to any adjustments to the dowry. God is Omniscient, Most Wise" . Note that the dowry adjustment is made after mutual agreement.
Regarding divorcing a wife God says not to take back anything you have given her and says "How could you take it back after you have been intimate with each other . . ." . Note it does not say you have been intimate with her -- the women is put on the same level as the man.
The following verse demonstrate equality between male and female "Their Lord responded to them ' I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female -- you are equal to one another. . ." .
There is also a parallel between the bad men and bad women and the good men and the good women "The bad woman for the bad men and the bad men for the bad women, the good women for the good men, and the good men for the good women." .
The following verse shows the parallel between men and women "The submitting men, the submitting women, the believing men, the believing women, the obedient men, the obedient women, the truthful men, the truthful women, the steadfast men, the steadfast women, the reverent men, the reverent women, the charitable men, the charitable women, the fasting men, the fasting women, the chaste men, the chaste women, and the men who commemorate God frequently, and the commemorating women; God has prepared for them forgiveness and a great recompense" .
God spreads human beings through joining male and female; they are equally responsible "O people observe your Lord; the One who created you from one being, and created from it its mate, then spread from the two many men and women. . ." .
The following verse is about Joseph and the governor's wife. Joseph is not any better than the governor's wife except that God sent him a proof. Otherwise, "She almost succumbed to him, and he almost succumbed to her, if it were not that he saw a proof from his Lord. We thus diverted evil and sin away from him, for he was one of our devoted servants" .
Speaking of property transactions, God tells us mutually acceptable transactions are permitted "O you who believe, do not consume each other's properties illicitly -- only mutually acceptable transactions are permitted. . ." .
On the subject of idol worship ,God brings the idol to the level of a fly, telling us that both are helpless. "O people, here is a parable that you must ponder carefully the idols you set up beside God can never create a fly, even if they banded together to do so . Furthermore, if the fly steals anything from them, they cannot recover it; weak is the pursuer and the pursued" .
God tells us that the believers and those who are well founded in knowledge believe in the Quran and what was revealed before the Quran, putting both groups on the same level "As for those among them who are well founded in knowledge and the believers, they believe in what wasrevealed to you, and in what was revealed before you. . ." .
The Queen of Sheba places herself on the same level as Solomon ". . . My lord, I have wronged my soul. I now submit with Solomon to God Lord of the universe" . Note that she does not say she will follow Solomon.
God in His infinite grace makes symmetrical statements by bringing Himself to our level. The following five verses demonstrate this
". . . God supports those who support Him. God is Powerful Almighty" .
". . . If you support God He will support you, and strengthen your footholds" ."O you who believe, if you revert from your religion, then God will substitute in your place people whom He loves and who love Him. . ." .
"As for the early vanguards who immigrated (Muhajerin ) and the supporters who gave them refuge (Ansar) and those who followed them in righteousness. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him" .
"Their reward (SENOBAR FROM?)at their Lord is the garden of Eden with flowing streams, wherein they abide forever. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. . ." .
"As for you O content soul . . . Return to your lord, pleased and pleasing" .
God in His infinite grace has made Submission a symmetrical state.
"You shall remember Me, that I may remember you, and be thankful to Me; do not be unappreciative" .

i dont think praising somebody means your worshiping them. i praise my friends who do something admirable, my mother, my grandfather....and i think Muhammad deserves praise...and we should find out more about him..his life etc..from history as well as the quran...same goes for abraham, moses, noah...all the prophets...they were great people who all deserve acknowledgment and praise, and are role models for muslims.

We being the followers of Muhammad peace is upon him should not differentiate between them as Jews and Christians do.
You the Messenger, pronounce, "If you people love Allah, then consciously incline yourselves to follow me, in letter and spirit, without in between there being third party intervention, Allah will in response love/appreciate and acknowledge act of you people and for you He will overlook/forgive your wrong-doings"

I wouldnt call it research but yea.i like reading up on the prophets' struggles..the way they went about spreading the truth..the obstacles in their ways etc.i dont know about every single prophet to ever come to earth, but yea im interested in all i come across in the Book.

God's word is complete and fully detailed, but i like knowing how the righteous men of God dealt with situations. theres a reason why the Word was sent down through messengers..through ordinary humans with extraordinary strength and wisdom, instead of just a book falling from the sky. and i think its partly so this "test" can be a valid test..where our choice is based on us understanding the message instead of just seeing miracles happen all the time. I find comfort in knowing how even the most righteous men stumbled and got scared at times...gives me strength and allows me to tell myself that if they can do it..then maybe i can try achieving atleast some level of enlightenment as them.

I basically read the quran to get more information.....if i happen to stumble across some other source ill read it like a history book i guess...sometimes i read the bible to see glimpses of Jesus's teachings....its interesting to me, which is why i do it. nothing religious about it i guess. regarding the prophets who arent mentioned in the quran, well I have no idea about them so I dont have any interest in them. its not differentiating among them if you dont know who they are.
