To nurmuhammed
People translate Salat as a "Prayer" because maybe it would seem as a prayer, however, we do not need to pray to God during salat, we could glorify, praise God and recite other verses about his qualities and magnify God.
Du'a is supplication = what you think of as "praying"
Whether you believe in physically worshiping God not, When it's Resurrection day time, we will see some humbleness and obedience shown to God Almighty, whether you call it worship or servitude. To lordfox
Salat would be first establish by Abraham. not the previous prophets.
Please consider what you statesd as "Allah never changes his sunnah" ?This is not the case with Religious rights however.
God Almighty commanded different laws in the Torah and Gospels and Quran.... This would not fit into "God doesn't change his system"
"Then we revealed to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming previous scriptures, and superseding them. You shall rule among them in accordance with God's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. For each of you, we have decreed different laws and rites. Had God willed, He could have made you one congregation. But He thus puts you to the test through the revelations He has given each of you. You shall compete in righteousness. To God is your final destiny?all of you?then He will inform you of everything you had disputed. (54Thus Adam/Noah etc might not have practiced Salat/Zakat
Thus Abraham didn't Uphold the Torah or the Gospels
"O followers of the scripture, why do you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Do you not understand? (365)Thus, the different commandments and rites would not be subjected to "God's system doesn't change"
Noah might have had different laws and rites than us.
Salat would have been first established to AbrahamAbraham and Ishmael Prayed to God " "....Teach us the rites of our religion, and redeem us. You are the Redeemer, Most Merciful" (212
"We made them imams who guided in accordance with our commandments, and we taught them how to work righteousness, and we revealed to them the observance of Salat and Zakat..... (2173)http//aididsafar.com/translation.html >
2238 Guard over all the commitments and commit yourself moderately and be upright for God - in obedience.
2239 If you are skepticism ? thus - take a walk or take a ride. Consequently, when you are settled ? hence remember God the way He teaches you - whatever you do not know.reformist translation >
2238 Preserve the contact prayers, and the middle contact prayer, and stand devoutly for God.
2239 But if you are in a state of worry, then you may do so while walking or riding.
If you become secure, then remember God as He has taught you what you did not know.what do you think about it Youssef?

The problem is clear, but again, none are as blind as those who care not to see. If we choose to interpret ''salat'' as a method of communication with Allah, may it be ritualistic or not, and say that Abraham was the first one to do it, then we must judge prophet Noah's story within the Qu'ran as absolute conjecture.
Allah never changes his sunnah, and thus, that prophet Abraham was the first person to uphold ''salat'' is to say that he was the first human being on this earth.
This is just one of the many flaws within your interpretations.
I'm not sure what you mean. I said that I don't feel Abraham was the first, for the same reasons you just gave. I agree with what you just wrote... that provided Salat is some sort of communication, it would be odd to think Abraham was the first to use it. But then again, it all depends on what Salat actually is... and that is not clear... not to me at least. So what you quoted of my earlier post actually agrees with you response... and therefore I can't see how THAT is one of my so called flaws of interpretations. We say the same thing! The only difference as I see it then, is our take on whether Salat is a type of communication or not. What is your understanding of Salat bytheway?
-
Retarded purpose.
I remember Allah a lot and have never prayed.
Such eloquent wisdom. I guess you have never repented and asked for forgiveness from God for your transgressions? Because that is a form of prayer too. Never asked for guidance from Him? Never asked for help from Him? Those are prayers too.

Nope, they're not.
And I have told you many times, stop annoying me.

Aided safar comes and tells us that worshiping is not really right.... after thousands of years of people worshiping God, across multiple scripture!
I have asked for guidance and this is what God Almighty guided to; To worship.
What will people do during Resurrection day? is it not feasible to say people will be humble and be servile towards God Almighty ?
Is worshiping God wrong? is taking around 20 min focusing on contacting God 3 times a day and showing some devotion to God Almighty wrong? -

So when you repent and ask for forgiveness or for help from God, what is it then if it is not a form of prayer? Who are you calling on and why is it recommended in the Quran? Why does God tell us about prophets, messengers and the righteous doing such things that He deems good/beneficial/required for us?
Surely you are not to arrogant to bow down, prostrate and ask God for forgiveness and for help are you?

No, I leave those things to fools like you who possess no reason whatsoever.

wow,
should we not unit? we're the minority here.
A house divided against itself WILL NOT STAND! (mathiew 1225)
what happened to retaliate evil with good and say what is better?
THE DEVIL TRIES TO PUT ANIMOSITY AND HATRED BETWEEN US!!! (1753)The devil would probably laugh at us.
Pray that God would unit us and support us! -

Kaioken,
How would one, according to your understanding, approach second part of verse 15?
What does it mean and how does one do it?
I'm just curious to see it from your point of view.Iyaaka nastaeen
only you we ask for helpPrayer is a ritual, asking Allah for help within yourself is not prayer nor anything close to a ritual.
Also please don't ask me with such translations again, I only accept translations by Abdun Nur and sometimes Aidid Safar, as those seem most close to what my common sense can agree with

Asking God withing yourself. what do you call that?
asking? beseeching? invoking?
Some people might see that as Prayer. What's the definition of prayer -

And yes the translations are bad so I won't trust them.Prayer is an invocation or act that seeks to activate a rapport with a deity or object of worship through deliberate communication. Prayer can be a form of religious practice, may be either individual or communal and take place in public or in private. It may involve the use of words or song. When language is used, prayer may take the form of a hymn, incantation, formal creed, or a spontaneous utterance in the praying person. There are different forms of prayer such as petitionary prayer, prayers of supplication, thanksgiving, and worship/praise. Prayer may be directed towards a deity, spirit, deceased person, or lofty idea, for the purpose of worshipping, requesting guidance, requesting assistance, confessing sins or to express one's thoughts and emotions. Thus, people pray for many reasons such as personal benefit or for the sake of others.
Most major religions involve prayer in one way or another. Some ritualize the act of prayer, requiring a strict sequence of actions or placing a restriction on who is permitted to pray, while others teach that prayer may be practiced spontaneously by anyone at any time.
Scientific studies regarding the use of prayer have mostly concentrated on its effect on the healing of sick or injured people. The efficacy of petition in prayer for physical healing to a deity has been evaluated in numerous studies, with contradictory results. There has been some criticism of the way the studies were conducted.Don't mind what I said on the previous post, I don't know how to express it well so I'm misunderstood

Ok, so do I understand it correctly that you agree that one rightly can ask Allah for help within oneself?
Do you use any specific word for this "asking within"... so that we can speak the same language, and since you do not accept the english word 'pray' even when it is used for 'asking within' and not for anything ritualistic.
is not a translation. And 'iyaaka nastaeen' is the transliteration. And Aidid Safar translates it as 'only you we ask for help'. If you know where I can find Abdunur's translation of the quran... please let me know coz I haven't found it on the SOL website.

I said to disregard my previous posts, I used the wrong words because I couldn't really find the right ones and still can't. Don't know how to express it
Abdun Nur's quran is faaaar from being fully translated

Thanks for the link to SOL quran pages. I quickly checked Abdunur's interpretation of surah fatiha... and unless one has done some deeeeeep study of arabic... it would be blind faith to just follow his translation. We are afterall told in the quran to not uphold anything that we have not verified ourselves... so I'm telling you... Abdunur's stuff is not verified in just a jiffy... it will take some serious research. So be careful... if you don't know arabic, and even if it makes sense to you... relying of Abdunur's translation, without verifying it.... is blind faith.
Note that I'm not saying Abdunur is wrong.... but I won't uphold it until verified and it makes sense through logical analysis in the light of the rest of the quran and its language.
Also please don't ask me with such translations again, I only accept translations by Abdun Nur and sometimes Aidid Safar, as those seem most close to what my common sense can agree with
