    Peace....

I would like to introduce myself. I'm just ordinary guy living in Asia, in one of the largest Muslim population in the world.

My religious background was sunni, as commonly as all Muslims in my country which raised as sunni from born, we have quite strong religious environment here, ok actually it is really really strong. I raised with all the 'traditional Islamic dogmas' and have strong faith in it, and just blindly following and happy with it.

I became interested to read more books and hadith after I got married, though I read many books before but not as intense as this time. I just want to find out the truth, real purpose of life and why we are here in earth, and I was looking the answers from the 'religious books' and hadith etc, but I felt some link is missing but I didn't know what. I started to get curious when I read one of Ibnu Katheer book, the last chapter which has been translated to English, at first I was in awe reading it because Katheer detailed everything of the process of resurrection until the description of Heaven and Hell, he even knows the color of the wardrobe, who resurrected first, who is being judged first and all that scene just like watching the future unreleased movie. But then this only increase my doubt afterwards, how the hell he knew it all.... strange. First time on my life I start to have doubt on so called hadiths, actually I blacklisted Katheer because he seems spreading false hadith, I still believe in overall hadith, but I start seeing empty hope, my life crumbled.

Then I kept reading other books, but with less enthusiasm, it seems I wont get the answer that I was looking for, I start to doubt all. My life was in dismay and future seems bleak, where I can find the truth? What is the truth, I don't even know what it is anymore.

Then in around end 2010 and early 2011 during my search, I bumped into the Quran alone ideology for the fourth time, in the past I encountered this ideology three times already (during year 2000-2006), first I really forgot who because I dont know him personally, the second from a gardener in my friend's home, the third from a friend of my father who I met seldomly, the fact was, they were the one approaching me and asked me to study Quran and leaving hadiths. I skipped all these three events and consider them as evil brickwall

The fourth time I bumped into Quran alone ideology is from an online website, this was during my search on 2010-2011, in fact I didn't expect it to change my belief, I study it just to put down my curiosity and to have chance to bash it once and forever this evil ideology >(

But turns out after I study it halfway, my heart trembling, I'm shaking, I cried and cried upon seeing the truth presented before me, I knew something very important was there, it takes many sleepless night and few months before I finally convinced myself that this is the truth from God Almighty, it was so hard to remove the traditional faith that has been with me since I was kid. I prayed that may God blessed me with siratal mustakim - the straight path and has mercy on my soul to know the truth, I'm very thankful that God shows me this path, and I become Quran alone follower since. My life changed, drastically and for the better. I'm a humble man now.

I managed to convince my little brother to follow Quran alone, he is indeed a smart and blessed one, sometime I learn something from him. And then I managed to convince my sister too, but I dont have the time yet to discuss this in depth with her, but she is all set in the right step. My aim now is to deliver this good news to my parents and my other brother, but I expect this will be hard, because my parents have been sunni for all their life and very strong at it, I often prayed to God to let them see the straight path.

Then here I'm, a year passed since I became Quran follower, I still has a lot to learn, may God has always shower me with knowledge, mercy and the truth. I come to this forum to make friends from the believers, and hopefully can learn something, and convey my opinion.

    Salam.

      w/salaam,

      Welcome.

The fourth time I bumped into Quran alone ideology is from an online website, this was during my search on 2012-2011...

      What website was it?

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

        w/salaam,

        Welcome.

        What website was it?

Peace Wakas, glad to meet you.

First I stumbled upon www.submission.info, witnessing the miracle of 19 is the beginning of my journey, I read Dr. Rashad article on Quran and Hadith which changed my view entirely. Then I also visit 19.org, read Edip Yuksel articles, and many other wesbites including including free-minds.org

By the way it was during 2010-2011, I edited my post already.

You will learn a lot from this forum and maybe in time you will meet others who share your views. It can be a very hard process to break away from hadith as in my experience (even as a convert) I can see that many people consider it quite evil even to seriously question the hadith, let alone break free from it. Their attachment to hadith is so strong - it amazes me. It sounds like you've come a long way already and may God make things easier on you when it comes to speaking with your parents about this.

Welcome. I hope you will increase your knowledge here. I'm glad you have such a supportive family. My family is either Sunni or Christian. They respect my beliefs but I've been trying to get them over to my side with little to no avail.

That is so true. There is always that fear that muslims would simply reject me as a muslim and judge me simply because I don't view hadith in that high regard

Thank you for sharing your story.

It is funny though that you started asking yourself about the purpose of why are we here, just exactly when got married.
It happened to some of my other friends, too. )

At the end you say you convinced, and talked into Quran-alone idea, almost everybody, your younger bright brother, friends, etc, etc, but you do not mention your wife? What about her? Can she read, or is she not religious? Because you see, I think for you to be perfectly happy you should be in harmony with the person you spend most time with!

I would like to ask you a little thing, could you please tell me where did you read those turning point information, and which site it was that moved you to tears? Was it something else, or just MasjidTuscon website? Thank you.

But turns out after I study it halfway, my heart trembling, I'm shaking, I cried and cried upon seeing the truth presented before me, I knew something very important was there, it takes many sleepless night and few months before I finally convinced myself that this is the truth from God Almighty

thank you good logic, Godsubmitter and BornAgain.

Yes my life changed drastically after I got married, I felt getting married was a huge blessing for me, I was living in other country previously and living like hell, I meant lot of stress, due to work (business) and relationship, I kept questioning the quality of my life that time, I never prayed, never do anything righteous, I was really ashamed of my life, felt it wasn't me.

Then I got back and met my wife, a friend form from my childhood, and just deciding to marry her and never get back to that other country anymore.

After I got married things turned the opposite, I starting seeing that my life has purpose lol, and most important made me closer to God.

My wife is now following Quran alone too, I almost preached to her till she gets boring everyday. At first she had a little interest, until one day she saw on TV (which specially aired Quran recitation and translation) and she found that what I've told her indeed there.

In our custom, Quran is not to be read (its translation), but to recite like singing, to understand its meaning is not necessary, even most believe reading the translation by ourselves is not good because we must learn from the expert to know the meaning, BornAgain must know this as we at the same country D

                                          Thank you for the answer.

I also like listening to chanting of the Quran, especially since I've heard that some people think it has even soothing affect, even curing effect, like Rukiya and stuff...

But you did not answer my little question )
I would like to ask you a little thing, could you please tell me where did you read those turning point information, and which site it was that moved you to tears? Was it something else, or just MasjidTuscon website?

                                          Thank you.

Glad that you find more knowledge and closer to God brother, may God bless you more.
By the way in my opinion do not concentrate on chanting Quran without you understand or read its translation (meaning). As Quran is actually a guidance, so we should read and learn to understand, I agree in some degree listening to Quran recitation (in Arabic) is soothing, but without really learning it, I believe it is just inviting God's wrath. As God send Quran to be read and learnt.
Also do not believe that Quran can cure or some sort of that, as the cure is coming from Allah only, some people making Quran as magic book instead of learning it.

Yes, the web at MasjidTucson that moved me to tears, because that was when I first realized the real reason why I'm being here in earth, so this life is not what I'm thinking about before, it is not about living as good, kind people as I believed earlier, it is actually not enough, as the real life is about to uphold one god which is God and nothing else, not even the hadith which I came to know are just conjecture. I came to realized that this is crucial part of our life and I cried because God still let me know this knowledge, means God still allow me to repent despite so many sins I have done in the past and neglecting Him.

I dont know if God fully accept my repentance or not, nobody knows, and i realized we also do not know our view is right or wrong, even we dont know whether MasjidTucson website is fully right or many of it has mistakes.

Most important in my opinion, is not to get back to old habit which is to idolize anything, not even idolizing Dr Rashad, not Muhammad, no sect even they claim as Quran alone follower like Submitter, because personality or entity is not important, the most important is the message. They are just human, we can learn but never idolize anything, we get true knowledge only when God allows.

Wish you find more truth brother and share your finding with us.
