    Salaam,

Its bad news you took it off, you have given in to the female desire to show off yourself (for who? To help the modesty of men or to attract?). The very reason women are told to cover themselves.

Salaam and I hope you reconsider our decision.

How about men showing their hair? Why is it that men are not told to cover themselves? It is said that bald is sexy!

To learn what the Qur'an says, as opposed to liberalist qur'anists who love nothing more than throwing away and difficulty in Islam, please read the following article based solely on the Qur'an, any questions are welcome.

      http//www.detailedquran.com/quran_data/The%20Quranic%20dress%20code%20for%20women.htm

      Which is found at http//www.detailedquran.com

Salaam and I hope you reconsider our decision.

Laughable. What happens to women like myself, who live in countries where covering is not the norm? I draw more attention when I am covered versus when I am not. Oh, and even though I am not covered anymore, I do not receive looks, attention or glares from lusting men. I believe it is not just because of the way I dress (modestly) but because of my behavior.

I act and carry myself as a woman devoted to God. That is what makes the difference.

      Peace.

The Qur'an does not warrant at all that covering of women is destined to keep men off temptation. Not at all. And there is no instance in it of any woman tempting any man because of her looks.

But there is a mention of a man tempting women and make tham do follies because of his looks. So, if anybody should cover because of looks, it should be men. Cute men.

        Salaam

You are right...from what I have read there is nothing there regarding it either. You know just as well as I what most women are taught, however. (

One should think that the hijabists who keep pounding on women to outdo anything said in the Qur'an have obviously no knowledge of a man named Yusuf in the Book, or they think the Qur'an is lying or they trust the whole world is so stupid that it is not going to notice the travestism of hijab for women.

Did Yusuf, when all the women and one particular woman wanted to have with him more than words feel powerless to resist? Did God at that time tel any woman to cover her head or whatever? No. Not at all. So when it would have been most to the point to say something on that, the Qur'an does not miss the opportunity to shut up. Fancy that.

                        Salaam

The problem i would say is young Egyptian men. Some act like they've never seen a woman before. gropping and molesting girls in public! nope

The problem is not only young Egyptian men. It's men of all ages and social classes who harass women here in Egypt ? regardless of whether they are wearing hijab or not.

A true Muslim should never harass a woman not even if she is naked. Jesus/isa said that by their actions you will know the hypocrites, a bad tree will never bear edible fruit. The way people behave only shows how rotten an hypocrite they are in the inside. their actions show the disease of their heart.

If they find a naked women in the street they rape her instead of asking if there is something wrong, how convenient. Matthew 2333 ?You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?

This generation is certainly lost, except those who have believe and done the good action, and have exhorted to truth and have exhorted to patience.

                                I see no answers yet.

                                Just emotional pleading.

Do whatever you want, just don't act like its Islam.

                                You are all pathetic.

                                  Salam aleykom,

Just want to share a hopefully right decision I made recently. I took my hijab off after wearing it since I was 12, for 11 years.

It feels GREAT. I don't feel so weighed down or bothered now and its much easier to be active and just be me. I feel like a woman!

Sorry I just couldn't hold it in, I had to tell someone! D.

Now on to facing family and friends o.o....

your hair had better balance because you covered it, if your skin tans your hair tans too.
