    Salam Pierre
While reading this excellent article on salat at http//www.islamrevolution.org/salatinthequran.htm
a confusion came up. As per 4102

    ........
what I under stood is that imam will complete two rakats but each group will complete only one raka behind the imam.
    Is it so? confused

    Salaam dear brother,

(4102) When you (O Muhammad) are among them, and lead the ritual prayer for them, Let one party of them stand with you, armed with their weapons then, when they prostrated, let them withdraw to the rear, and let another party which has not yet prayed move forward, and let them pray with you, being on their guards with their weapons the unbelievers wish that you neglect your weapons and your baggage, to crack down on you in a single rush. But there is no blame on you if you lay down your weapons because of the inconvenience of the rain or because you are ill; but take your precautions. In truth, God has prepared a humiliating punishment for the unbelievers.

(4101) And if you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you if you shorten your ritual prayer if you fear that the unbelievers may cause you any harm. In truth, the unbelievers are your declared enemy.

Great observation (!) and I partially agree with you. You sensed reading the verse that it can be interpreted that the first group stood only once before the prayer was over after prostrating.
It makes complete sense that the prophet prayed only one rak'ah with the first group because of the situation of extreme danger facing the enemy and the fact we are allowed to reduce the salat in such cases as seen in 4101. When you shorten a two rak'ah salat, it is very obviously only one rak'ah instead. This is why it is not necessary for God to detail in 4101 how many rak'ahs are meant when you reduce the salat It is only one by default.
But then, since the verse says "let another party which has not yet prayed move forward" it is clear that a new salat is starting, both for Muhammad and the new group. Muhammad most likely prayed individual shortened prayers of 1 rak'ah with two or more groups, because he knew that it would give courage to his army to pray with him before many of the believers would fight and some of them die.
What the verse also shows is that it is possible to pray the same prayer several times, and not just in this specific situation of danger.
    Thanks for your remark.
    God bless you.

    Pierre

Moreover, the fact remains that We did give you the Messenger Seven Aa'ya'at-Verbal Unitary Passages that explain distinctly selected-excepted from the Binary-Symmetrical-analogous Miscellany.

Moreover, this too remains a certain fact that We have given the Grand Qur'aan to you the Messenger .

        Salaam,

1587 We have revealed to you the seven in sets of two and the sublime Quran.
Very obviously, God did not reveal to Muhammad the seven heavens paired with the earth since they were already there millions of years before him.
        Pierre

Then why should Allah say repeatedly "We have created the skies and the earth not in vain but with Truth" even 1400 years since, though they were there over millions of years? Can you bring proof from Quran to your claim that Allah had very obviously not revealed the seven heavens? 3191 is a proof that Allah reveals to those who ponder the heavens and the earth while in standing, reclining, or lying or in any position or situation, so that they, as Allah reveals to them individually would say, "Yes! Allah had not created the heavens and the earth in vain."

I am sorry but this is complete nonsense. There are countless hadith which talk about all 5 daily prayers. And if you dismiss the Sunnah then this is Kufr. Look at my other post for evidence from the Qur'an why you must obey the messenger.

?O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger??

?O you who believe! Answer Allaah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life?

?But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.?

?He who obeys the Messenger, has indeed obeyed Allaah, but he who turns away, then we have not sent you (O Muhammad) as a watcher over them.?

                Peace luckstar97,

Please note that most of us here do not follow hadith and we follow only the Sunnah of God.

Apart from this there is also hadith to support 3 prayers.

May God's light shine upon your path

                  Salaam brother,

Thanks for pointing that out. You are absolutely right. I translated it by "revealed to you" because when Muhammad was given the Quran, it was nothing but God's revelation. I wanted to emphasize the fact that the verse deals about God having revealed seven and the the sublime Quran.
This said, I realize now that the literal translation ("Given to you&quot is actually more accurate as a translation because the "seven in sets of two" are not only about sura 1 and its revelation, but about the practice of salat as well, where both sura 1 and the sublime Quran are recited. So, yes, it makes complete sense to translate literally as the verse shows the combination between the revelation (sura 1 + the Quran) and its physical application in salat in Muhammad's daily life where sura 1 serves as a frame as it is organised in sets of two, and where parts of the Quran are recited as well right after sura 1.
                  Peace.

                  Pierre

                    Salaam dear brother,

Obeying God and His messenger does not mean to obey God and questionable hadiths written down 2 centuries after the prophet's death for the earliest. It simply means in the context of the Quran that believers had to obey God and the messenger when he was alive. Now that he is not on earth anymore, we have to follow the teachings of the Quran, which contains, among so many other things, hundreds of truly authentic hadiths of the prophet. They are the only authentic hadiths we are allowed to follow, as God ordered the prophet to recite them word for word by saying "Qul", then the hadith He wanted Muhammad to recite.
Please read http//www.islamrevolution.org/hadithstheshameofislam.htm, it provides a lot more details about why many hadiths grossly contradict the Quran and took precedence it, modifying its teachings.
As for salat, it is just a ritual among others that hadiths corrupted, as the Quran only cites three names of prayers, and provides three prayer times frames (http//www.islamrevolution.org/salatinthequran.htm).
                    Peace.

Wa' alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh!

I disagree. (I have just replied in my thread) Scholars have spent their lifetimes collecting and authenticating Hadiths, their methods and the way in which they traced the Hadith leave little or no room for doubt. The weak and fabricated Hadith have been recorded and accounted for. If you want I can find the methods of these Scholars. When looking at this evidence it is very foolish to say that the Prophet (SAW) did not say these Hadith. The hadith are not
                      questionable
and to say that because they were written down two centuries after the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) makes them questionable and wrong to follow is to use the same argument that those who doubt the Qur'an's authenticity use "The Qur'an was written down many years after the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) death so therefore the Qur'an has been corrupted", which, as I am sure we can bot agree upon, is an illogical argument.

I would like to see your evidence and proof that led to your conclusion that

The article quote cannot be used to purely say that we should not follow the "false" Hadith. It itself took quotes out of context and there are far too many to quote and explain. Doing so would be wasting my time as you would not agree with me if I did.

To completely base your opinion about hadith on an article which
is biased (does not take a neutral stand point in explaining everything),
Contradicts, takes out of context, and not fully explain its points,
is (intellectually speaking) a very poor source as there is no date, no name of author, few sources cited.
And once again is only one article.

To base your point of view on one piece is foolish as you should always examine and study every viewpoint of a matter, carefully considering each point of view, putting aside all preconceived notions and then finally reach your decision.

It seems to me as if the people who follow only the Qur'an dislike the culture and practices of the PEOPLE who also follow the Sunnah with the Qur'an. As many of those people, I will agree, just follow blindly. Not little thing the Prophet (SAW) did in his life was meant to be followed (such as cleaning your bottom with stones, or riding about on a camel).

is biased (does not take a neutral stand point in explaining everything),
Contradicts, takes out of context, and not fully explain its points,
is (intellectually speaking) a very poor source as there is no date, no name of author, few sources cited.

                                Salaam dear brother,
You did not cite anything from the article and remained very vague.
One of the points of the article was to prove that when so called sahih hadiths contradict the Quran, instead of being discarded, they took precedence and abolished the Quran, which is a despicable crime. This is the case, for instance, of hadiths that claim the adulterers shall be stoned to death, or that a person who does not pray shall be killed. The Quran says that adulterers shall receive 100 lashes, not be killed, and that there is no compulsion in religion. If someone does not want to pray, it is his problem, he should not be killed.
                                Peace.

Thank you so much for providing such a detailed and enlightening explanation regarding the grammar of 1587, which confirms that the word "'ayaat" (verses) is indeed elided in the expression "sab'an min al mathani" ("the seven in sets of pairs".

                                    Salaam novice,

Please take a look at this if it helps.

                                    May Allah bless you,

                                    Salaam brother,

I respectfully disagree with the two salat theory, as there are three names of prayers, which correspond to three time frames detailed in the Quran

                                    1. Salat al fajr (Dawn salat), for instance (20130)

So be patient regarding what they say, and celebrate (O Muhammad) the praise(s) of your Lord before sunrise
                                    2. Salat al Wusta (Middle salat), for instance (301

All praise is due to Him in the heavens and the earth In the evening as well as when you reach midday (when the sun starts declining from its zenith).
                                    3. Salat al 'Esha' (Nightfall salat), for instance (177

Observe the ritual prayer (O Mohammed) at the the suns decline (when it has vanished beyond the horizon line) until the darkness of the night ( the sunset prayer cannot be observed anymore when the sky is completely dark),...

Salat al wusta (the middle prayer) is what it literally means The middle point between sunrise and sunset (Midday), as well as the prayer located in the middle of the dawn and nightfall prayers.

The above three names and time frames are nothing but a confirmation to the message of the Bible
(Psalm 5517) At evening, at dawn and at noon I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.
                                    And also
(Daniel 610) When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem; and he got down upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
Again, there is no need to reinvent the wheel.

                                    God bless you.

                                    Pierre

The entire life histories of Buhari et al is that they collected the supposed to be hadiths from well known people in every town and villages and cities and so on. Later on they go about the towns of those poor men to enquire and investigate about their characters in depth, thus inducing every people to backbite and throw slander on them; and they themselves spied on them too. Allah hates these buhari and the likes as they are sinners for they spent their entire lives eating the flesh of their own dead brothers. These, and their followers are to be reprimanded in hell as the worst sinners until the world ends and thereafter too. Allah has rightly stamped the followers of buhari et al as fundamentalists and terrorists of worst kind.

O you who have believed, avoid much negative assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful - Al Hujurat, 12.

                                          Salaam brother,
We may have some differences, but in the final analysis we all agree that Islam is about following nothing but the Quran. This is the most important.
One day, God willing, God we reunite people regarding the way they interpret His rituals.
