:: Ma Malakat Aymaanukum - مَا مَلَکَتۡ اَیۡمَانُکُمۡ ::
-
Salaam,
I am trying to put forward my current understanding on the term or Ma Malakat Aymaanukum, inshaAllah, with the permission of my Lord, Allah alone.
This term consist of three words, inshaAllah we will separate each word to get exact meaning of it. And see how these words are used in other aayaat of AlQuraan to understand it easy.
= What
Please take a look at 217, 230, etc. to look at it's meaning.= Authority/Holding authority of
This word is singular and feminine. Its plural is used as in 675. Another derivative of this is used as in 2461 from where it's meaning is fetched.= Your right hands/Your Right side
is a plural word and its singular is used in 3415. You can take a look at these aayaat 5627, 2017, etc. to understand it better.
The complete term can be translated as what your right hands holding authority of.
What could be the possible reason of adding a word in the term where only as in 2461 will do?is add to the term in order to avoid confusion. As I said above was enough to understand if it is referring to those who are directly under your authority. But that is not the case, so to avoid confusion and to clarify the term correctly, the word is added. Like
= What you have the authority of
Of keys of friend's houses as in 2461 or it may refer to slaves or anyone if there was any, but that is not the case.= What your right hands/right sides have the authority of
is added just to mention those who are on your right hand/right side. Lets say a few from my friends are on my right hand. That means, they are in favor of me/they always agree to everything with me. To understand this better, please take a look at 5627, where right side is clearly defined. For another exampleHe is my right hand. .
So in simple way, it says marry those who are under the authority of those who are your right hands.
Marry? Yes, marry them.43
43 And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphans, then marry those that please you of women, twos and threes and fours. But if you fear that you will not be just, then there is only one OR those who are under the authority of your right hands . That is more suitable that you may not incline.425
425 And whoever among you cannot means to marry alMuhsanaati alMu'minaati, then from those who are under the authority of your right hands of believing slave girls. And Allah is most knowing about your faith. You are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their family/people and give them their due compensation according to what is acceptable. chaste, neither those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take lovers. But once they are sheltered in marriage, if they should commit adultery, then for them is half the punishment for free women. This is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. These aayaat clarify enough to understand that marriage is necessary with and there cannot be any sexual relation with them without marriage. There are some other points as well to clarify it, inshaAllah, I will add them later.
This is my personal understanding of the term , please check carefully and study all the aayaat quoted in this article before accepting it.
May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

These also have proven that having sex with slaves or sex-slavery is unislamic and un-Quranic.
I also have researched Legal Guardian and this also suits the term .

A very fine choice; near to the perception of Arabic verbal sentence.
The Woman upon whom you are the Legal guardian the right hand of you have the authority for managing her affair.

Strange comparison; verb compared with a plural noun!!
And it is not a plural.
Even if so called Arabic grammar does not support it, still it is not effecting the meaning of "Ma Makalakat Aiymaanukum" in anyways, inshaAllah.
May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

Peace mmkhan
Usage of yamiin in 5627 is different with 425, because both of two ayats talking different context.
Ashaabu al yamiin in 5627 is same with 9018's.The sentence in that two verses talking about some people who get the reward.
Brother I think it's your habit for intepretate words in the Quran but avoiding the contexs of the verses. It's just like in your thread about Bani.
Btw you forgot to mention verse 2431.Because the main issue is what is mamluk, what is yamiin in that verse.
I already get discussion in this THREAD and it seems I'm still not get proper answer on that.

When the analysis of three words of a sentence is patently ridiculous, the eventual perception drawn on that basis is nothing but erroneous.

Thanks for putting forward your opinion.

mmKhanThat is not opinion; that is basic principle in adademics. How can you call perception of a sentence as correct when the analysis of individual words of that sentence is void of sense?

Typical style of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed.
I am talking about basics of languages and their translations into other language. Individual words must be understood first, then phrases and then their structuring in the sentence to know the meanings conveyed in that sentence.

mmKhanSalaam mmkhan,
Sorry if I'm interrupting you and Mazhar but I just want to answer your question regarding Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.
Since you are from India , I thought that you knew this Mirza Ghulam Ahmad guy.
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the founder of Ahmadiyya sect/cult from Qadian, India.
Ahmadiyya is divided into 2 sub-cults, Qadiani and Lahori.
He considered himself to be a Prophet, second-coming of Jesus, a Mahdi and promised Messiah.

I have read that he stated that he got pregnant rotfl , he died in a toilet/restroom because of diarrhea and many other horrible things about him and most of the writers who wrote about him cited these from Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's book(s).Sorry for offtopic
Since you have read my introduction thread, if you re-read it, you'd know how I came to know about Ahmadiyya cult.

A few comments from Allama Parwez from a long article.
"Whatever laws the Quran contains about slaves, are intended for these slaves who were already presentin society. "Ma Malakat Aimanukum" means those who are already in your possession. This is stated in the past tense, meaning something that has been done before. At the advent of Islam, like in the rest of the world, slavery was prevalent among Arabs, too. Prisoners of war were turned into slaves by them. When they embraced Islam, they already had such slaves and concubines in their homes. If Islam had ordered them all out, then there would have been chaos in the society. Hence such laws were established, like freeing the slaves as expiation for many types of sins, providing the slave with his freedom in exchange of ransom value, marrying them and thus making them legal husband and wife, etc., whereby they were given freedom gradually.
For the future, The Quran completely closed the door on slavery. This was how it was done. For prisoners of war, the order was quite clear. The Quran says that after over powering them either be gracious to them and let them go, or else take ransom and let them free(474). The door for future slavery was thus closed by the Quran forever.

Red I think if it has to say "those who are already in your possession", then in 2461 will do . This point has already been made in the opening post of this thread.
The question is why then is added when only will do? To understand this point clearly, please take a look again at the opening post.

mmKhanWhen words are taken out of a sentence they portray something different than they convey while within the sentence. these two words are what is called fragmented sentence; does not convey complete sense. The object of verb along with possessive singular masculine pronoun and then reading it with its preceding conjunct sentence would tell the difference. Here the verb denotes what is called substance---physical possession of a thing- "or that house whose keys are held by you". The other sentence signifies what is called accident--not physical but abstract---authority.
Pervez erred in not appreciating the difference of subject of verb.

Red I am aware of it. I know it is not complete. Another word like "keys" in 2461 can be added after . Let me give an example
Instead of
__________ can be written.
Blank space is to add a word for slave or whatever.I am talking about the pattern used in 2461 as
This clearly shows your authority unlike where the authority of your right hand is mentioned, and not your authority.Hope this is clear now what I am trying to say, inshaAllah.
BTW, what Parvez believes and what Qadiyani believes has nothing to do with us.
They will answer for what they did and we have to answer for our deeds.May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr
