What is HIKMA ?
-
I feel that this understanding is very sensible. Having knowledge but using it improperly, is anything but wise. What huruf also is saying (if I'm not mistaken... she can tell us) is that "using knowledge properly" implies that we use the knowledge for the good, constructive and positive ends, in a deliberate and conscious way.
Having knowledge, but being ignorant about how things (cause and effect) are connected, will result in random outcomes, some excellent, some good, some bad, some disastrous... it's like a gamble when we cannot foresee the results of our actions. This is ignorance, and thus not wisdom.
Having knowledge, and being able to foresee the outcomes of one's actions, but only using it for one's own gain and benefit... is selfish and destructive and against the system of nature/God. Although perhaps intelligent (in an IQ sense) it would not be called wise.
So, having knowledge, and being able to foresee the consequences of acting upon this knowledge, and then applying it in the best ways to maximize benefit for all involved, would be called wise.
Peace
I asked a specific question - how are you defining Hikmah - where from? Sources?

salaam all
i thank you for your comments. Thinking about Hikma is certainly a good thing for wisdom.
i think however there is something forgotten.
Quran clearly says that Hikma is something teached by messengers and anbiyas. However anbiyas cannot teach their own teachings. They would be arbabs (plural of Rabb).
Hikma is then neither teaching, neither science (ilm).
Hikma is then probably linked to kind of methodology showing how to deal with such a thingsso let ask the question in another way
How can a nabi teach hikma ?Peace

Conclude My Favour/Grace/boon like the obliging beneficence that We sent among you as a Messenger who has been a perpetual Monotheist Believer-Muslim amongst you.
He recites word by word-syllable by syllable to you people Our Aa'ya'at unitary verbal passages of the Book conveying information and facts.
And he intellectually uplifts-sanctifies you people removes shackles of conjectural myths- distortions in belief.
And he educates you to read and write the recited text imparting the knowledge of the Book; and he teaches you to attain the wisdom-capability to perceive information about invisible realities.
Realize it; he the Messenger Muhammad imparts you the information-knowledge which hitherto you did not have.

This denotes the wisdom; the faculty and capability to perceive the invisible information/data; differentiate and delineate between conjecture and fact, falsity and truth. It is the reading that exposes people to the accumulated wisdom of human civilization.

How can a nabi teach hikma ?
Peace
peace,
he observes what is intuited in his heart. he verifies it in his life. he then teaches the believers how to observe the intuition in their heart and verify it in their life. the more they observe, the more pious and god-fearing they become, they feel the nearness of God, their Lord.
peace.

Peace,
Wisdom is the ability to "see" and discern what is correct, best, sensible, for the wise one "understands",
concludes, from "experience" and "knowledge" what is "truth" that endures and what ultimately brings
"enlightenment" and peace.James 15
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.God bless

Hikmah is the Sunnah. But those whose hearts are blinded will never see.
...so wisdom is to eat with the right hand, to shave the genitals and mustache but let the beard grow uncontrolled, to wear green/black/white turbans, wear shortened pants (or shove them into the socks) and to sit squatted while drinking water??? And whomever does not necessarily find this to be wisdom, has a blind heart??? rotfl rotfl
Sorry, this post of mine was very useless and not constructive at all... but I was weak and wrote it anyway. Apologies.

PeaceYes it is wisdom to eat with the right hand, since you cleanse yourself after answering the call of nature with your left hand.
Unless the Hadith-rejecters eat with the same hand they use to cleanse themselves after answering the call of nature?? rotfl
And yes it is wisdom to shave your pubic hair, armpit hair and your mustache. That is basic hygiene taught by Islam and its actually common sense. A big mustache means hair will get into your lips and mouth which is not hygienic. This is beautiful Wisdom!
May Allah grant you the blessing to accept His beautiful wisdom and the beautiful wisdom of his Pure Prophet. Ameen
(p.s. Hadith-rejecters do not believe in saying 'Ameen' with prayers)
