Interesting to note here, is the qurnic word for "day" (/) which occurres 365 times included (&#1600]. Its pl. () and dual forms () together (27+3) constitute 30 occurrences ! And sing. / is mentioned exactly 12 times in the Qurn .

    Happenstance ?!

      Peace

the calendar has to be lunar.

      1. It is He who made the sun a shining light, and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases that you may know the number of years and account . Allah has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know.
936Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the register of Allah the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion,

The solar calendar make no sense , because if you lose track of it, you will have to wait until the next solstice to correct your error. Plus
A solar year is the time it takes the Earth to complete its orbit around the Sun ? about one year. But the actual time it takes for the Earth to travel around the Sun is in fact a little longer than that?about 365.2425 days (365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds, to be precise).
This is not for the average person to easily understand.

However , the moon tells you in every phase the stage of the month. And year in the line of the apsides perigee and apogee(nearest, farthest point).
Regardless of the culture, all lunar months approximate the mean length of the synodic month, or how long it takes on average to pass through each phase (new, half, full moon) and back again. It takes 29.5 days. six months of 30 and six of 29 make a full cycle of 354 days.

Now that of the 6 day week, I have to investigate more, for it make sense 354/7=50.57 weeks, and 354/6=59 weeks.

may God increase our knowledge and give us wisdom

can also be found in 1712, this time in relation to the day/night phenomena .

Also, 105 does not contradict a lunisolar calendar,
but rather fits well, in my book.

          217 (day)
          044 (and a day)
          041 (the day)
          023 (and the day)
          008 (so/thus the day)
          008 (to/for a day)
          005 (with/in a day)
          002 (with/in the day)
          001 (and with/in the day)

          = 349

          • 16 (a day)

          = 365

              -- what's wrong with these 80/day?

              70 = on-that-day
              05 = your-day
              05 = their-day

These i would deem secondary forms,
derivatives of formed by adding a suffix.

              like trailing alif nothing else?

= the day (definite article is l- at the beginning)

= a day (indefinite article is the mater lectionis /a at the end)

That is "...if you lose track of the solar year...

Unfortunately what is said here is not true.
God's truth is that the lunar calendar makes no sense,
because it has NO TRACK you can keep of.

                Take the prophet's birthday.
It is said that he was born on 12 Rab? al-Awwal 53 BH which was April 23, a spring day.
Peophet Muhammad was born in spring.

But this lunar year Rab? al-Awwal is in winter.
                Does that make sense?
Was he born in only spring or all four seasons?

Can a human being be born in all four seasons?
Were YOU born in all four seasons?

Thanks to G-D's marvellous design, losing track of time - as it repeats yearly - is pretty much impossible. The exception being if one chooses to be of the three mystic apes, of course.

                  Happy New Year !

Why should there be a single calendar. Calendars can be made in many different ways taking different sets of data.

Es really necessary that there should be an only calendar for all purposes?

We can ade calendars to suit our purposes and depending on what that purpose is we will select the dat that seemsmost fitting.

                    Salaam

The lunar year does not repeat yearly = each year. It comes 11 days earlier than the previous year, which means it is a different year each year. That is why it has no sense of time. For example the lunar year has no answer to your question "What season was the Prophet born?"

                          The tropical year !

                          Definitely.
The year that repeats is the tropical year, which is also called the solar year.
The solar year repeats because it has a sense of time.

The series of full moons (iddat ash-shohoor in 936) are
the full moons between two consecutive summer solstices.

The first four of them are the forbiden full moons,
whose names can be Ramadan, Dhul Hijjah, Rajab and Dhul Qidah.

The 15 June full moon in 626
and the 13 June full moon 629 are EXTRA full moons in their own series.
If they are postponed to the next series in order to concoct a 12-moon thing to be called the lunar year, it is not a year at all.
It is nothing of the sort.
It has no sense of time, no forbidden moons, no "no hunting" times, no seasons

                              Clock/Dial Analogy

Summer solstice is the equivalent of solar noon.
Its opposite/antithesis, winter solstice, is solar midnight.
Vernal & Autumnal equinoxes would thus match sunrise & sunset.

Why should there be a single calendar. Calendars can be made in many different ways taking different sets of data. Es really necessary that there should be an only calendar for all purposes? We can ade calendars to suit our purposes and depending on what that purpose is we will select the dat that seemsmost fitting.

Thank you for sharing your voice @huruf,
however, the issue here is not quantity, but quality.

But quality deends on the uses that the calendar should serve and where. Astronomical uses do not have to match agricultural uses nor agricultural in different kids of climate ad location are necessarily best served by the same calendar.

Diversity of calendar has been a constant as uch as diversity in may othr things, why, suddenly we must keep to a diet of single calendar is whimsical, as if there was scarcity of calendars.

Do you actually use any of these other "diverse" calendars of yours ?!
Or, just want to keep following the imposed/pervasive calendar of gregory & maj. ?
In which case, you're free to suit urself !

Who's against "diversity" here @huruf ?! You, or me ?
                                    Who's against exactness/efficiency and independent reasoning ?
                                    Who's against inaccuracy/deficiency and blind taqld ?!

                                        peace

The lunar year does not repeat yearly = each year It comes 11 days earlier than the previous year, which means it is a different year each year. That is why it has no sense of time. For example the lunar year has no answer to your question "What season was the Prophet born?"

This way of thinking is the result of your prostitution with the pagan western ideology. You are like prostitutes that have become madly in love with your lover.

The lunar year does not repeat yearly = each year

a lunar cycle is a year.

What season was the Prophet born

Muslims are not born in seasons. The prophet was born in a lunar phase, and he added a year to his age everytime that lunar phase repeated until he died.

even more ignorant than this questions, is to celebrate birthdays to death people.

may God increase our knowledge and give us wisdom.
