Blasphemy against God
-
Salaam guys,
I have been a lurker here for a while. Recently I started reading Quran a lot more at Fajr and Isha. However, when I am reading the Quran, I get thoughts about cursing Allah or just bad/evil thoughts in general. I am very afraid as to why this is happening to me. I am ashamed to even write this but I don't know what else to do. I have stopped swearing (before I used to swear a lot) but these thoughts to pop into my head randomly. I say "I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the Accursed' whenever I get these thoughts but am still very ashamed and depressed about them. Please help me!!! -
I had that for a while. I get the most bizarre thoughts out of nowhere. Not sure what it is. It gets milder over time. I had it the most last September when I was transitioning away from the religion of Islam towards Quran alone. I don't have it any longer.
-
When I first was finding my feet in Islam I had the same thing happen it was very disturbing but the more I purified myself from idolatry and false doctrines and the more my belief increased it gradually disappeared. I think it's just Satan trying to put the guilt on us.
Persevere, as the Quran says you will gain mastery of you are true in faith
I would highly recommend evaluating all your beliefs and practises to ensure you are following true Islam as described in the Quran, and don't whatever you can to increase your faith. Ask God for help.
I think this is a problem for many people not just believers or submitters who mistakenly believe that all the thoughts that go through our head are our own. Not saying that's you but quite often people don't realize Satan can whisper thoughts into our minds that we think they are our own

When I was a sunni I was aware of the wrong translations of the verses. My family pretty much put in my head that we couldn't truly trust the mullahs. In fact, we were used to witnessing how they lied in people's faces. Yet we stayed within the sect. I always questioned the credibility of the various practices and views though. The Islamic formula given to me didn't seem to match them at all. I was told by my family that God punished the liars and deceivers. He wanted me to take the honest path. But it clashed with their another view that we were to accept hadiths despite the fact that they "probably" were not fully accurate. It left me confused. If God was all about truth then why on earth accept fallible hadiths? I still had faith in him, but found myself irritated by the twisted verses allowing polygamy, discrimination and much more. All I told myself was, "something is seriously wrong here". I doubted the men behind the deception and not him. My this view still remains alive. It has become far stronger than before.
So certainly, I have not gone through your experience. But I am trying to understand it because it is not an isolated case. Just like Timotheus and Invalid777, some other new God alone Muslims reported similar experience. Someone is weeping and trying to change your mind You do have to seek refuge from God, but I don't think you can do this with faith alone. Could you tell us what kind of objective you draw when you set out to read the Quran? I mean is it for pleasing God, reaffirming your belief in him, applying the lessons from the verses or understanding what they are trying to say?

Well,
I have been reading the Quran as part of salaah. The goal is to strengthen my faith in God and also purify myself. I have had a lot of problems in my life and am overall an angry/ungrateful person. However, recently I have accepted Quran only Islam after getting disgusted watching Muslims run around a black cube and their current humiliated position in the world. I am just very ashamed about these thoughts in my head. I do think this is Satan saying these things but I am not sure. I fear I have already offended God and am destined for hell. I searched the Quran for any verse related to this and didn't really see anything related to this. These thoughts only pop up when I am reading the Quran or remembering God. Part of me thinks it is temporary but I am afraid nevertheless. -
Salaam guys,
I have been a lurker here for a while. Recently I started reading Quran a lot more at Fajr and Isha. However, when I am reading the Quran, I get thoughts about @#$% Allah or just bad/evil thoughts in general. I am very afraid as to why this is happening to me. I am ashamed to even write this but I don't know what else to do. I have stopped swearing (before I used to swear a lot) but these thoughts to pop into my head randomly. green & please don't ever come even far away to these kind of thoughts.
You must not say "I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the Accursed" but you have to seek refuge in Allah from satan the Accursed.
So if you feel the need to curse then curse him, he is the one who brings you to these thoughts, and seek refuge in Him.blue There is no one here on earth or in the "samaa" or wherever or whatever you can imagine or everything what He created combined in power, that can help you against Him. So maybe it's better to seek His help, only He can help you, He is The Forgiver.
Salaam,

You have taken a good step to strengthen your faith in him by reading the Quran. However, it won't go anywhere if you read it without giving importance to understanding. Of course, not everything is so vivid to anyone about what is in the Quran, for our reasoning ability is very limited by the limited knowledge we have. Mankind hasn't progressed much. That's why, we have so many debates here about the verses. Yet try your best to ponder upon what you read. Give importance to critical thinking. Dare to ask questions about them in your mind. This isn't blasphemous at all. In short, instead of reading, study the Quran. This will keep the negative thoughts away because your mind would be completely focused on just the verses. God does not forbid us from recitation, but he emphasizes the importance of understanding the Quran. Notice it in the following verses
Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an, or are there locks upon hearts?4724
a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, , that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.3829
Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction.482
Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?2368peace

GOD has made it so easy for us ,whatever we have done in the past. There is no problem
Anyone who commits evil, or wrongs his soul, then implores God for forgiveness, will find God Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Exempted are those who repent, believe, and lead a righteous life. God transforms their sins into credits. God is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
Those who repent and lead a righteous life, God redeems them; a complete redemption.O you who believe, you shall repent to God a firm repentance. Your Lord will then remit your sins and admit you into gardens with flowing streams.....
..... Your Lord has decreed that mercy is His attribute. Thus, anyone among you who commits a transgression out of ignorance, and repents thereafter and reforms, then He is Forgiving, Most Merciful."
No matter what was done, nothing is beyond redemption
Proclaim "O My servants who exceeded the limits, never despair of God's mercy. For God forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, Most Merciful.
May GOD bless you and redeem you.

(quran says you'll be one of them) to be? what is meant is to exist as or under a catergory. you breathe thinking and behave as what you chemically are (you are what you eat!)
eat unpious meat and you become impious. also taking certain people as a friend or protector makes you what ever group you take them as.this goes toward those old ben franklin sayings and such a bad apple spoils the bunch or birds of the feather flock together, and more modern your friends maybe rubbing off on you.

are you just thinking of bad jokes like some blasphemy (which for some reason can make an episode of the simpsons more exciting and entertaining, it's just more unexpected for homer to rip on ALLAH or show a depiction of jesus on family guy)?
just avoid the show and you'll be normal in a while dude.salaam

I've struggled with these thoughts since I was a toddler and they disappeared for a while when a I was on the path as a child. I got lost for a while and these thoughts became subtle when I was converting the same exact thing was happening to me while trying to read the Quran in prayer.
Seek refuge in Allah,
He is your only Helper brother
And try to whisk your mind away from such thoughts
As long as you truly repent and you feel even terrified that you are having these thoughts you are not in a bad position.
Keep praying and do not succumb, keep resisting
Do not give up the fight
The shaytan wishes you would disbelieve
But Allah has created so that you would meet His MercySalaam

Peace,
In addition to all else that has been said here by people
Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid of your anger and ungratefulness. Fear will just solidify things.
Instead, accept the weaknesses for what they are. They are habits. Don't label them as bad. Just accept that they are habits that are not helpful. They may be destructive, but don't judge them and accidently judge yourself in the process. You are not your weaknesses. They are just habits. Ask your Rabb to help you purify your mind from destructive thinking and emotional habits. It is hard work, but it can be done. Some things you can easily get rid of, other take much more work. In any case, just notice, observe and accept your condition in a neutral way. Then, seek ways to over come them, or rather, to replace them. Negative things are best cleansed by replacing them by good things that can take their place and over shadow them. Sometimes it's hard to just erase negative habits. If you have bad feelings in the mind and the body, then just pay attention to them, but don't get afraid of them. Allow them to be and they will eventuall lose power. Running away from something, or ignoring and suppressing something will often make things stick harder.
Observe, notice, allow, and do good counter measures to work away negative things in you.Fear is our worst enemy.
For those who personify Shaytan, fear is the greatest tool of Shaytan. Don't fall for fear, and don't even fear fear.
For those who think shayatn is something within us, fear hampers progress and is basically an internal mental defence mechanism gone rogue. Fear locks you down. Fear hampers the connection to our Rabb.Peace

Peace my brother,
Translation of verse 5 51 has some problems. -
Fear is our worst enemy.
For those who personify Shaytan, fear is the greatest tool of Shaytan. Don't fall for fear, and don't even fear fear.Fear is basically part of the instinct (Satan). When your mind is materialistic/hedonistic then fear may appear.

are you friends with unbelievers or Christians or jews? (quran says you'll be one of them)
Can you please specify that understanding.
Because its not the one I have. So I just want to hear how you come to such conclusion. -
