PLEASE HELP. I FEAR THE HELL
-
Peace,
I'm sure others will give you a philosophical perspective on what you should do or focus on. My advice is to take your fear and doubts and turn them into physical actions.
Every time you have any sort of fear (Hell, God, Life, Death)
- Call your parents, siblings, relatives and ask them how they are doing and if they need any help with anything.
- Volunteer at a homeless shelter
- Donate money/goods to charity of your choice
- Any positive action towards the betterment of others
And specifically say you are doing these actions for your own sake and to come closer to Allah. Even if you don't believe it at first, what does it hurt? You are still doing something positive.
My own experience was that when you have doubts about Allah they can be alleviated indirectly by doing good things. Doing those good things makes you a better person and opens your heart up. When the heart is open, Allah's message might come through.

I agree
lostINtheWORLD avoid over intellectualizing the deen. instead cling to
righteous behavior as per Quran as if your life (happiness) depends on it
(because it does). learn wisdom, understanding and patience, ask Allah
for forgiveness and for help and to be saved from the fire often. The past is what happen yesterday

Lostintheworld,
I know little about New Age, but "Hell" is not allegorical or inside of you. However "Hell" is the development ground in which you are right now. "Heaven" is a release from it and ascension away from the attachment to this world.
Hell is a place for one to become whole. The word Hell is from the word Hel in the ancient Germanic languages which means just whole. Hel still means whole in Swedish, we say 'hel'. The word health does also come from the same root and in Swedish you say 'h?lsa'. In Persian you say 'hal' (Indo-European languages).
In Semitic languages you say Salam for the same, although the final 'm' (miim) is a grammatical suffix and the root is actually 'selah' and means comfort/peace/consolation while Selam means health (condition of restfulness).
Jahannam, the Arabic version, is an unfortunate misrepresentation of what it really is in how clerics and scholars have explained it over many centuries. The word means 'attachment to the bodily' and the root is 'jinn' (Jiim-Nun-Nun). Jannah (jannateh) is also from the same root. Your cover is Jannah (the body) and al-Jann is the bodily (including the worldly). A person being al-Jann is very worldly and attached to the world.
Anyways, the intention with my post from the beginning was for you to ponder on why you say "hell" linguistically.
Be well

No. Hell and Paradise must be real places, physical ones. Because the reward and the punishment sometimes don't occur in this life, so it must be a place, a physical one, in other dimension, where everyone will be judged and rewarded according to his faith and actions.
So, your definition still being metaphorical.

What's so wrong with metaphorical thinking? What's so bad about new age thinking? What do you have against it?
From the Qur'an
2765 "Say, 'None in the heavens or the earth know the unseen except God. And they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.'
2766 "No, they have no knowledge of the Hereafter. No, they are in doubt about it. No, they are blind to it."
This is Free Minds. This is a place for "free thinking." If you're looking for a place where every belief and word will be taken literally, then this may not be the forum for you.
Peace. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

We can discuss about all things.
I'm here for improve my knowledge about Islam. Because I think it's the most rational religion, due to the scientific and numerical miracles.
But we need build consensus. Allah say in his book that the Hell exist. You can legitime claim Hell is the ground you build with your actions; you can claim also that Angels are only manifestations of the Power of Allah and not creatures of other dimension. You can legitime have your own opinon and belief about.
As I told, I'm here because I don't feel good with the mainstream Sunno-Wahabbi establishment and dogmas.
So, as long you have the right to take the notion of Hell as a result of your actions in this World, I can legitime claim Hell is a existent place in a hidden dimension.
-
No they are not metaphorical because that you are here is reality and if you come to "Heaven" then this is reality. Physical or not is depending on the viewpoint. Heaven is not physical as in there people are ethereal, but it is a reality. "Hell" is a location and "Heaven" is a location depending get on how you see it and the definition of "location". In "Heaven" you are not confined to any body and are thus ethereal as I wrote above, existing in God/Rabb united. In there you are Maleikateh, an Angel or rather Manager (king) as the word actually means.
The misconception is that Hell is a third place beyond this world besides "Heaven" but you are in "Hell" right now. It feels to you like a location. You are weak because you are restricted to the limitations of this body and it constantly seduces you and entices you to be it, making yourself lost to it. And that fate is recurring for as long as you cannot find the path out.
But it is not the reality that you are the body of yours but this is something you are made to believe, but you can have a deluded reality and identify yourself with the primate body you are in possession of which is actually not the real you. If you release from it, it is nothing you have with you, it will die and it will not live again.
The whole concept of resurrection on the Last Day is a myth fabricated by sectarian clerics and scholars. If your body ends (dies) and you reach your end, then you are no longer attached to any bodily reality and immediately find yourself in "Heaven" albeit the confirmation that you are in does come already while you are alive as you make your joining to the "kingdom" at hand when you are able. The failures, they will be recycled in "Hell" and given new skins (bodies) and feel the force (nuur) of it over and over again. Their great parable is the world itself and how the plants grow in the soil to then wither and die without bearing fruit lacking the right conditions. God/Rabb has multiple times made parables of cultivation when comparing one's fate. One must soundly tend their own cultivation so their seed reaches completion, or otherwise it will wither before that.
Be well

Anyways, I sense I am just talking before deaf ears. Sorry for taking your time.
Fear Hell if you like. I do fear Hell too because I know Hell. Make yourself whole and you will not see Hell in the future. Hell is a consequence of not being complete.

AmenuelThe problem here I feel like you are afraid of a potential physical Hell ? Although I do not completely share the views of Ibn al-Qayyim, in this one it seems to be right
Regarding the angels, they (the philosophers) do not know about or believe in the Angels. According to them, the Angels were merely figures of the Prophet?s imagination, just some abstract light-based shapes. They believe Angels were mental beings, having no existence in or outside of this realm, not above the sky, nor beneath it. To them, they were not beings that move, ascend, descend, control anything, or say anything. They do not record the people?s deeds, nor do they have any awareness or movement at all. They do not move from place to place nor line up in rows for Allaah, nor do they pray. They have no interaction with the affairs of this world, they do not take the souls of the dead, nor do they write people?s (pre-ordained) sustenance, lifespan, or deeds (in the womb). Nor are they sitting (as witnesses) on the right and left (of a person). None of these things have any reality at all, according to them.
Some of them inched towards Islaam by saying that the Angels are the inner inclination to do good within a person, while the devils are the inner inclination to do evil. This notion was held only by the ones who moved toward Islaamic beliefs and approached (the teachings of) the Messengers.
As for the Last Day, they do not believe the heavens will become torn apart, the planets will fall from their places, or that the people will be physically resurrected. They do not even believe that Allaah created the heavens and the earth in six days, nor do they believe that He brought the universe into existence from nothing.

but you didnt tell me i m asking your understaning about malaika not the gooogle one , i m asking the ones that mention in quran?
peace
Hi,
I did.
I said the word "malaykat" itself already says what they are. What do the words malik/mulk/malak/malk/etc have in common?

Does anyone understand what their reading?
Too many inclusionistThere are a number of things you can do that make you an unbeliever.
Eating pagan meat makes you a pagan.
Taking christians and news as friends makes you of them
And many choices are pathes
Sectarianism refusal to obey ALLAH
Many many things
Who is the messenger the Quran says he is a solitary one from among you
He had to be a living person.
And if you wrong such a person there's nothing for you but the fires of he'll.I'm the messenger
Anyone who claims to be the messenger could be the messenger. The verse of a repeating book in everyone's life time point to a man simply called the praise worthy one.
Could be Michael Jordan and before his fame Michael Jackson.
The messenger would bare a Mark or maybe a sign like mj with air or mj with dancing and singing.
All of these things were worthy of praise. You cheered once for these men?
These are messengers changing the way we live and breathe and dunk.
Look at their praiseworthy fame...
But who they praise ALLAH
Perfect hiarchy
ALLAH his messenger the believers and a group of watchers among jinn and men.Have to feared ALLAH and obeyed the messenger?

thanxHi Imran,
I understand, but I am not such a good explainer of my thoughts.
A ruler here on earth "possesses" a land. So his kingdom is the land.
A malaykat is different in a sense that they "carry" what they "possess".
A stupid example to understand what I mean is a magnet.
We call objects magnets when they carry/produce a magnetic field, so in this sense a magnet is sort of malaykat. But of course this is only my speculation at the moment.
What do you think?

hi bender,
hmm i think the force that is behind the attraction of magnet is caused by angels , the law of that force ,
the law of water cycle , the law of gravitational pull, the law of energy , lava, vegetation growth , making dead land alive ,,all these things works on principal and that principal is governing by angels with the permission of lord ,
some angles carrying next level duties and their form is even more advance than random angels, quran call them spirits(rooh) like gabriel , praised one(muhammad) saw him two times in his original shape ,
some angles have duties to take care of us and they are responsible for saving us from lot of hidden things which we have no knowledge off , allong with these things they are recording us as well , karmin katebeen
some angles have duties to take our soul/character to afterlife myth/dimenshn when our appointed time finish. like a doctor did a operation they work on same pattern by seperating soul from bodies.. mulk ul moat
in short they are forces of nature who are responsible for lot of things . and no doubt Allah knows best
but we must beleive them , a clear command in book regarding two special spirits whoever is enemy to them is the enemy to Allah , gabriel ,mikael.in the night of decree both spirits(rooh) and angels(malaika) asends to earth
by the way thanx for sharing ur understanding i wnt other people to share their views with me , in this way we can learn more,
peace.

Hi to all;
I was Islamophobe and I used to hate Allah.
Now, I'm considering his existence. In part due to the Harun Yahya's mathematical miracles. I'm considering, thus, the possibility of his veracity. However, I'm still hesitating.
I grasp, for the first time, the possibility of the divinity.
But, as I said, I'm not 100% convinced. I do not want call myself hypocrite, but it seems to be what I'm.
I fear Hell; if God/Allah exist, I think I'm destined to.
Because in the Qur'an God says
"O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah , His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray" http//quran.com/4/136
I can't believe ~even if I want~, firmly or not, in every of the articles of faith.
Have God sealed my heart? I'm destined to the Hell?
if you fear hell, fear it no more! All you need is to avoid it. Have an honest reading of the Quran maybe from http//corpus.quran.com/ word by word. Seriously take guidance from the reading of it. Go slowly no rush. Its not perfect translation but you are expecting direct guidance from the Creator as stated in the Q.
Statements in the Q are mostly statements challenging your belief system, its either you accept them or you challenged them by your action not by admittance. So action speaks louder than words. Due to weak or misleading translations the Q can appear irrelevant or rediculous, and some actions can be illegal due to bad translations thus leave those verses alone because it does not make sense. The Creator makes sense, we make the Q nonsense thus you know the weakness lies in the translation.
Whether you finish reading it, whether you are enlightened or not, whatever the outcome you must have faith that the Creator will guide you. The effort you make is a direct reflection of the Creator's will. BUT if you rather dwell in misery and finding shortcuts here and there, there is no certainty to truth but there is certainty to confusion.
All the best!

Hi,
Maybe you misunderstood, I did not say a magnet is a malaikat. It was just to give an example how I see them if we translate them to something visible.
Thus entities who carry/contain ONLY that what they have given authority over.A question for you, a apple falls from a tree here where I live and also where you live. The question is if it is 1 malaikat who is responsible for all gravity in the universe or endless different malaykats carrying the same "force" (that what we call gravity)?

Maybe you misunderstood, I did not say a magnet is a malaikat. It was just to give an example how I see them if we translate them to something visible.
Thus entities who carry/contain ONLY that what they have given authority over.yeh may b i misunderstood you, but i was thinking you are asking about the mechansim of magnet, and the force behind it . obviously according to science it a force of that special metal which have ability to attract other metals , but with the same time negetive and positives sides make magnet run away from each other, same like archimedes principal , a piece of stone sink and tons of heavy ship float , everything is on principal and balance its not magic , but these principal are in our service by lord , so angels are nothing more than service providers for these forces. human angels everything is in mere service of lord, Allah is the owner of majesty.
A question for you, a apple falls from a tree here where I live and also where you live. The question is if it is 1 malaikat who is responsible for all gravity in the universe or endless different malaykats carrying the same "force" (that what we call gravity)?
my brother u imposed an difficult question so when i complete my answer marking should not be tight,,lol just kidding.
i will try to expalin you what i think but ultimate knowledge belong to our lord , i can just try to give you answers what i read and understand according to quran.
first of all forces of nature like gravity, attraction, destruction, time, expansion all other things are forces which is controlled by somebody ,and the authority who generates/govern/control these forces are not human beings our understanding of mulk, malak, is king controller something like that malaikia also derived from this root so we can assume they are assigned for these tasks ,but its Allah who authroise them .
about the apple trust me my brother i cant tell you how many angels are responsible as i have no proof for it , but making ourself understand, i will use quran for referencing then we may understand , on the day of judgement the 8 anagels will carry the throne of almighty, hell is controlling by 19 , about gravity and even the spinning of full galaxy its Allah who measure what and how mush force required and what kind/nature of mulk/angel is required for that proportion. so may be one great force of angel is governing all gravity in full planet may b its millions or billions angels stuck with every single atom we dnt need to be astonish ,God is well aware of all balance and calculations , even a leaf drop its in the recording of Allah , leaf drop due to gravity but who is behind thaat gravity , somebody that controls. figures are just figures ,it Allah who creates all these figures. he know complete knowledge of hidden and unhidden.

As I told here http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9608381.0, the Hell is eternal; the fear is logical knowing I'm a disbeliever and due to my nonchalance.

Peace imrankhawaja,
converting a stick into snake is nothing ,infront of Allah he knows all the laws how to change and transform the matter in to another form or shape, even a magician of circus bring out birds in a order it looks like pigeon become parrot ,, hen become duck, but thats what we call trick, the same trick ,that was being done by magicians of firoon, but miracle and trick are different things, sun is a live miracle that vanish the water,, hope u get it what i m trying to say and moses stick was miracle not a trick, and all the magicians accept the God of moses after watching their insult...
The word Asa, which is commonly translated as staff/stick, appears to have another meaning.

peace taro,
God did not break his own rules, thats what you are reffering by these posts,
the difference between law and advance law is something we need to understand, i know very well what you try to say but again
look into jesus christ miracles, he put life in to dead, heal the blinds , advance form of treatment , and the law behind this advance science is unable to understand by worldy human knowledge base, niether we have apparatus to perform it, Y only jesus vchrist did it, due to the nature of his birth may be, he was a human being with advance sense of understanding and performing laws by the will of God definately,
i dnt want to go inot deatail but right now our topic is can God changed his own laws,
questions arises here , where was the father of jesus, is it not a unchanging law, nobody get birth without father , we need a men sperm in women egg to produce a human being,
you cannot claim anything like that, God do whatever he wills, whenever he wills, we r bounds in laws, not him,,
moreover whats about the cave sleepers, is it not alaw changing of sleep, years they spend in sleeping,
i m not saying anybody wrong but its quite hard for me to impose anyhthing on God which i have no knowledge off,
so i will say God is the east and west , God is the innermost and outer most , God is the lawmaker as well as lawchanger whatever he wills he have full commands on it. examples are in books,
peace
