Marriage verses in Qur'an
-
Peace
So I've often contemplated this...
On one hand, do not marry mushriks but on the other....men can marry women who are believers but also women who were given the book before you? I assume this means Christians and Jews...sunni muslims- well a lot of them will say it refers to christians who don't worship Jesus but only God because at the time of prophet Muhammed there were christians who would apparently only worship God because 'most christians then didn't worship Jesus in the Prophet's time'- but I myself have found NO EVIDENCE for this to be true...even the Qur'an mentions do not say 3- which I've always interpreted to be in reference to the holy trinity which leads me to conclude that christians even mgiht of worshipped Jesus during that time (I'm not too sure though as I haven't done my research on the history of Christianity)...
?As to marriage, you are allowed to marry the chaste from among the believing women and the chaste from among those who have been given the Book before you (are lawful for you); provided that you have given them their dowries, and live with them in honor, not in fornication, nor taking them as secret concubines.?Qur?an (55).
So a believing woman = one who follows qur'an, does not commit shirk and I'm not too sure but does not uphold any other man-made laws...this is why some say even sunnis are committing shirk because they treat man's made up religious laws as God's laws (when they are not God's laws).
On the other hand
?Do not marry idolatresses (al mushrikt) till they believe; and certainly a believing maid is better than an idolatress even though she would please you; and do not marry idolaters (al Mushrikn) till they believe (hata yminū, and certainly a believing slave is better than an idolater, even though he would please you. These invite to the Fire, and Allah invites to the Garden and to forgiveness by His grace, and makes clear His revelations to mankind so that they may remember.?Qur?an 2221.
So are the women who are given the book before you not also classed as idolatresses??
Because as a female, if christians, sunnis, jews etc. are not idolators- a female believer could potentially marry them?
Some say the verse (about not marrying idolators/ idolatresses) is specific and in context of the time of the Prophet in the past when there was war... but I'm not sure I agree with this...
God said He has made the religion easy and so far things have seemed easy etc. but honestly marriage is one of the hardest topics for me ever because I'm just so confused about who's considered an idolator and who isn't....and if christians/ jews are, why are they allowed for men only it seems?
Sunnis will say, because the man is the leader of his household so the kids won't leave sunni Islam if the father is sunni...but my father was sunni and I left sunnism lol so clearly this doesn't work since people will always believe what they believe even if their parents believed differently...
Also if a believing female like me can only marry a Qur'an alone follower...first of all there's nobody like that in my real life, second even if I ever attempted to meet one online...it's highly likely they might not find me attractive since I'm just a random person and there are not many Qur'an alone followers and a person shouldn't in my opinion have to force themselves to like someone romantically if they really don't...
What if God does actually mean that I cannot marry anyone except another Qur'an alone believer- what if it really is this strict and anything beyond that is haram/ forbidden? If I broke this one rule and marry say a christian...would I go to Hell for preferring a disbeliever over a potential believer since there was a verse/s about how you shouldn't do this?

Dear sister Sarah,
I assume your question is genuine and concerned with your life... Not just a mere question by looking at the tone...
Keep it simple...
Let the person be born into any culture and any so called religion but if he or she believes in One God and not associate then marry him...
By the way... You said you didn't find any evidence for people of the book to be true believers in ONE God.. I hope below two verses clear it...2851 Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it.
2853 When it is recited to them, they say, "We believe in it. It is the Truth from our Lord. We were Muslims before it was revealed".
God knows who believers are... So find a believer who says I believe in one god and not associate anything with God... Rest is mystery.. Coz what he does and what is in his heart God only knows... Even you chose thinking he is a pure believer, still it is only your judgement and may not be the reality with God...
Few prophets had disbelieving wives and few believing women had disblieving husband.. King pharoa is example.. Take it easy... Not below verse..262 Surely they that believe, and those of Jewry, and the Christians, and those Sabaeans, whoso believes in God and the Last Day, and works righteousness -- their wage awaits them with their Lord, and no fear shall be on them; neither shall they sorrow"
In your thread you have concern like Sunni says, these people, that people say.... Just leave that aside... Just keep, you say only... Just take Quran as you already taking..
God guide us... -
sarah if u are new in researching take atleast two years for master the cross check method. in all of your long post there is more than one (things) which clearly against the scripture(quran) you are talking about.
for understanding any religion/language/subject it takes time.
for mastering any religion/language/subject it takes ?ages? (atleast two years formal education of subject). but dnt worry about it u can share our/my experience. herez a gift for you lol582 (O Prophet) you will find the most vehement of mankind in hostility to the believers to be the Jews and the idolaters. Closer in affection to the believers you will find those who say, ?We are Christians."That is because among them there are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.
atleast one TIME read (ALL) 114 chapters (three/four) different translation so that u remember what Quran contains.
it will also tell you what people say about whats in quran.along with other religious books i e gospels, veda, torah, and whatever got ratings and whatever material deserve a Good read.

but the QURAN ALONE followers are Mushriks... ;D
1117hardest topics for me ever because I'm just so confused about who's considered an idolator and who isn't....
The definition of Mushrik...
• So set your face firmly towards the Deen as a pure natural believer Allah"s natural pattern on which He made mankind. There is no changing Allah"s creation . That is the true Deen — but most people do not know it .
• Turning to Him only, and be careful of your duty to Him and establish salat (duty to align our nature with NATURE). Do not be among the mushrikeen those who split up their deen/way of life (naturally, Sunnatullah Alone), and form into sects (religism, political jurisprudence), each one happy with their own belief.
(3030-32)
Mushrik = Unnaturalist and religism/schism
and marriage with Mushrik is ZINA.
• They are not halal for the kuffar nor are the kuffar halal for them. Give the kuffar whatever dowry they paid. And there is nothing wrong in your marrying them (without divorce) provided you pay them their due. Do not hold to any marriage ties with women who are kafir. Ask for what you paid and let them ask for what they paid. That is Allah"s judgement. (6010)
• Here Allah make equals Marriage to Zina
• A man guilty of adultery (or fornication) shall not marry any but the woman guilty of the same or a mushrik woman, and none shall marry a woman guilty of adultery (or fornication) but the man guilty of the same or a mushrik man Such marriages are haram (Zina) for the pure natural believers. (243)
Do not go anywhere near adultery (UNLAWFUL MARRIAGES), because it is a disgrace and immoral. (1732) Of all such things, these wrongs (UNLAWFUL MARRIAGES) are most hateful in the sight of your Lord. (173
What if God does actually mean that I cannot marry anyone except ...
Therefore, "Maryam" or HELL.
Who other than Allah can make marriage lawful? YES?
Therefore, SHIRK and not forgiven.
Allah does not forgive anything (of marriage administration and its legality) being associated with Him but He forgives whoever He wills for anything other than that. Anyone who associates something with Allah has committed a terrible crime. (44 (6150)
Therefore, lawful marriages only between the Sunnatullah Alone Muslims / the Ecological Citizens (Math + E + Ism / 1117 / 364); regardless of their religions.
But you cannot will, unless Allah wills. (7630)
ELSE Zina and Shirk
Do people imagine that they will be left to say, "We have iman," and will not be tested? We tested those before them so that Allah would know the truthful and would know the liars. Or do those who do bad actions imagine they can outstrip Us? How bad their judgement is! (292-4)

Sarah, you should quote the ayas to which you atribute that they say certain things and I suppose that you refer to 5.5. when you say tht men are allowed to marry women from the people of the book and not women.
Well, you should read the aya carefully, it does not say that AT ALL. That is one of those arranged by self-seeking mentalities to say what it DOES NOT SAY.
5.5
This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good).?Do you realise that if this aya is used to say that only to men it is allowed to marry women from the book and not women that in that case, since the first mentionned"as allowed to men", would be women believers?
So doe it mean tht women are not allowed to marry men believers either?
The purpose of this aya is nothing to do with allowing things to one sex while foridding it to the other, bur rather to order men who marry women of the book to fulfill their duties of " give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues".
Since women do not have to "give them due dowers" to marry men, so it does not mention women. They are not supposed to pay dowes to men nor are usually the ones who try to entice them to umproper relationships, since those would go against their own interests.Salaam
-
Some ideas i have and will recommend.
Mushrik One who thinks His God favors him only and not others, total ownership of God to their own sect and idol and reject others.
Atheist One who rejects God and do not have such belief on the Goodness comes from a source.
Muslim who takes peace as religion and leave things to God or accept things and move in more peacefull manner.
Now people carry tags, they say they belong to muslim(Hadithers), Sunni, Shia, Christian, Hindu, Jew etc..but the most peacefull(muslim) is the best, tags could misguide, overall make sure you are a muslim first and leave it to God, you get the right partner with His blessings.

Dear Sarah...
Yes.... The instructions here directed only to men but the law is for both men and women...
For example if the believing women of Christian is made allowed for believing men, then automatically the believing men becomes permitted for believing christian women... If a believing man goes to ask for woman for marriage from Christian believing family.. They can ask a question.. Are we permitted to marry you? Quran says permitted you but it doesn't say we are permitted... So we got to use common sense..
If still not get the point.. I will put it this way..
If one says Iraqi women are permitted for Turkish men... What does it mean... Practically ehat we can understand... Turkish men also permitted for Iraqi women...
So if all are believers there is no restrictions in sharing their men and women for marriage.. Same is all foods of both is permitted..
By the verse it seems like before the verse is revealed such restrictions of marriage prevailed... -
@jkhan brother,
I don't know, I guess it's a general question that also affects me personally...
No I meant that some sunnis are of the opinion that muslim men are not allowed to marry modern day christians because they worship Jesus and in the past they didn't....I meant there is no evidence that most christians back then did not worship jesus (I'm of the opinion based on quranic verses that they did have the holy trinity even back then).
However I do believe that SOME christians do not worship Jesus, but let's be honest, most seem to be catholic (at least where I'm from)...so it's hard to find one that doesn't worship jesus...
Wait so my question to you is, do you consider modern day christians 'believers' even if they believe in the Holy Trinity and worship Jesus?

cross referencing...yeah you have a point but the thing is, I also check out a lot of quran alone websites and one says Christians/ jews are not to be married, the next says you can marry christians and jews, the one after that says the word muslim has 2 definitions, 1. peaceful person (not an aggressor), 2. submitting to God (and not committing shirk) so you can marry anyone of any religion as long as they are a peaceful human being...so there are so many different views even within the Quran alone community...
Interesting quote there... it seems God makes a distinction between idolators, jews and christians...maybe christians are not considered idolators (like some Quran alone websites state). If only idolators (mushriks) are not to be married, perhaps I can marry a christian...
Right now I'm reading the Qur'anic translation by Muhammed Asad everyday....kind of halfway through it lol and I started I think some months ago...

How so? we don't worship idols/ don't follow mullahs...we don't follow hadith from bukhari...
Which Hadith, other than this, do they uphold?
We follow verses like the one above....which means don't follow anything but Qur'an...
Law of nature....sunnah of Allah- yes as in God has His way of doing things- doesn't mean we just live and let live and follow none of the Quranic guidelines...
'duty to align our nature with NATURE'....yes so what is your definition of nature? Nature can mean different things for different people....
By the way, how do you know it specifically means 'natural law' instead of just law? Just curious...
Following the Qur'an alone is not a sect, it's just following the Qur'an without any add ons (which is the way it's supposed to be read, free of preconceptions of Bukhari etc.)
Again unnatural like natural is just a term unless we're talking about something as obvious as food i.e. natural food with no chemicals....however when it comes to faith, it seems to become a more subjective term because it's not like God wrote his laws in nature or something...some people think it's unnatural to wear makeup, clothes...unnatural to watch TV or use electricity...so again, what is you point? How does any of this prove Qur'an alone followers are mushriks?
Adultery is when you cheat on your married partner...saying do not go near adultery isn't the same as saying adultery= marriage to a mushrik (even if marrying a mushrik was mentioned alongside adultery in the other verse/s)...
Who other than Allah can make marriage lawful? Nobody obviously...
Therefore shirk and not forgiven? Hmmm...only if I reject God's verses but if I for example believe something is wrong but still do it (any unlawful thing other than shirk)....then it's a sin but not shirk if I believe what I'm doing is wrong...hope this makes sense (not that I want to necessarily do something wrong)
'Therefore, lawful marriages only between the Sunnatullah Alone Muslims / the Ecological Citizens (Math + E + Ism / 1117 / 364); regardless of their religions.'...so what exactly do you mean by this? What's a sunnatullah Muslim? How do they differ from people following the qur'an alone??
ecological definition
'relating to or concerned with the relation of living organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings.' So basically anyone who cares about people/ animals around them (good people)? On a side note, do you believe in God? Just curious because I think I once came across someone online who takes the Qur'an alone as a guide but is an atheist...
How did you come to 'Mathism'?

Keep reading dear Sarah..
Keep developing... Guidance will flow...
BTW.. Yes there are Christians who doesn't take Jesus as Lord and I have two friends in my place of working. .they never go to church but they believe in one God who is not Jesus...and against trinity. But they don't practice anything like we.. But of course so lots of charity. God guide them. -

So let's prove the i'tiqad (creed) for the Quran Alone followers is not within verse 3030-32....
ISSUE How is the "i'tiqad (creed)" for the Quran Alone followers is within the argument of "the Deen, as a pure natural believer, Allah's natural pattern (upright)"?
Explain...
-
You are right i think I mistakenly misquoted 55 by not quoting everything it says...I'll try to edit that...
You make a good point, maybe God only mentions you can marry the women of book before you etc. because he's reminding the men of the duty of dowry...I never thought of it like this before...
I have a question for you, do you think Christians who worship Jesus are allowed to be married? If yes, why? Do you consider them idolators/ mushriks or even rejectors/ kafirs?
-
The argument // main premise
Definition of the "Deen"
Defintion of "Mushrik"So set your face firmly towards the Deen, as a pure natural believer, Allah's natural pattern on which He made mankind. There is no changing Allah's creation. That is the true Deen — but most people do not know it. Turning to Him only, and be careful of your duty to Him and establish salat. Do not be among the mushrikeen those who split up their Deen, and form into sects, each one happy with their own belief. (3030-32)
So let's prove the i'tiqad (creed) for the Quran Alone followers is not within verse 3030-32....
ISSUE How is the "i'tiqad (creed)" for the Quran Alone followers is within the argument of "the Deen, as a pure natural believer, Allah's natural pattern"?
Explain...
first off, you never replied to all of my QUESTIONS to you...
Well...what do you mean by 'pure, natural, believer'? GIVE ME YOUR DEFINITION....
What is your issue with a person who follows the Qur'an alone? How is this wrong????
I think I kind of already answered that by saying...we don't worship idols, we don't follow scholars, we dont follow hadith = all the sects etc. we are NOT s sect, just 'pure' believers in the qur'an...again, how is this wrong?
It seems you're just arguing for for the sake of arguing...except for bringing up the 'mushriks with the split up the deen' point, you're not maknig any other points. You're just ASSUMING that quran alone followers are not pure, are not following the laws of God which I see ZERO PROOF of.
Please explain what your issues are with following the Quran alone, how is it different to how you follow?
-
I think I kind of already answered that by saying...we don't worship idols, we don't follow scholars, we dont follow hadith = all the sects etc. we are NOT s sect, just 'pure' believers in the qur'an...again, how is this wrong?
So you cannot prove your "I'TIQAD" is consistent with verse 3030-32.
Therefore, muSHRIK.
ie. Kafir of the SUNNATULLAH (Way of Allah = Law of Nature; "Allah's natural pattern", and nature is always natural/logical in everything it does... the "i'tiqad" for the Quran Alone followers are always for the unnatural/illogical... ie. Nature + Unnature = Unnature)
Validity (Law of Nature) + Truth (Natural Person) = Soundness (Natural Law)
Natural + Natural = Natural <- Pure Natural Believers
Natural + Unnatural = Unnatural
Unnatural + Natural = Unnatural
Unnatural + Unnatural = Unnaturalno further argument.
-
@Mahdi Ibrahim,
' the "i'tiqad" for the Quran Alone followers are always for the unnatural/illogical'
by i'tiqad you mean creed right?
If you really wanna show what you think is the right way, why don't you explain to me what I'm doing wrong? How is following the Qur'an alone unnatural/ illogical? Because right now I have no idea how you reached that conclusion...
You keep pointing out verses with the word 'natural' but you don't really explain what you mean by this?
So how do you live you life? Do you pray, do you give charity? Are these natural?
I'm not here to argue that I'm better, I'm here because I HONESTLY want to know but you don't explain your points...
If I'm unnatural/ illogical...please give me some EXAMPLES of what I'm doing wrong/ illogically....I don't understand what you mean right now so I need examples...

How is following the Qur'an alone unnatural/ illogical?
It is without cause and effect, without proof and evidence, and life value from moral relativism or forced justice... it is not from natural justice... it is not universal.

Say, "This is my "Islam". "Islam" is with proofs and evidences (NATURAL // CERTAINTY // IMAN)! I, as well as those who follow me, call you towards Allah/Sunnatullah/Way of Allah/LordLaw of Nature/Proofs & Evidences. He is the most High! I would never commit the sin of shirk (muSHRIK.. ie. without proof and evidence.. but guesswork and speculation // UNNATURAL // UNCERTAINTY // LIES)!" (1210
Apart from the TRUTH (NATURE), what else is there, except LIES (UNNATURE)? (1032)
They are only following their GUESS (UNNATURE), and they only tell LIES. (1066)
They follow but a GUESS (UNNATURE); and surely GUESS (UNNATURE) does not substitute for the TRUTH (IMAN) at all. (532
ie. no iman at all = muSHRIK.
God's Truth.

The definition of Human Shaytan
Shaytans from both mankind and from the jinn, who inspire each other (religism) with delusions (unnatural) by means of specious words (guesswork, fallacies, "without proof and evidence" — if your LordLaw (of Nature) had willed, they would not have done it, so abandon them and all they fabricate (forced justice, political jurisprudence). (6112)
Traits of Human Shaytan (muSHIRK)
• religism / schism
• delusional (characterized by or holding idiosyncratic beliefs or impressions that are contradicted by reality or rational argument, typically as a symptom of mental disorder)
• fallacious / unnatural / illogical / "without proof and evidence" / guesswork
• against Sunnatullah / LordLaw of Nature
• forced justice
So set your face firmly towards the Deen, as a pure natural believer, Allah's natural pattern on which He made mankind. There is no changing Allah's creation. That is the true Deen — but most people do not know it. Turning to Him only, and be careful of your duty to Him and establish salat. Do not be among the mushrikeen those who split up their Deen, and form into sects, each one happy with their own belief. (3030-32)
Quran Alone followers are not Mushrik? >D

men can marry women who are believers but also women who were given the book before you? I assume this means Christians and Jews...sunni muslims-
muslims (ecological citizens) can marry those who follow Saint Thomas Aquinas // Catholic (ecological citizens)... that's what it means, regardless of their religions/gods etc... both have the same LordLaw, ONE SAME GOD.. .ie. The Sunnatullah / Way of Allah / Nature's God.
Provided they must agree with this condition
He made all gods same god. (385) (... is against the QURAN ALONE FOLLOWERS)
IF God
THEN Nature's God (regardless of religion, all truth is Allah's TRUTH)

Other main conditions; 364 and 568 etc.
