In kullu nafsin lamma AAalayha hafith(un)
There is no soul but has a protector over it.

Who or what is this 'Protector' / 'Hafith'?
Is he/she/it from the kind of "djinn" or "angels"?
Does this 'protector' is the one who protect us from magic/witchcraft?

Really appreciates any comments or thoughts.. Thx

    Allah knows best..

            Salaam,

How do you deduce that malaika whose job is to keep record are ALSO one's guardians?

These angels are always with me and with every human being on earth. ALWAYS. I know the word guardian implies to guard or the one who keeps safe, but for me, becoz these angels are always with me, i will call them Guardian Angels. Its just a personel opinion http//www.geocities.com/bigjaxal/s1.gif

                Salaam,

The original poster asked a specific question and you gave an opinion without and iota of proof. Just because something happens to be with you does not mean it is necessarily a guardian.

Apart from it being my personel opinion, here is how i came to this conclusion. The meaning of the word Guardian from dictionary.com

Guardian One that guards, watches over, or protects.

Lets just say that these angels, they dont guard us, they dont protect us. But we know they are there. All the time they are there. Would it be fair to say, that they are watching over us? watching our every action. Recording it? In that sense, and from the meaning of the word Guardian, is it so wrong to say they are our Guardian Angels? http//www.geocities.com/bigjaxal/s1.gif

                        Salaam Jaxal,

I believe the meaning watch over is meant in the sense of keeping guard over a thing or person. Malaika whose job it is to record one's every thought and action do not fall into this category. So no, even though it may seem the same, it is not. I would not say they are guardians, for a guard watches over one specifically for protection. Malaika are said to be watching over one specifically to record.

Ok. God is out Guardian. Its all over the Quran. But wouldnt you agree, that God , especially, in this age sends one of his good people to help whoever God wills to help. It has happened to me. It has happened to a lot of people who wil swear on their life that God sent this kind person to help them. Would you agree to this?

Why do you find it so hard to believe that maybe, just maybe, God has these 2 angles who are always watching us. Isnt it possible even a tiny bit that maybe God may give permission to these angels to help us? Ah, but God can do it himself , i hear you say. Ofcourse God can do it all Himself. He created the hevens, the earths, the hell ALL by himself. And yet, we see examples of how God has used other people to help mankind. Sending angels to convey his message is also not something that is totally out there. Prophet Muhammad talked to Angel Jibril. Mary was also sent an Angel to tell Mary that she will be having a baby. Also, i think its in the Bible, when a Angel came to Moses ( i think but correct me if i am wrong ). And Moses asked to travel with this being. Im sure you have heard of it. What im trying to say is, why do you find it absolutely impossible that God wont help us through these two angels? If God can choose to help us through his good men, why cant God choose to help us through these two Angels who are ALWAYS with us?

                                Peace all,

                                There is this verse 1311

For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him They guard him by command of Allah. Allah does not change a people's lot unless they change what is in their hearts. But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.

If we don't use the word malaika, how would we understand it? This is not a rhetorical question, in case it wasn't clear. I would like to hear an alternative view. In the literal the other word used besides angels are glorifications and in the PM, it is retainers.

Btw, to Jafar...what would you define magic and witchcraft as? As in voodoo?

According to a friend of mine, it's a 'dark/negative energy' which 'influence' human's 'aura' state (make it 'gloomy' / 'stressfull' / 'posessed' etc..) Every kinds of 'dark magic' always involved calling / asking the help of demons or djinns... (Wallahualam Bisshowab)

I've read a story somewhere that there's a guy who invented the 'anti-witchcraft' device for regular home usage. The device will repel all incoming 'negative/dark energy' (including demons and djins) inside a certain circular radius (10 or 15 meters). This device is powered by electricity as any other regular home electronic apparatus, and had the shape of somewhat like a 'pyramid'. The guy claimed that the device has been 'thoroughly tested' by many 'shaman' and 'witchcraft practicioners'...

I haven't seen evidence of this happening with someone else causing it. I mean I feel gloomy/stressful at times...but is it because someone else is causing it specifically as opposed to my own feelings? I don't know how far to buy into possession and other assorted things like that, since I personally believe that these kinds to things are all psychological (without the deliberate interference of someone wanting to cause it)...I might change my mind if someone can duplicate these in front of me consistently. Like practise some magic on someone who they don't know, who will then go through precisely what is intended through the magic. Otherwise, it's a bit on the wild side for me right now.

lol , sweet...the pyramid shape is good for preservation, like keeping food fresher etc but I like the guy's guarantee, it's tested.

My grandmother told me of a woman who used to practice black magic on other people. Making them miserable and things like that. She achieved what she was doing, but she lost her kids. That was the price she had to pay. In the end, the whole block had to come down to her house to stop her from sacrificing her last child to black magic.
