SaLam Komla
A tip sister. No one here will force you to see it their way. It is up to you that you read about the topic and make your own mind. And ask us questions and we will help you as much as possible.
Now, about salat. You will find that people here have a diverse belief on this matter. Some pray it like sunnis. Some like you. Some dont even perform the ritual salat... like me. Layth has an excellent article on this matter. Explore the website AND read the previous topics on this subject.

"The" middle prayer which is mentioned in 2238 can only be the Sunset Prayer - the middle of the three mentioned above.
Hafithoo AAalaalssalawati waalssalatialwusta waqoomoo lillahi qaniteena
Guard your salavat, AND the middle salat (according to you); and persist/stand to/for Allah devoutly.
If there were THREE salats the ayah would go like this with dual form
Hafithoo AAala as-salatain waalssalatialwusta waqoomoo lillahi qaniteena
Guard your two salats, AND the middle salat (according to you); and persist/stand to/for Allah devoutly.Salavat is in plural form so there are at least three salats. We can see that middle salat (according to you) is NOT included in them but it's mentioned separately with wa (AND). This proves that those who ritually pray three times are just following conjectures just like anyone who prays ritually when there is no details of it in the Reading.
Salam.

This is my position on salat http//www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3216
And this is the best salat article I've ever read (brother hafeez kazi's) http//www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2239
There is no ritual prayer in the Holy Quran, if there was Allah would have given us details like He gave the details of what was supposed to be done before it step by step (wudu).
As for salatil jumuat, imho it means any day of "link" (Quran reading by Mohammad) besides the ones Allah mandated (11114, 177 for example like the one in 9103. When there was a reading session believers were to leave all business and run for remembrance of Allah. I don't think Allah would deem one specific day of the week as "holy."

Salaam,
17.78 Doesn't talk about a new timing for salaat.
17.78 gives you the perfect timing of how long your salaat should take to do. It's from when the sun gets down till the it's completely dark.
as for 2.238
this is from an sufi site.Be ever mindful of prayers,
and of praying in the most excellent way;
and stand before God in devout obedience.
Qur'an 2238According to me there are two times to perform the salaat that is in the morning and in the evening. And if you wish to during the night but this is not obligatory.

My salaam, wowwwwwwww guys thx for the reply i
ve come a long way for me to be able to see all those views. All this makes a lot of sens.So from what i understand now, its not about how many times you pray a day, because even the worst of ppl who do all those prayers a day,are there, killing each other and dividing themselves in sects in matters that are not important. But what is important, is the simple fact of remembering Allah everyday of our lives, wowww, beautiful.
