MQ, please elaborate on the concept of "mursal"

Mursal is just one who passes on a message, a message carrier. Same root as rasul if you noticed.

      Peace be upon you Danish,

By the way, if a "nabi" smokes and tells others not to, would the "rasul" do the same? Just curious to know your answer. Thanks

Interesting question. The "rasul" would definately repeat the correct message of the "nabi" by definition, but as far as thier actions, I could see the rasul making the error more readily than the nabi, just because to get to the level of intution(nabi), you have to develop your character to a high degree. This involves rendering your positive behavior AUTOMATIC. A message can be spread just by speech, the actions dont necessarily have to follow, but should.

Please elaborate on the differences that you have understood for me. Also, what is your response to the statement that messengers are not perfect people?

          Peace,

there is no definition for mursal in English on google/define, but there is one in Spanish that I'd translate as

Mursal One Hadit in which the ultimate authority in its isn?d is a t?bi??, in which the name of the Companion who hear it from the Prophet doesn't appear.

Look at 36/2 for the word 'mursal'

              Peace be upon you all,

              The verse is 363

              • Surely you are from the messengers (almursaleena)

MQ, how do you understand this?

Just that the reader is one of those who carry the message.

Darbari does Koran say that Muhammad is a PROPHET ? no . according to the Koran, Muhammad is a messenger of Allah and SEAL of the prophets , not a PROPHET himself . what do u ppl think ?

                    Well, the facts are

                    1. Muhammad is Rasulullah (48/29)
                    2. 49/2-3 uses the word 'an-nabiy' and 'rasulullah' interchangably.

Therefore, Muhammad must be a 'nabi' as well as 'khatamun nabiyeen'.

that is because a nabi is also a rasool , but a rasool is not necessarily a nabi . and Muhammad is called only a rasool , so he is not necessarily a nabi .

Bhai, I dont think ur reading the above ayaat carefully. An an-nabi is a rasulullah, so Muhammad must be an an-nabi.

No, I agree to that, but what I meant was how do you see "mursal" in relation to "rasul" is it not the same word in a different form? If not how do you see the differnce between them?

The mesage is 100% good because the rasul will benefit from the good health of following that message and so wll anyone who follows such verifyable information, as well as the "nabi".

and how would that intuit a rasul to nabi's stature?

I do not understand that question, please rephrase.

A mursal is one who carries the message but a rasool becomes the message. He's actively the living message.

                                this thread is confusing man

Here is what I believe is right

                                1. Every nabi is a Rasool and not every Rasool is a Nabi

                                2. A Rasool MUST BE SENT by someone to deliver a a message hence Rasool is also Mursal, I challlenge any one to prove otherwise, Mursal means someone who is sent, i,e, all Rasools are Mursaleen becaue all of them were sent by Allah

                                3. Mohaammad was called Nabi zillions of times in the Quran, therefore Mohammad is a Nabi and a Rasool

                                4. the word Khatim, means two things, end and completion, therefore Mohammad is the last Nabi

                                Salam

I believe that the content of al-quraan, its arrangement was specific. Muhammad wasn't mentioned directly as nabi but as Rasulullah (although rasulullah means nabi, as we've seen from 49/2-3) to emphasise the rasulullah aspect of the muhammadan personality. While Rasulullah and Nabi are interchangable, they highlight 2 different aspects of the same personality.
