No sister, Allah is telling them THAT IT MORE PROPER TO SAY WE SUBMITTED, ie Allah it teaching the ignorant Arab that Submission is the objective not the believe alone, while the believers will still be rewarded the submitters will be far better recognised, I still have more verses to show regarding this subject which I will post later

False. Why did Allah tell them its more proper to say 'we submitted'? Read on 'Wa Lamm Yadkhuli Al-'mnu F Qulbikum /And al-imaan has not yet entered your hearts'

Proof of this is the existence of al-munafiqeen. Even though they are shown to be in submission, they secretly reject Allah and so will be in the lowest level of hell. Therefore, imaan is a more important element than submission.

          Peace brothers and sisters

I know this is an old thread but appropriate for my question. Not long ago I had a debate with some relatives about not including Mohammed's name when saying the shahadah. I defended my point based on 2136. One interesting point they made was that they said Mohammed was the only one out of all the prophets who saw God, also the highest ranking prophet. I haven't found any evidence of this in the Quran, I always thought the revelations came to him through the angel Gabriel 297. I did ask them to show me something that states this, they will get back to me hmm Question Is what they are claiming have any truth?

2136 Say ?We believe in God and in what was sent down to us and
what was sent down to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and
Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and what was given to Moses and Jesus,
and what was given to the prophets from their Lord; we do not
make a distinction between any of them and to Him we submit.?

From what I understand from reading the bible, English translation of the Quran and Tanakh, It was only Moses that ever "saw" God

Slight corrections, in the Quran, Moses talks directly to God.. they have direct one-to-one conversation...

".. and God spoke directly unto Moses"
                  -- Quran, 4164

There are no reference whatsoever about "seeing God" in the Quran..
God is 'omni-present', He is closer to you than yourself, know you better than yourself, how could one 'see' or 'not-seeing' God then?

                  Salam / Peace

Just read the last two posts. You will see that I mis-used a word or two, I didn't mean actually "saw"

                            Came across this site http//www.islamic-awareness.org/History/Islam/Coins/

The site shows pictures of early Islamic coins. Summary of the date and inscription on the coins

78 AH / 697 CE - quwwat Yazd billh ("Strength of Yazd is from God&quot.
79 AH / 698-699 CE - l-ilaha il-Allh wahdahu Muhammad rasl Allh ("There is no god but God alone, Muhammad is the messenger of God&quot.

82 AH / 701 CE - bism Allh / baraka ("In the name of God. Blessing&quot.
                            82 AH / 701 CE - bism Allh / al-Azm ("In the name of God, the Mighty&quot.

89 AH / 708 CE - bism Allh / al-?izza lillh ("In the name of God. Unto God belongs the honour&quot.

What we can see is that in the early coins they referred to God alone. However, in 66 AH / 685-686 CE we have the earliest occurrence of the name Muhammad in a dated Muslim text. What happened?

Also, after 78 AH / 697 CE no coin has images at all. What happened?

In 77 AH / 696 CE, we can see that God is mentioned in the centre of the coin "There is no god but God alone, He has no associate" and Muhammad is mentioned along the margin "Muhammad is the messenger of God whom He sent with guidance and the religion of truth that He might make it prevail over all religions even if the associators are averse". However, 3 years later they are joined "There is no god but God alone, Muhammad is the messenger of God". Again, what happened?

Maybe some one with good knowledge of history can let us know.

                            Peace

                            Hope
