What is the real meaning of the word 'Allah'?

just quoting - seems interesting , but "No" God cannot be just my conscience or conciuosness as what creats all the goodness around you and me - in nature?The flowers , the animals e.t.c Unless we say God is Consciousness seperate to us or maybe including ours as well

Peace Simple. yes,it could be defined as the sub-concious also...Ive learnt that trying to define god/reality is a partially 'subjective' exercise....I think whatever one thinks of in relation to defining god is fine by me,as long as its logical to you,and doesnt harm yourself or others....We also have to keep an open-mind and recognise our limitations and possible mistakes...I think we each can know god in our own somewhat subjective way....Too much harm and suffering has come from people arguing and fighting over definitions of god....I think general behaviour is a much better indicator of a persons character,not how he defines god...
When i get time i will post a new thread on; God=reality?....

My position is that the God is Consciousness itself. The same consciousness flows through every "vehicle" on this forum and not on this forum. The God is that which percieves but cannot itself be percieved. If you meditate, you can experience the state of being conscious of being consciousness. You will realize that there is a part of YOU that percieves things (thoughts, images, sensations) but itself cannot be percieved. That is GOD within! his is the subjective realm
That which is refered to as sub conscious is actually the SPIRIT (Nafs), and that includes all of the objective realm, the densest level being the physical world/human body.
False Gods come about from people "worshipping" objects of perceptions, rather than SERVING that which percieves.
SO there are two factors here consciousness/will(God within) and energy/matter(spirit)

My opinion
The 'Real' meaning is 'God' or whatever word you personally use to denote that which is actually known to all of us and denied by many.
It is a symbol or token.
However, arriving at a description will be impossible, since vocabulary is inadeqaute to provide a complete description. At best people will be describing a mixture of their own perceptions, feelings, interests, conditioning, hopes and fears etc., and only ever a part of the whole. There does not exist a 'something' that can fit the statement God = 'something'. (Except maybe God = God).
