When I recently read about Al Andalus in Spain, I immediately thought of the parallel of the situation in Europe at that time with the situation in the Middle East today.

As we know, during the Dark Ages European society plunged into the lowest among the low. While on the contrary the Middle East was basically enjoying the greatest civilization the world had ever seen at that time. The far more advanced Muslims even managed to expand into Spain in the heart of Europe. However, that particular event in history was both a threat and a benefit for Europe. The Spanish Muslims were the ones who passed the long lost European knowledge back into Europe since the fall of the Roman Empire through European scholars such as Michael Scot which eventually triggered the Renaissance and enabled the Spaniards to reconquer Spain from the Moorish Muslims. If Spain never fell into the Middle Eastern Muslims' hands, Europeans might still be taking a shizzle in the bushes today or at least it would have taken them centuries longer to experience the Renaissance.

So, the parallel I'm talking about is that the existence of Muslim Spain in the heart of Europe was basically similar to today's existence of Israel in the heart of the Middle East. Today the situation has been reversed. Now Muslim Middle Easterners are the ones taking a shizzle in the bushes. Therefore, if we learn from what happened in history, the current utterly backward Middle Eastern states should receive Israel with open hands and somehow exploit the situation and 'receive back' all the knowledge which was passed to Europe 1000 years ago. And only when Middle Eastern states manage to surpass their advancement, then they can reconquer Palestine. However, once Palestine is reclaimed the Israelis should not be kicked into the sea like what the Spanish Inquisition did to its Muslim and Jewish population after the Reconquista.

    Peace ,

      Peace Jankren

Israel is definitely a Blessing to the al-Saud Family and the Hashemite family who ran away from the al-Sauds and Took Refuge in Jordan . They even crowned themselves Emir and later King of Transjordania . They are the only Beneficiaries of the creation of Israel . As for the rest of Arabs . its been worse than a Curse .

The Palestinians could have had more Territories than they have now and much sooner ( So thousands of Palestinians could have been Saved ) if they were willing to accept the Political reality after the 6 days War in 1967 . Unfortunately , the Palestinians allowed themselves to be used as Political football by their competing Arab brethren >D ( . Most of the Palestinians are in Jordan and Lebanon , so they should be thinking of merging with Jordan and take back all Palestinians currently living in Refugee Camps in Lebanon. The Reality is......Israel is never going to be dismantle in the foreseeable future .

The Arabs were so Pre-occupied with the Palestinian Question , They lost sight of Iraq and Lost the Oil and gas Rich country to the Invaders ........... '( . Now is Palestine more important than Iraq to the Arabs ?? The Arabs sacrificed the strategically important Iraq for 2 Useless Thrones/Crowns !
The Palestinians have to make their Peace with the Iraelis before they are Driven to The Sea .

      Peace

Something tells me that 'coexistance' is out of the question. But Jankren does have a point if history will repeat itself one more time hmm (New smilies YA! ;D ) Maybe the state of Israel will end fighting between arabs and other ethnics/sunni/shia etc. by giving them an enemy to unite against. But remember that the rennisance was caused when the byzantine empire fell and the people/ it knowledge went to italy. So maybe the fall of a certain coutry will bring benefit to others.

Don't know if this is related to the main post but I thought this article was somewhat interesting.

          http//www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/02/28/israel.animal.ap/index.html

Now, I'm not totally convinced that the sacred mosque is in Jerusalem, but perhaps this verse may prove that truth will prevail?

They are the ones who denied Revelation and hindered you from the Sacred Mosque and the sacrificial animals, detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. Had there not been believing men and believing women whom ye did not know that ye were trampling down and on whose account a crime would have accrued to you without (your) knowledge, (Allah would have allowed you to force your way, but He held back your hands) that He may admit to His Mercy whom He will. If they had been apart, We should certainly have punished the Unbelievers among them with a grievous Punishment.(4825)

          Any thoughts on this people?

          Peace )

Well, those 'extremist' Jews only want to make some ritual animal sacrifices. I see no point from banning them. After all the Jews are more monotheist than any other faiths so we all probably serve the same God anyway. Nevertheless, I think the problem is more political than religious.

Enjoy this brilliant documentary on the muslims who saved the Spanish from oppression and advanced themselves - I believe this was only possible because of them holding onto the Quran.

Israel, a blessing in disguise or a punishment from the Most High...
For sure, if it were not for Israel, the Sunnis, Shiites and others will be slaughtering one another as they are doing in Iraq.
Israel embodies a common enemy they can unite against.
I think some of us (submitters) who hope for the Palestinians to cleanse Palestine from Israelis are very naive indeed.
So far as they (Palestinians) follow Sunna and Hadith, one of the things they will do if granted victory will be to slaughter anyone who is not a Sunni, which includes us...
There is no way I can personally vindicate Hamas, Fatah, Al-Qaeda, Taleban or any other group as long as they follow the path of the Devil, period.
However from a humanitarian point of view, I do not see why there is no arrangement between the Israelis and Palestinians so that their children and women and elderlies experience some peace, and maybe from there God has mercy and open their heart to guidance. Violence is not the only solution...
That being said, it seems to me that on both sides, certain dark forces are invested to keep the cauldron of violence burning, maybe for some hidden agenda and evil design.
                          And God knows best

so Nabster, you listed groups that you say you cant vindicate and that they are on the path of the devil,,, but you didnt mention israel, are they following the path of God, and the muslim countries are the evil ones, please help me understand,, and I also do not think that if the Palestinians were to be liberated that they would then slaughter us all, thats a bit absurd,,, sorry,

                              Peace dude,
with the geopolitical forces in the region, it is not happening.
As for slaughterhouse, you will be surprised... Muslim communities closer to the death of the Prophet did just that...
There is this tendency where people want to die for Islam as opposed to live for it.
If you claim you are a Muslim, it is a huge responsibility and commitment you are taking / making.
Enough of this finding enemies, whereas in many ways we are our own enemy...
Once we clean our act, we will then be in a position to tell others...
                              Oki

Do you know what caused most of the cases of extremism in the Muslim world? It is UNEDUCATION. In the Palestinians case do you expect all Palestinians to behave in 'civilized manner' even though they have not tasted any proper education for over 50 years? Most of today's generation of Palestinians grew up without ever getting adequate education due to occupation.

While i agree that a lack of education causes a lot of problems since you are not as able to think critically / rationally as an educated person, i don?t believe that it can make you into a ?nice person?. I know so many intelligent Sunni Muslims who have had a good British education and are well aware of the difference between ?right and wrong? but when it comes to barbaric sunni dogma they refuse to disregard it, they wholeheartedly support the killing of Muslims who leave what they regard as ?Islam? (a lot of us Quran aloners fit in this category). I have been brought up by the same education system and I don?t hold their narrow-minded, backward views ~ and to be honest I don?t think that my education has made a substantial difference. But at the end of the day there?s only so much education can do, whether an education can make them more liberal is debatable, the herd mentality is very powerful.

Nabster made a great point, Israel embodies a common enemy that sunni/shia can unite against.

Every cloud has a silver lining. D

Good points. Education is only a tool. Guidance comes from The God for those who open up to it. The Quran is written in plain Arabic. The Palestinians can read Arabic.
May I add the following If The God saw an atom's weight of faith in all these Muslim radical (violent) groups, He would have given them victory. There is no way Allah will bestow an advantage to people who claim to follow His guidance, and do the opposite. That we even contemplate forcing God's hands to favor these groups is an insult to The God and a grave sin...

you must be kidding, Lebanon got a major part of its infrastructure destroyed, what kind of victory is that. Victory is when you implement God's system on Earth.
Hezbollah are an Iranian thing which is an enemy to God's cause.
You might remember that the Israelis were welcomed in South Lebanon when Israel went to root out the Fatah group, The Lebanese got fed up of the Palestinians who made them feel as if Lebanon were not their country anymore, with militias patrolling the streets and taking what they wanted from the Lebanese population.
Then came Syria and Iran intervention, with Iran injecting Hezbollah in the South to attack Israel.
This has nothing to do with Deen Bro, but political influence and power grabbing.
I am focusing on the Muslims because they do not seem to want to follow any system including their own.
At least the West have a System and Laws which they (usually) abide by, at least between themselves.
I share this quote with you if you have not heard it
A muslim cleric, Jamal AlDeen Al-Afghani at the turn of the past century went to visit Europe, he was reported to say
I lived among Muslims and I saw Muslims but no Islam, I visited Europeans, and I saw Islam but no Muslims.
To finish, as an exemplar of how the Islamic Empire ended up so rotten The Ottomans took the side of Germany in the wold war, as a result, the Caliphate was annihilated by Allah, and the Islamic Empire or what remained of it got divided between small humiliated dictatorships... If this is not God's powerful wrath I wonder what is...
                                        Cheers dude...
