    Peace M,

Bro, clearly also your understanding of the word slander is different too.

You're right. Slander indicates intent. I don't know your intentions. I should have said "defamation".

Don't worry bro, I understand what you post well enough.

    You think?

    Thanks,
    Tay

Please guys, brothers... Don't be picky on each other. M_Mahdi it's clear that everyone has their own perception and beliefs and it will always be like that. I think you may have portrayed your words in a way that seemed well maybe offensive to Tay or Lobsta, so inshallah let us not brag on about it.

Anyone can advise as they wish. At the end of the day if God wills that I will be confused my whole life then that would be the case. If God wills I find truth and contentment then that will be the case. Advice is advice which means you take and leave what you wish. I thank you all for your concerns and knowledge shared

Blessings of God be with you all.

You see life is about relationships and things we hold dear make us emotionally whether we show it or not it?s funny how sometimes it can come out without even noticing. It?s just how we are everyone shows it be it little or small. Maybe some people wouldn?t admit to it due to their pride or other reasons.. But people will generally defend their belief and if someone says contrary well it?s either shock, confusion or offensive so you?d want to prove yourself, just don?t let it get the best of you inshallah

Words mean things you know, even though they are just words it?s a form of communications sometimes words mean what they are straight out the point. We should follow the good of all and help one another. Not follow what best suits us even if it isn?t so bad, sometimes thing we may think is ok to do can effect in a bad way. People want to be perfect or at least close to it. In life we do things sometimes bad things if you keep doing it eventually the guilt would fade off and it will become ritual it will become normal and hey if society has morphed to accept it then it makes you feel better.

The reason why people have interpreted things different in my opinion is because they have heard of theories and then based on their logic/ knowledge or read up theories of from some else?s view they accept it, then they start taking things deeper by looking at the original root meaning and all sorts of things, and then they think well if past people did it this way I?ll try steer into another direction.. That?s what I think.

I think there is nothing wrong with praying physically, there is no harm, in my point of view. It just depends what you say and how you go about it. There is nothing wrong with supplications making dua just verbally either. If you put trust in God and you really want something to happen I would make dua to me it makes me feel good to me it does something. Isn?t there a verse that says something along the lines of ?call onto me and your prayers will be answered? I know it?s not the exact words but there is benefit. There are benefits and non-beneficial practices that people do, the point is to be wary of your actions and know what you are doing. Anyway everyone does things their own way probably others would say nah nah your interpretations are wrong the message means so and so. But that?s life ay

      Salam

        Peace all

        quote from sarah

LK Well one makes dua for guidance but still there is a guide the Quran and some aspects can leave you confused uncertain lost or unsure think for me anyway..

        not only you, be reassured

everyone thinks their interpretation is the original meaning but I?m starting to think that more than one way can be right in certain aspects not all and it doesn?t necessarily mean it is ?the original meaning?.

        agree

          I think you're right.

3918 The ones who listen to what is being said, and then follow the best of it. These are the ones whom God has guided, and these are the ones who possess intelligence.

          I think you're correct again.

2186 And if My servants ask you about Me, I am near answering the calls of those who call to Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be guided.

I think the key is to always remain open and humble. There is nothing to fear as long as our intention remains sincere.

          Peace,
          Tay

            Salam Sis,

Sister, the whole "offense" thing on this board is out of control. Please remember being offended is something a person takes onto themself. There is a choice to be made and they make the choice of being offended. It is a problem that the offended party has within themself. I didn't see Phoenix taking any offense to anything here as much as Tay who is using tactics, much like the US Republican political party, that once someone opposes their views they cry foul and so starts the accusations etc. All of this for what? Simply because I said I would not take Religous advice from someone who admits they do not follow any Religion nor follow any Religous routine. hmm

I agree, also there is always the factor of the justifications one makes simply because it suits their life style as well. We must always remember to fit our lives to God's message not the other way around.

Nicely put sis! All in all what you are saying above is within the idea of "practice". I agree that it does not matter as much the style in which you do but that fact that you do it and do it with sincerity that is what's important. There is prescribed for us, within the Quran, Religous routine. It is important to understand that these are the fundamental practices in God's Message for human kind.

              Salam Phoenix,

The thing is, Tay was giving advice about the right thing, but according to you it wasn't the right advice. Well, actually, you had no problem with his advice, you just thought he was being hypocritical.

Not at all! This is completely incorrect. I've never accused him of being hypocritical! It's much more simple bro. Like my analogy, if i want advice on a Mercedes, I would not go to a Honda dealer. It's that simple. Even though a Honda mechanic might give his advice on my Benz, I'd know the Mercedes Technician that practices daily on Mercedes would have a much better view on the subject.

Do you believe the Quran is open to interpretation?

No. I don't believe in complete open interpretation. There are principles for understanding the Holy Quran. This is a Revelation which is very self-explanatory, the Holy Quran interprets itself for the most part. The second principle is the interpretation of the Holy Prophet (sallallaho alaihi wa salaam), who is the Messenger of Allah and was charged with explaining the meaning of the Holy Quran. The understanding of the Sahaba (Companions) and Salafus Saliheen (Pious Predecessors) are also important to take account of.

Do you believe certain things in the Quran can be taken on different levels?

                Yes.

Do you believe the varying ways of taking the interpretations is considered right in either sense?

There should not be varying ways of taking interpretation of the Holy Quran.

Do you believe everyone takes the Quran differently based on their understanding, is this considered right?

                This should be considered wrong.

                  As Salaamu Alaika Yusha,

Being in the Ahmadiyah community, which I hopefully assume correctly since you have their weblink attached, do you really believe that Gulam Ahmad was the "mahdi" when the Quran mentions no such person? No disrespect intended.

I know, it's me, it's my problem. It has nothing to do with you.

                    siggghh...
You know, it's funny how I'm the one who opposes your view, and as a direct result, I'm the one who was falsely accused of following my own desires and promoting non-prayer, yet the example of a politician is dumped on me confused

                    It's interesting how that works.

yes, but you said there was nothing wrong with the advice. If a Honda mechanic gives you great advice on a mercedes, you must at least consider that this guy knows something about mercedeses, or that he isn't a honda mechanic at all.

Exactly! It is what it is as the way I see it. Once again, it's all very simple and easy. You said you don't follow any Religion nor Religous routine, I said I wouldn't take Religous advice from someone who doesn't follow any Religion nor any Religous routine. You cried foul accusing me of "slandering" then "defamation" etc.

If both you and the good Lobster would like, please start a thread in the "trash" section where this type of thing belongs and I'll be more than happy to do my best to provide whatever help you both need to feel better about yourselves.

Cute. How about you just stop posting trash about others (ie, unfounded/false accusations) and we'll leave it at that. But continue with the defamation and I'll continue calling you out on out.

                              Peace M,

I listed them 2 posts back. You ignored them.

Didn't you say you stepped away from the pack?

                              Context bro...

Let me break it down for you

Here, when using the word "our", I'm describing all the people who do not live in the convoluted world where insults suddenly disappear.

Earlier, on another thread, when I used the word "pack" (which you also had trouble understanding), it was describing the people who practice "religion" and "religious routine".

                              Does that clear things up?

See bro, It's your own words!! I'm not doing anything, these are your own words here bro!!

Yes, my words, twisted and taken out of context to prove some non-existent point hypno

                              Peace,
                              Tay

                                Salam Tay,

I was talking about when you said you stepped away form the pack of muslims or something to that effect.. and that now it appears you only did that to step into a new pack.. like I said you might think you are giving up tradition but are only creating new ones giveup

Anyway, Tay, you appear to be having certain issues that probably aught to be resolved soon. I can see how much damage it is doing to you. Tell you what until you start that thread so we can deal with your issues, I'll leave you with this to ponder

                                  As Salaamu Alaika Yusha,

Being in the Ahmadiyah community, which I hopefully assume correctly since you have their weblink attached, do you really believe that Gulam Ahmad was the "mahdi" when the Quran mentions no such person? No disrespect intended.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu dear brother!

I am an ex-ahmadi, now converted to Islam by the grace of Allah. I believe that not only was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad a fraud and impostor, but he was among the thirty "small" dajjals whose coming was predicted by Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallallaho alaihi wa salaam)

I however believe absolutely that the REAL Imam Mahdi has yet to come, and he will be the ruler of the Muslims. I also believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ (alaihi salaam). Jazak Allah khair.

                                    Peace M,

I was talking about when you said you stepped away form the pack of muslims or something to that effect..

I explained this already, twice now.

and that now it appears you only did that to step into a new pack.. like I said you might think you are giving up tradition but are only creating new ones

                                    Thanks for the insight.

Anyway, Tay, you appear to be having certain issues that probably aught to be resolved soon.

My only issue is your disrespect and doubletalk. I agree, it should be resolved.

                                    Peace,
                                    Tay

If both you and the good Lobster would like, please start a thread in the "trash" section where this type of thing belongs and I'll be more than happy to do my best to provide whatever help you both need to feel better about yourselves.

                                      what?

Peace Tay, you said ?I think the key is to always remain open and humble. There is nothing to fear as long as our intention remains sincere.?

I guess so though I will disagree a little in regards to intention. Lot?s of people have the right intention just go about things the wrong way. For instance many Christians have the right intention to worship god etc but I wouldn?t consider it the right way, same as Muslim they have good intentions yet they?re actions aren?t so right. What about having the intention to make the most delicious cake but the wrong ingredients.. Intentions and actions matter, in my opinion anyway.

M_Mehdi, off course the offence thing is taken onto the individual person, though clearly I can see that (I think) Tay is offended by your remarks and Lobster is curious to why and then assumptions come about then err it all bursts. It?s fine to take and believe what you wish, you don?t need to take or even read the advice he gives that?s perfectly fine. Though I believe using the analogy was taking things a bit to deep or far.. And I can understand your perspective it?s just an opinion no big deal but please be thoughtful of others emotions ) don?t take me wrong I understand there is nothing wrong with saying you don?t want to take his advice..

Yusha, So what principles do you believe there is to understanding the Quran? Ones that are self explanatory and ones that are interpreted by the prophet? So I?m assuming you believe in ahadith from the prophet. How do you feel about sahih hadith? Do you believe they are as sahih as they state? Where can you get recounts/documents of the past predecessors? Also what about the verses of the quran that don?t have a hadith recount..

So how do we distinguish what level certain things are taken? Through scholarly opinion? Through logic through hadiths?

There should not be varying ways of interpretation of the Quran? Ok well there is such things called ahzab/ mathahab and marja?. So basically sects, school of thoughts and origins? basically they exists because of interpretations. Also school of thoughts there is difference based on hadiths. Scholarly opinion play a BIG actually HUGE impact on the ?halalification? of acts or forbidden acts.

You said you believe that Everyone who takes the Quran differently based on their understanding is considered wrong. Though you agree some things in the Quran can be taken on different levels? Some of those things can impact. And if the opinion of a persons understanding is taken wrong, then how is the Quran interpretations taken ?right? what is the right way of reading/accepting/practising the Quran.

The brotherhood of love is one thing I like about traditional islam, somehow I feel it is lost here. Where's the love group??

                                        Asalamu alaikum
