Why does god send a messenger?
-
If god did we would be following him because of knowledge, not becasue of faith. Knowldege is good but when it comes to the existance of god faith is about all we have.

I read articles written by Phoenic, but I never seen Phoenic face to face before... even if i seen his birth certificate and touched him.. i don't understand why he was born on such and such date nor at such and such location...
therefore is it appropriate for me to conclude, Phoenic does NOT exist?
Would it be okay if i post around this forum "Phoenic is fake." or, "Phoenic has no eyes" or "There is no Phoenic"
Is it okay for me to deny Phoenic's existent? because i don't understand? Because evident is not satisfying for me?
Should I stop ranting, find Phoenic, and talk with him? And trust in him after all this?

Peace all,
Another simple philosophical question
Why does God send a messenger instead of letting everyone know for sure of his existance?Simple.. to convey His message explicitely..
(That's why everybody send a messenger anyway..)A messenger usually (not always) conveys an "ultimatum like" messages.
Repent or be destroyed...
It is that simple actually...
In the Quran it is also stated that the task of Muhammad is just to convey the message.
Wheter they believe or reject is not his responsibility.Salam

Peace all,
Another simple philosophical question
Why does God send a messenger instead of letting everyone know for sure of his existance?you don't know for sure just becaue a human messenger told you?
do you want God to appear to you and tell you He exists? -

I'm assuming "Phoenic" is me, so I'll explain my last post in this thread.
God doesn't send messengers, people become messengers. When they find the truth, and they preach it, they are messengers.
It doesn't make sense to think that God drops a messenger on earth every thousand years or so who brings with him a book which he is not allowed to interpret for others.
People don't need the truth once every thousand years, people need truth everyday. -
If god did we would be following him because of knowledge, not becasue of faith. Knowldege is good but when it comes to the existance of god faith is about all we have.
And that is bad why?
I would rather know than believe. I am sure the world would be better if everyone knew.sending the message is letting everyone know, isn't it?
No. It is letting one person know and asking everyone to believe him.
Another simple answer God doesn't send messengers.
According to Islam, he does.
A messenger usually (not always) conveys an "ultimatum like" messages.
Repent or be destroyed...
It is that simple actually...
In the Quran it is also stated that the task of Muhammad is just to convey the message.
Wheter they believe or reject is not his responsibility.Yes, but why doesn't God tell everyone directly instead of telling one person and directly and asking everyone else to believe?
People think and see things differently. Is it really that big of a crime, after giving it its fair amount of thought and research and not rejecting it out of arrogance, to think that God does not exist? After all, there is no evidence.you don't know for sure just becaue a human messenger told you?
do you want God to appear to you and tell you He exists?Yes and Yes. Or God should more messengers with very obvious miracles continuously.
It doesn't make sense to think that God drops a messenger on earth every thousand years or so who brings with him a book which he is not allowed to interpret for others.
People don't need the truth once every thousand years, people need truth everyday. This is my current conclusion, which I am willing to change if someone comes up with a logical answer. It is one of many questions I have that tackle the existance of God.
For me, if I ignore these questions and simply continue to "believe", then all I have will be blind false faith. -

well because quran contains information that people 1400 years ago could not possibly have known.

I am aware of these interpretations. However, these verses are vague at best. You're looking at one side of the argument. Many others have showed Quranic verses that don't exactly go with science using their own interpretations.
At the end, since God is a belief not a fact, some people will not agree with the theory of creation based on their own way of thinking, not out of arrogance, which results in them being punished for all eternity.peace Saleh, all,
I strongly recommend using the excellent search function of the forum.

http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=13506.msg114110#msg114110Why is believing in God a test in the first place? I mean normally you write your test knowing for sure who you are writing it for. So shouldn't God let us know of his existence and make the test "Do good in this life"?

Why is believing in God a test in the first place?
I mean normally you write your test knowing for sure who you are writing it for.
So shouldn't God let us know of his existence and make the test "Do good in this life"?Perhaps you could tell us your thoughts on the above, i.e. the for/against.

Peace,
Well, I am really leaning towards atheism. This question is one of the few that led me to that path. A divine and fair creator would not put the odds against his creation to pass his test. For me, it sounds more like a set up than a test to create people and not give them the necessary tools to believe and then ask them to believe; necessary tools such as making them all think the same or giving them hard evidence. Also, I question the timing of sending the prophets. Why aren't they sent nowadays when earth is populated by billions of people and spreading news is extremely easy and storing it is even easier. Paper wasnt easy to come by in the old days and many of the verses were written on bones.
I respect all your opinions, but as I said, people think differently. For me, religion makes no sense right now. I really made an honest effort to answer many of the questions. If I am to be doomed for eternity for thinking, then so be it. I still like the ethical code in the Quran and I will still abide by it. But there will be no worshipping since I don't believe, for now.

peace,
Well, I am really leaning towards atheism.
Ahh. As an aside, the reason I asked for your for/against was that I detected a bias in your thinking so wanted to see how well you had thought out your own questions.
I was a little disappointed you did not address your own questions that you asked me, but anyways I shall answer with questions...
A divine and fair creator would not put the odds against his creation to pass his test. For me, it sounds more like a set up than a test to create people and not give them the necessary tools to believe and then ask them to believe;
Isn't it amazing that some people find it so difficult and others find it so easy to believe?
necessary tools such as making them all think the same or giving them hard evidence.
Think the same? You mean getting rid of free-choice? (commonly called free-will) Hard evidence? Like a book? Like 4153 or like actually God?
Also, I question the timing of sending the prophets. Why aren't they sent nowadays when earth is populated by billions of people and spreading news is extremely easy and storing it is even easier. Paper wasnt easy to come by in the old days and many of the verses were written on bones.
So lets say prophets with a scripture came today and it was easy to preserve like you imply... where is the test? Have you pondered upon what requirements are necessary for a test?
I still like the ethical code in the Quran and I will still abide by it. But there will be no worshipping since I don't believe, for now.
Pondering upon and abiding by The Quran is a good start! What is worship? Do you mean a specific expression of thanks to a God? Do you mean servitude-type worship? When someone passes you the salt do you say thanks?
Please note my responses are not meant to be answers, nor THE answer but simply avenues to explore perhaps, if time is generous to you.

Peace,
I was a little disappointed you did not address your own questions that you asked me
I can't answer my own question. That is why I asked it. I cannot find a logical answer which leads me to believe there is no God.
Isn't it amazing that some people find it so difficult and others find it so easy to believe?
Not really. It is just that people don't ask the same questions. The existence of God is a philosophical delima, hence why people "believe" and not "know". You will always find different theories to philosophical delimas. Nobody can prove that God exists or not. You might find it easy to believe, billions would disagree with your beliefs however.
Think the same? You mean getting rid of free-choice? (commonly called free-will) Hard evidence? Like a book? Like 4153 or like actually God?
When it comes to knowing God, I will gladly give up my free-will in this matter. As for a hard evidence I can think of many; one would be not to send messengers and relay the message to every soul directly. On that note comes another questions, is it really fair that only a selected few (prophets) "know" about God while the rest of humanity has to believe?
So lets say prophets with a scripture came today and it was easy to preserve like you imply... where is the test? Have you pondered upon what requirements are necessary for a test?
Many believers still commit sin. The test would be to act based on your knowledge of God.
Pondering upon and abiding by The Quran is a good start! What is worship? Do you mean a specific expression of thanks to a God? Do you mean servitude-type worship? When someone passes you the salt do you say thanks?
I mean I won't pray, I won't ask God for help nor forgiveness, etc etc since I don't believe in God.

Maybe its us. What if our senses cannot truly perceive God and through the methods we use to learn we could not handle the massive amount of information that would arrive at us so quickly. So he has to send the message through ways we can see and understand it. I personally believe that if we were to hear god's voice our brains would implode because we our body's could handle it.
