    Peace,

Would a fair God have chosen people
That is correct. However, people who use their brains and come up with the wrong conclusion will go to hell right? they will go to hell because they made a mistake that really hurt nobody and their only crime was the imperfection that they were created with that caused them to not come to the supposedly right conclusion.

"Would a fair God have chosen people"

Would a fair God have made it so that 10% of people own 90% of wealth?

"That is correct. If you use your brain, you cannot reach a wrong conclusion.

      only God knows.

and what's so unfair about choosing people?
it's not like He chose some liar who was obsessed with wealth and who was deceiving people to get something.
these messengers were honorable humans who lived among their people for a long time, so these people knew that these messengers weren't liars.

Not everyone will get the right answers in math tests even when they know the formulas and math laws involved in the problem. Now imagine the "Does God exist?" problem where many of the pieces are missing. Do you honestly expect everyone to come to the same conclusion?

        Peace nerspi,

        only God knows.

Quran contains many verses which state that non believers will go to hell.

What is unfair is that they didn't have to go through the hardest test for normal people; believing. Why do you have to go through that test while they don't? There were always plenty of honorable humans. Only few were selected.

          Peace all,

What is unfair is that they didn't have to go through the hardest test for normal people; believing. Why do you have to go through that test while they don't? There were always plenty of honorable humans. Only few were selected.

The ones selected had to go through the HARDEST of tests !

They faced persecution from their people and had to leave their homes and flee many times. The stories of Abraham, Joseph, Job, Jonah, Moses, etc. are preserved in al-qur'aan as examples of all the trials and tribulations they had to face.

They had tremendous responsibility and one small misstep and they would have been destroyed.

6944 And had he attributed anything falsely to Us.
6945 We would have seized him by the right.
6946 Then, We would have severed his life-line.
6947 None of you would be able to prevent it.

Using the current scientific knowledge about the universe, we are in a much better position to appreciate the beauty and the amazing complexity of the creation thus acknowledging and KNOWING the existence of the creator, than all the previous prophets and messengers.

I really think I should stop this debate. I hoped for answers and did not come to prove the opposite of what I believe is false, even if it might have looked that way. I apologize for that.

I believe that this community is a bright spot in our little world. It promotes "true" free thinking and respect of other people and their opinions, which is hard to find nowadays.

            Peace.

hmm... good chooses prophets? or prophets choose god?

(if i had to pick i'd say #2)

anyways keep using ambiguous supposedly scientific facts to try to convince people... but you're wasting your time

people don't go searching for god because they have a lack of science in their lives, they do it because they have a lack of spirit in their lives

the most true book that will show us the signs is the book of the universe, the story we can see unfolding before us and feel deep within

Actually, if you use your brain in a math test, you will either get the answer, not get an answer due to lack of knowledge, or get an error answer - where something went wrong in your calculations. I presume that is what you meant. If so, thisi s why we group up, is it not?

"Quran contains many verses which state that non believers will go to hell."

And you know who these non-believers are?

No, they went through the hardest tests instead.
