Tell the truth.

Do you ever think
Religion is a load of nonsense!
Do you?

Peace
Basically, I'm saying no one should be painting broad stroke when determining if a whole system is nonesense. I'm sure there is usally sense mixed up in there. There may be no non-sense, and the only thing nonsensical is myself. Human perception is limited in its scope. We are usually not the best people to determine Truth or untruth.

100% handshake

Religion is a load of nonsense!

Yes and no.
The common perception is a crock. Social pressure + language barrier + preconceptions + desire for the supernatural = organised religion. I thought the world was bad when I had a Sunni mindset, but it gets ever so slightly worse.
-
Maybe not religion, but definately the way people perceive it.
Everyone thinks that.
But what if it is religion itself that is nonsense?
What if the the Qur'an was not the word of God?
What if all holy books and divine revaltions are merely the product of the human mind?
-

Organized religion, yes. Religious anarchy, no.

What is "religion" anyway?
In Quran they've translated the word "Dhien" into "Religion".
"Dhien" is not a "religion" as we perceived it today.
"Dhien" (Arabic) or "Daena" (Persian) or "Dharma" (Sanskrit) is closer in meanings to "Attitude/Behaviour".
And that makes sense since "Dhien Islam" = "Submission To God Attitude / Behaviour"Salam

i do wonder about that sometimes. i'll go through periods of serious doubt, which also strike at the same time as periods of alienation and depression. ya, i do wonder.
i remember asking my father when i was small which religion was right, and he replied that they all have some truth in them.
while i doubt, i still have a strong desire to believe in something, to reconcile the kind of fractured depressed feeling with something whole and clarifying. so even while in doubt and spiritually sick, i realize there is a strong need for some kind of "remedy", and have faith that that remedy exists, and can be found again.

Tell me what makes sense and I'll make that my religion.
I like that!!

You seem full of doubt CosmicDancer

Tell me what makes sense and I'll make that my religion.
The Golden Rule seems quite enough to me
"Treat other as you wish to be treated."
...though this may be problematic if one is a masochist lol

No problem..
If you're masochisting others who doesn't like to be masochisted,
then you'll be masochisted by others the way you don't like to be masochisted.. (Over masochisted ) -
Peace alen
and welcome back, long time no see
cosmic dancer said religion was a load of nonsense and that is what the others responded too
even though may be for him quran is included in this statement, it is not forcibly the case for the others who answered
i personally might treat religion as a load of nonsense, but not the quran

And what if everything about Hell in The Quran is The Truth?
Did you ever think that?
Then what?
Scared?Yes.
But I refuse to let fear dictate my actions.
If God is truly a vindictive, sadistic torturer - I still refuse to bow down to him.
I prefer to stand against something I find detestable - even over my own salvation.
