May Allah help you in your hard time and make your stand firm and make things as easy as possible for you dotty. pr He is the all Listener and Knower.

Thank you so much mmkhan and I also pray the same.

My daughter is only 7 years old and this was the 2nd traumatic experience she has suffered in the last 9 months. Then tonight, just a short time ago, we learned of some very big news that is devistating my daughter from a 3rd source. I don't know how much more she can sustain, or how much strength I have left. My husband is really having a tough time watching his little girl suffer all these things.

I know God has a plan for everything. If God don't give anyone more than they can bear... I hope her limit has been reached for a long time. '(

We pray together and trust that God is helping us in ways we just can't see yet.

    Sorry, gotta go now. Peace

      peace to you dotty,
You and your family are added in my prayers.

As Al Araf correctly pointed out the story of Moosa travelling with an Angel is the story always I look into when I face hardship. God has well described it in 3 good examples. Patience and faith is the key.

We can approach hardships in the following ways 1. To acknowledge that "some thing better is coming for us."
      2. To acknowledge that "it is God's way of testing our patience and eeman."(.-ie God has chosen us and we got the elegibility to give the test paper. We should welcome the oppurtunity and try to earn as much point as possible.)
      3. To acknowledge that " some thing we have to check ourselves in our life with regards to eeman or deeds" - it should be treated as a small dose or a shock or a warning or small punishments from the almighty to keep us in right track.(Probably the things which do not have any link to the situation even.). For example when our children behave badly to us and we feel bad. we should not stop limit our thoughts analysing only the those matters involving directly with our children or even limited to our dealings with our own parents. Instead you can consider the matters like you did not take care of your salat properly, might have a ignored a "miskeen" who was infront of you, I the business we have done something unfair to the customer,
      4. To acknolwedge the fact that "each individual has got varying levels of capacity to take burden- More hardship one face that means more capacity he has got within himself. ". We should trust in almighty that he will not burden us more than we cannot bear and not be proud on our capacity levels and should be humble enough to seek help from almighty to not to overburden. (Some people think they can take any levels of hardships since they are mentally and physically strong)". Person who has got vision and who is blind is not same. A person who has vision will be given more responbility and will be rewarded on the basis how he handled the responsibility. A person with vision who handled responsiblity in a righteous way would be preferred and better rewarded by God than blind man who has not committed any crime or any bad deeds.
      5. To believe that for every hardsips there is a happiness attached with it.
      6. To believe that like waves in the ocean-hardships come one after the other we have to face until we meet our lord.
      7. to believe that if only happiness and no hardships are seen in God has not included us in his favourites list -for God says for the disbelivers he has given a time in this world in which they can enjoy and live happy, later he will catch them on a surprise where they cannot go back to correct the mistake and God knows very well that even if they were given the oppurtunity to go back they will not realise.
Even phrophets used to shiver infront of Almighty's test and to cry for mercy and say when God will shower with the blessing. The point is -phropets who supposed to have better mental capacity could shiver infront of God's way of testing what could be our condition. What we call hardsips or challenges will be dealt in different manner by different individual depending on their habits, upbringing, their profession, their skills and their ambitions etc.
      Example
A person who is an athlete will take a situation when his car is broke down on the way as an oppurtunity to practise his walking skills but a trader may see it as a loss of time and energy where he lost an oppurtunity to sell a client. One thinks positive and other thinks negative on the similar situation.

The above are based on my life experience and based on Al Quran. I honestly did not quote evidences or verses from quran because I am bit lazy and I want to post my views at the earliest so that I can move to the next assignment.
Think positively about life .With all the difficulties and problems we face still we can believe we are better off and among the priveleged ones when look to the sufferings out there.
      Al Hamdu lillahi rabbil alameen.

      Abdu

salam abdu. may allah bless you for reciting quran. while i sympathize with dotty's daughter, and her trial, allah has repeatedly told us, that whatever he allows to occur is not without an incredibly good reason.

dotty's daughter needs to be told the story of musa and the angel. rather than be left questioning why the incident occurred. the previous revelations and the current revelation, all have stories of some of the greatest people that ever lived. the greatest people, all went throught great trials. immensely hard trials. some wavered for a minute, however only those who had an abiding faith in allah made it through. there is a great lesson for mankind in this.

the rest of this post in not in reference to dotty's or her family, do not take it as such a thing.

i have seen people beg allah for help and answers, then allah sends help and answers. after allah sends help and answers they forget they were begging allah for help before, and in arrogance reject that which allah sent them for answers and help. this is why, allah says, do not ask me about the unjust.

i have personally witnessed people whom allah kept under the thumb of a situation, i was cautious and doubting, thinking allah must have a good reason for why this is going on, then i cautiously prayed to allah, and he replied, lifting the situation, next thing you know a very evil personality emerged. i was shocked, and this personality attacked me, me the person who prayed for them. that is the thanks i got for my prayers. i made taubah to allah, and let that person go their way. allah has not abandoned them, i am to be patient, and wait for allah's instruction.

have faith in allah, he is perfection with no doubt.

          Peace Alan,
Please read the below link in particular verses 5-7
          http//free-minds.org/quran/PM/92

The suffering most of us experience is not as terrible as the suffering that exists in this world. Some people do not see justice in their lifetimes. To trust in goodness means believing the day will come when everyone will be repaid for what they have done. If all was for no reason, human stupidity, selfishness, then what "these children got...." would be the end of the story.

818 And when the girl killed in infancy is asked,
819 ?For what crime was she killed??
8110 And when the records are displayed.

917 And a soul and what He made.
918 So He gave it its evil and good.
919 Successful is the one who betters it.
9110 And failing is the one who hides it.

In answer to your question, yes I can comprehend what you are saying, but I can choose what to believe at the end of the day.

I agree,I would not have it any way,but what exactly is the suffering in this world that does not effect us - humans?

the story of Moosa travelling with an Angel

              Salaam abdu,

This is indeed a great example, and my husband has been telling this story to my daughter since she was a baby. She knows well that God is with her and has never asked why these things are happening. You posted thought provoking points. Thank you for taking the time.

I apologise if anything I may have said interferes with you dealing with the situation,I will not be debating on this thread again as It may not be appropriate?

              Salaam alan,

Since I am the one who posted my situation, you are welcome to reply.

Ok, now we are going away for a while. Although we have every trust on Allah and pray regularly, we need to get away and regroup. I don't feel we are being punished for anything. I do, however, believe we are being greatly tested. Inshallah, Inshallah, Inshallah... bless my daughter so much!

In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
              The Almighty, the Merciful.
Sovereign of the Day of Judgment.
You alone we serve, and You alone we seek for help.
Guide us to the straight path.
The path of those whom You have blessed, not those who have incurred the wrath, nor the misguided.

              Peace

                  Salaam ay,

I'm getting ready to leave my office, but thought I would type a post here before I went home.
We are going away (tonight) for a couple of weeks and taking a break from worldly things. Inshallah,
we will be back in early October (after Eid) and I will visit this forum again. Thanks ay for your kindness.

I also wanted to share this

When you're tired and discouraged from failing effort?
God knows how hard you tried.

When you've cried so long and your heart is in pain?
                  God has counted your tears.

If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by?
                  God is waiting with you.

When you're lonely and your friends are too busy for a phone call?
                  God is by your side.

When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn?
                  God has a solution.

When nothing makes sense and you're confused or frustrated?
                  God has the answer.

When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for?
                  God has blessed you.

When something joyful happens and you're filled with wonder?
                  God has smiled on you.

When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow?
                  God has opened your eyes.

Remember that wherever you are or whatever you're facing?
                  God knows.

May the Almighty Creator of life and death bless you all. See you soon!
