  • Why believe in God?
    A aynur

I don't believe in god, but if you mean Creator in general, it's because I can perfectly understand and agree with it. It's perfectly reasonable to me.

That's how I see it as well.

I see everything as being too organized to just have been randomly created.

I could not find an analysis or justification as to why these are "mutawatir". I was arguing with a Sunni and he ran out of arguments so he gave this link with the mutawitir seal of approval. Stoning and many examples of seeing the unseen are in there.

Is there any scholarly articles regarding mutawitir criticism etc.?

    Peace and thanks..

Oh, and another one I question

"Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported
I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying He who is lamented upon would be punished because of the lamentation for him on the Day of Judgment.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim 1549"

How can we be punished for someone else's actions??!

I don't know ... but, in just skimming through these, I came across 2 conflicting ones, one right after another

"Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said The Prayer performed in congregation is twenty-five degrees more excellent than the Prayer performed by a single person.

Hadith number in Sahih Muslim 1034"

"Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said The Prayer performed in congregation is twenty-seven degrees more excellent than the Prayer performed by a single person.

Hadith number in Sahih Muslim 1038"

    So which is?!!!!!!! 25, or 27?!! -\

How did you first come to learn about Quranism ( for a lack of a better word) ? Actually I was like everyone in my society at the beginning, had standard knowledge of Islam, for a while tried to be brainwashed by Gulen supporters, thank God, got rid of them, after then I became only Quran follower but still non practicising. By the way I do not like terms like Quranism and Quranist )

i just wanted to share something with all of you guys but sorry you guys wont believe in what i say. and to the scientist. i did not say the jinns true form is like a color we never seen but i gave an example. the females jinn as i sed glow a golden/orangish color. but their nature if u see them is something you will never thought to have been possible for humans to experience/see. its like saying what if you saw a human that is able to fly and teleport would ever thought that can exist ? NO i gave an example with the colors. sorry if my example did not make sense to you. also im guessing you guys don't believe in black majic as it was done to our prophet mohammed and thus the last 2 surahs were revealed due to this. but its okay you guys can believe what you want. my life is at serious trouble and have been messed up from black magic effect and i believe only allah can help at this situation because the jinns and also many other trustful people i know that treat with black majci told us to just pray to allah because theres nothing more they can do to help. and i would like to share one more thing with you guys as i am very true to my islamic faith i always pray to allah about my family situation but couple months ago one day allah showed me a clear sign that he was listening to me and i made a video about it. it really made me happy and smile but i am still going through alot of stuff. you guys can take a look and again you can believe it is real or not just sharing. thank you and asalaamulikum.
heres the link to my video

I'm personally not doubting you about the jinns.

The video you posted though, I'm wondering why Allah would only write in Arabic, if you don't understand it??

    salaam
hello i have talked to jinns and have seen them before. you guys can believe me or not it wont really matter to me. i had gone to Bangladesh for treatment of black magic done to my family. we went to this lady and guy my mom knows and the guys dad had taught quran to many people and their were jinns that would come and learn in human form. after the guys dad died the jinns stayed with him and his wife saying we can help people with sickness from black magic and stuff. anyways the jinns go inside the women and they talk to us. anyways well the ladies voice changes and what not, it is like a possession but there good jinns. there is a whole family of jinns that they live with them and they don't harm them. they have helped many people with black magic as they did to my mom along time ago where you can read about it in another thread have made. so yeah this time they told us people messed up my brothers and wat not and it is too late they cannot do nothing and just to pray to allah. my family is going through alot of pain from magic effects. anyways i was interested and talked to them. and asked them what they eat and they told me they eat sweet food they eat like us. they have another world parellel to us. they can also take forms but if u ever see a person without a shadow then u can know they are jinns in form of humans. also they said they can travel from place to place as if how we in our mind imagine a place. the time it takes for us to imagine they can travel to the particular place. also i asked them if i can see their true form but they said they wont because it would scare me and theydont want to. anyways that jinn knew how to speak English Bengali Arabic and Hebrew. i talked to them in English Bengali and a little Arabic that i know. anyways after they left the lady get unconscious and doesn't have a clue what had happened. it is as if she woke up and is very tired . also i asked the guy if he could tell me how they look. and he told me every Friday night the jinns show their true form to them and they are like a family to them. they travel all around but when they say a certain words and stuff they can call them to come. anyways they live in Bangladesh and also London they travel from place to place. also i forgot the jinns have told me when i asked them if they can go to space. and they said before in their ancient times jinns would be able to goto space just normally but now it is not possible and they use medium such as us how we use space shuttles to go to space. also i asked them how come in America(where i live) and other big countries how come they do not know about they jinns if here in Bangladesh their are jinns and stuff. and the jinn told me i seem very interested and stuff but they didn't have time to talk because their mom was sick so they said they had to go. but they told me do you really think they dont know jinns exist? they told me that the world what we see is not what it really is. American government secretly know jinns exist and have been working with them for each others gains since many many year ago. they told me that if they expose jinns to humans it will make a big hassle and people would be frightened and it would cause a out lash and what not. they know that jinns exist and they hide it. also wait back to how the jinns look. they did not want to tell me how they look but the guy told me afterward because i seemed so interested. he told me that the guy jinns in their true forms are figured like us but are very tall with big hands and big bodies. they have a glow to them when they reveal themselves. he said if you see them you would get very scared but its used to him now. also he said the males show a little glow on themselves and also the female jinns are averaged around tall male humans and they have little wings that are tucked in and they are beautiful creatures he said and the whole room glows a golden orangish color and its something very beautiful he said. and yeah that's my experience if anyone is interested. also i just remembered the jinns told me they have religions just like we humans do but they have a much greater amount of different religions and also that they themselves are Muslim and their generation goes back to the time of prophet mohammed where a few jinns heard the recitation of the quran and became Muslims and he is from that generation of jinns thus he is a Muslim jinn because that is the start of how jinns became musims. also i forgot to mention when i asked what they eat the jinn that was inside the lady said near there are 3 other jinns and they gave raisin which appear from thin air in the ladies hands it was pretty strange. but yeah i ate them and they said we eat sweet stuff like raisins. anyways that's my story. believe if or not its up to you guys. thanks

    Salaam.

Huh, very interesting. Someone close to me has said the same thing, that the US government uses jinns. I think people here see "ghosts" instead of jinns, but it's the same thing. I also thought that they would be in a parallel type of world.

A COLORFUL CHILDREN?S GUIDE TO ISLAM

    ...
Bakkar first went on a search for books about Islam to feed her children?s curiosity, but all she found were books about the Prophet Mohamed, stories about other prophets and nothing much about Islam.

?The books I did find were in Arabic and our children were raised in foreign schools, American schools and a very westernized culture and I couldn?t find anything that addressed them according to their mentality,? she explained.

The books available in the market, Bakkar discovered, handled the subject matter with an intimidating approach and had no pictures ? a turn-off for children.

?Even those with pictures showed people in ancient times, wearing galabeyyas, with long beards, living in tents, in the desert with camels. Our children can?t relate to images like these because they don?t live in that kind of setting anymore.?
    ...

?These books are not meant to teach you how to pray or how to fast because then you would have to, out of fairness to all the sects, accommodate all the differences. The purpose of the books is to teach children the why behind each and every pillar,? said Bakkar." ...

I ordered 2 of Mennah Bakkar's books from an Arabic/Muslim bookstore in California, and received them last week ... and am a bit disappointed at some of the material in one of them especially.

In the book 'Let's Pray', it stresses that the last, and most important reason to pray is to "Get good Points", to please Allah and "go to paradise". It says "In the Quran, Allah promised us that whoever prays properly and regularly will certainly go to paradise".
It also stresses that at the end of the book "prays for 4 reason .... and to score good points to please Allah and go to Paradise".

REALLY?!!!!! So that means any nutjob who does terrible thing is going to paradise because they perform their prayers?!!!!! nope

It does show how to get wudu without adding much extra at least.

Another thing that is incorrect in this book is "Girls and Mummies have to wear special praying clothes to cover their hair and body because Allah asked us to do this in the Quran". Where?!!!!!

The book "I am a Little Moslem" was better, although it stresses doing good things to score "good points", and getting a lot of good points so you can go to paradise.

  • Why Quran only is not a viable alternative to mainstream Islam(Sunnism)
    A aynur

Without the belief in God and in the hereafter, the belief that good deeds will be rewarded and bad deeds will be punished; there is no incentive to act good.

    I disagree (respectfully).
There is a lot that is passed down on us from society (kind of like you mentioned, but I'm talking about what is considered acceptable behavior or not) - and how we are raised by our parents definitely shapes us. I believe that there is also something internal, placed there by God - that is our barometer of whether or not something is good. There is an incentive to act good to feel at peace with yourself.

Where are those ayats for "grave Punishment" do you have any references.

I think the OP is saying that there are very serious punishment(s), not referring to "punishment in the grave". Not sure if that's what you were asking about.

  • Good Turkish translation??
    A aynur

Both ways aynur. He should not try to change you or you him. Without the will of Allah no one could change anyone.

3923 God has sent down the best narrative, a Book that is similar with
two paths. The skins of those who are concerned towards their
Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to
the remembrance of God. Such is the guidance of God; He guides
with it whoever He wills. And for whoever God misguides, then
    none can guide him.

Well said, and thanks for the quote, it reassures me.

What happened to no compulsion in deen/religion/system (2256)?

You mean I shouldn't push it? If that's what you're saying, then I agree. I can't force him to see anything more than what he wants to see.

    General Issues / Questions

  • Good Turkish translation??
    A aynur

    Yasar Nuri Ozturk, it's great.

So I finally was going to buy his translation since Tulumba had it in stock, but once my husband heard his name he was like 'no no no that guy is crazy, saying that you only have to pray 3x a day, etc'.... so, I guess it's better that I didn't go ahead and spend the almost $40 on it if he would probably just throw it away.

    General Issues / Questions

  • Trouble with such differing views
    A aynur

Clearly I'm not the only one with these issues You are dead right about the children thing - things become much more complicated once there are children and it's very good to realise that before you get too far into the relationship. Praise God I did just that, but I have children already and I have experienced the ''difference in values/opinions'' already in relation to them. It is hard. Thanks for your comments.

I also have kids ... but fortunately at this stage (they're still pretty young) I am the one who is mainly teaching them about things. Even though my husband is pro-hadiths, he's not as adamant about them like his other family is.
It is a huge gap, even with us both being Muslims - we have vastly different views on things. He sometimes attacks me (verbally, not physically) and says that I don't follow Islam, or other related things. The other day he was asking if I know lyrics for certain songs - I replied in the affirmative - and his next question (which wasn't unexpected) was why I couldn't memorize the Qur'an. I told him I saw no point in memorizing it, I would just be repeating something I didn't understand. Makes perfect sense to me, but not to him.
