Feminism is not about equality. It is also not natural because men and women are not equal (although they are equal in worth and dignity). "The male is not like the female" (336). And after all, we have this section with it's restriction because we are on Feminist-Minds... err I mean Free-Minds.

I suggest there be a men's section too, or we get rid of this section and move the threads to general/marriage or wherever they belong.

At the end of the day, the Quran is still addressed to men anyhow. Is there any wonder that so-called "Quran Alone Muslim" women (and feminist men without a backbone) want to outlaw or protest polygyny, differences in sexual law punishments for men and women, wife spanking (as a last resort) and other things?

I am sorry for replying a months-old post. Just want to tell you that equality =/= similarity. People who fight for gender equality are not seeking or attempting to make or make people see that women and men are the same, but women and men should have social and economic equality.

I am a humanist. I am an agnostic theist (or a deist).
When I wrote my personal info, I just finished high school. I was waiting for final exam results. I thought that I either would study abroad (in a truly secular country like Sweden) or study in a private college / uni (where most of the students are either secularists or non Muslims who do not give a sh1t about what people want to believe or disbelieve). So I was not frightened by the personal info that I had written at that time. BUT NOW I am in a government uni. Islam plays a huge part in this uni even though female students with Islam as their religion in documents have the option to either wear hijabs or not. I do not feel safe here. In my country Muslims (Sunnis) who either want to follow different versions of Islam or leave Islam will be arrested by moronic Islamic authority. They are dumb superstitious morons who are offended by women having or wanting to have the same rights as men and unrelated women and men hugging.
By the way FreedomStands, I hope you know that Islam that this forum represents is not mainstream Islam. I can say as a humanist that this version of Islam is the loveliest scripture-based faith.

If you define a word in a certain language using a scripture, it would become problematic. Scriptures like the Quran are not lexicons or dictionaries.

The Arabs have been using Allah for centuries, even before the Quran existed. Christian Arabs also use Allah and say Allah has a son named .
Allah = an Arabic word.

It is a false lingual fact to say the Arabic word Allah is not God. Don't define a word using your favourite scripture. Quran is not a lexicon. Even in Lane's lexicon, Allah is translated into God (capital g).

Some different words in a particular language may be the same when they are translated in another language.

I did not say having sex with hundreds of people. I said LOVE COUPLES, not one-night stands. Love couples mean partners who have committed relationship to each other, the difference is they are just not paperly married.
