    Thamudic Inscription - Sana?a Museum

    To be continued?

Great research but I have a question If the Quran was revealed in south Arabia then you would expect it to be written in the Thamudic script. So why was it written in the northern Nabataean script?

Don't forget the hurricane I lived through here in 2008. It is not just the poor, it is just that poorer countries are less able to deal with it. A country like Haiti does not have any building codes so most of their buildings will collapse much easier than in most other countries.

    You are right Rev.

    Hello,
I have found this site and have read a copy of The Message and I am really taken by the whole thing. I really feel truth and everything flowing from it. Here's my problem I am married with kids, and we are Jewish. My wife and family would KILL me (probably not literally) if they knew how I felt about the Quran and these things. What do I do? How can I reconcile my life and my G-d? Like, how should I pray now? Do I continue in Hebrew? Can I believe these things and pray and read the Quran yet worship in synagogue with my family? I feel really stuck and and I'm not sure who to turn to or assistance, besides G-d. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Peace and welcome

You can pray to the god in whatever language you feel comfortable(the god understands all languages), but the most important thing is not to associate partners with him. This is the main message of the quran.

  • Defenition of marriage suggests sex before marriage permitted?!
    H Hadi

    Hi siki,

Get ready to get harrassed. D

I guess the 'mohasanat' are women LOCKED by a dowry. Mohasanat are divided into 'Mohasanat from the women' which is forbidden to marry because they are married to believers and 'the believing Mohasanat' which are women who were married to disbelieving men but left them(during peace or war) due to their belief. Now, what your right hand possess will include believing free woman 'fatayat mominat' and believing married women 'mohasanat mominat'. Who is harder to marry?? The believing married women because you will have to return the dowry to their husbands and so we understand the following verse.

425 If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women 'Mohasant', they may wed believing girls 'fatayat' from among those whom your right hands possess And Allah hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for married women. This is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

    Hope that helps.

    Peace,

    Rami

    Peace Rami,
I think you have just solved this mystery bravo. The bottom line is, basically If you can't afford to marry women to whom you have to pay a dowry twice(one dowry to them and the other to their disbelieving husbands) then marry the single girls(fatayat). This way you'll have to pay one dowry only. Simple. The only thing left for us to figure out is the meaning of ma malakat aymanukum.

  • The Myth that Women have to "Obey" their Husbands
    H Hadi

    Peace.

I look around me,and see muslim couples manage themselves, without,no obedience from non.I see couples discuss, and come to a mutual agreement, without nobody have to obey the other.

I dont think a marrige is a ship, that are in need of one captain, there are two adults involved, and mutual agreements, must be the basic. Then there will be no chaos. To be a captain on a ship, you need education,so on a boat it is the person best fit to rule a ship, that is the captain.

    Marrige in Islam,is a contract,with mutual benefits.

Every buisness beetween equals,is done with mutual agreement, why is that different, when a woman is involved? She has to be obedient?

No,it is the same old, same old, thinking that a man,is always better equipted, than women,in deeling with life and truth, even when the reality shows us different.Men that kill their wifes, and dont think they are few,79% of all women gets killed by a man that they are in relationship with,or has been.Very often, this men are used to obedience from their wifes, and when they dont, bam. And the men belong to every corner in this world, and with religion or not religion.
Muslim countries have choosen not to deal with their honory killings, that happen every day.Obedience is a key word here,in this sad storys, where men think that if a lady disobey, and by that deforme tha family honour, they can be killed.Jordan for example, have in their criminal laws, the reduced sentences, for husbands, brothers, fathers, that commit this kind of crimes, but most often cases do not go to court.

Just forget obedience, and get your minds on mutual agreement.

    bravo

Thanks for those words of wisdom, Marleya

    Anna,

well thank you very much, maybe i am naive or maybe you need glasses, didnt read right, i dont remember saying anywhere i do or dont beleive in him.

I suggest you go back and read your post you refered to him as a messenger and then you asked why god is now sending younger messengers. Now what does that say?

and no need to be insulting, it was only advice.

what i dont understand is that god has always brought messengers after the age of 40 accept for jesus, im not sure about yahya though,i dont recall any others in the quran being younger then forty.why now mind you i know of a messenger by the name of ahmad nashitobi hehas his own website as well. and i know others that have suggested to be messengers, who are younger then forty, but why god change his ways now... ???

Please don't be offended but I think that you are very naive. I browsed through Nishitoba's website before and I found it to be full of nonsense. This guy actually claimed that god inspired him through some calculations from the great reading to predict an earthquake in San Francisco on the 9th of November and every year when it doesn't happen he claims that god delayed it and that it will happen next year with new calculations to back it up. Would god promise something and then break his promise? of course not. what does this have to do with the message of god? There are more self proclaimed messengers like him in the 19.org website following the same trend. These people have no fear of god and they're playing with his book and are misguiding people. Be careful of them.

    Peace Truthseeker11

424 combined with 425 implies that if we want to marry (ankih) the "self-protected"/mohsanat we can marry only those whom we have given an oath of financial protection and support first. Therefore, such an oath is a pre-requisite to marry the "mohsanat"/self-protected.

What does "self-protected" mean? and why do you think that god forbids marriage with them unless they are among the "ma malakat aymanukum?

    Thanks,

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • What are the Furtherst Mosque and the Sacred Mosque (17:1)
    H Hadi

    Peace sister Samia,

    Salaam all

This is my understanding of this issue
I noticed that all translations translate "bait " as "house". It's home" and there's a difference. An empty house is not a home. In the qur'aan "bait" is either having people living in it, or is a concept. For example, who are "aalul bait"? Are they one family living in a house, or those members of that family, no matter where they live, but share the same level of piety? Also, the verse speaking of "baitul 3ankabout the spider web" and describing it as the weakest of homes". This description alludes to the lack of safety to any creature that enters it, and not a physical weakness.

Albaitul 7araam, in my opinion, is "the home" in which duels the backbone of the system of God, the straight path. It's not a coincidence that the verses describing the straight path (6151-153) start by Come and I will recite to you what God make inaccessible/prohibited (7arrama) to you...This is the home where everyone, irrespective of their faith, will feel safe; This is the Home of God, the obedience of the inaccessible (almasjidul 7araam).

From there the messenger went in his noctrne journey to paradise, the farthest/absolute obedience, where there's no conflicting interests or fighting desires, and there he encountered Jibril.

Hajjul bait debating and teaching these concepts of siraatul mustaqeem/straight path. The derivatives of the root Ha Jeem Jeem as used in the qur'aan all direct towards debating and discussing. We are called to dbate with people, by (and not to) the concepts of the straight path.

Thank you for enlightening us with this new translation/understanding. I totally agree that bait is better translated as home. One question remains would hajjulbait be carried out in one of the ashur alhurrum or can it be done anytime during the year? I know this has been discussed many times before but maybe with this new translation, we can come to a new understanding of the concept.

    Peace,

    Hadi
