in my opinion the verse "O you who have believed," is referring to previous poeple before Islam, ie. it is referring to Christain and Jew who believe/followers of in Esa and Musa.
So the verse is addressing them. Please check all ayats with this verse as starting. I think it is addressing them.
what if 936 goes
936 The count the months with God is twelve months; in the book of God; the day; He created the heavens and the earth; four of them are restricted (inviolable) ......
"four of them are referring" to these four (RED)
We are assuming it is referrring to months but what if it is referring to all four?
How sure are we that 936 is referring to months?
It could also refers to days? or heavan n earth? or referring to all of them?
What does Hurumun means in this context?

The reason I'm asking is that I noticed that most of the timed salat ayats are directed to second person singular, ie towards the Prophet.
So is the ayat directed towards the Prophet applicable to everyone?

To answer my own question, this is what i found on the astronomy page

At the North Pole during summer when there is permanent daylight, does the Moon rise and set, and if not, does that mean that during winter with no sunrise the Moon is always up?
The Moon does rise and and set during both summer and winter on the North Pole (or South Pole). The exact movement is complicated, but can be understood the combination of two separate movements
Rotation of the Earth on its axis, which results in movements that change over the course of one day.
Orbit of the Moon around the earth, which results in movements that change over the course of one lunar month (about 29 days).
While the Moon does rise during the summer at the North Pole, since the Sun is always up, you generally can't see it, so I'll focus on the movement of the Moon during the winter.
The daily movement from Earth's rotation causes the Moon to circle once around the sky. If you spent the entire day staring at it, you'd have to turn around exactly once. This movement is also the same that the Sun makes during the summer. To give you a better idea of how this looks, here is a video showing how the Sun moves in the sky at the North Pole Arctic Midnight Sun
The second movement caused by the Moon's orbit around the Earth is analogous to the movement of the Sun over the course of a year only it repeats over the course of a lunar month. Eventually near the full Moon phase it will be high enough in the sky to stay up all day and circle like the Sun in the video above. But generally if you add weather and cloud cover I think it is generally quite difficult to see the moon during this time?.

Perhaps the common theme is that Jews, Zoroastrians, Christians also had "The Salat" in some form or other...
Qoran, for a very good reason, remains the solid source that can highlight the inconstancies of any research.. However , Qoran can also add the "test" factor that GOD intended in it to sort out the true convictions and motives of GOD s servants.
While one should never give up the search for their"truth", one needs to trust in GOD Alone and see where Qoran takes them with this subject.
Each can only answer individually for their sincerity towards and understanding of GOD s instructions in the message.
For me the "sirat Al Mustaqueem"-straight path - of leading one s life comes first .One should be honest with themselves and only do what they understand best for themselves. Differences in understanding are the norm and GOD is the sole judge .
Why did GOD not clear everything up for everyone to clearly see is obvious FOR THIS LIFE AS HUMANS- for the test-..

Salat consist of 2 main portions or objectives
It is the duty of each and every Muslims which have a contractual obligation to follow closely the commands given by God to us thru the Quran.
To recite and learn the Quran daily (at least) twice a day. The best of time being at dawn and dusk.
Contractual Obligation
Under 15 we said to God that “Unto You we served and unto You we seek help”. So, it is our contractual obligation to follow closely every command that God has given to us as per the Quran and it is our obligation to learn this Quran if we are to follow closely all that has been commanded to us to follow.

But, I feel that before discussing its timing, don't you think that it is better to agree to get the definition, meaning and objectives of Solat first.
Once this is agreed then the discussion of its timing will have meaning.

Would NOT be witnessing.....
From my understanding of this 2 185 there is no starting of ramadhan and no ending of ramadhan b'cos it refers to one person singular, ie the one witnessing the full moon should fast the next one day.
For a person living in northern parts like alaska or northern norway etc their summer month has no setting of the sun so they would witness a full moon. So its not obligatory on them. You have to witness it yourself.
Thats my understanding on 2 185 anyway submitter.
