Those to whom We have given the Book know it is sent down from your Lord with the truth; so do not be of those who have doubt. 6115 And the word of your Lord has been completed with truth and justice; there is no changing His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 6116 And if you obey most of those on the earth they will lead you away from the path of God; that is because they follow conjecture, and that is because they only guess. 316 And from the people, there are those who will purchase a baseless narrative with which to mislead from the path of God without knowledge, and to make it a mockery. These will have a humiliating retribution. 3923 God has sent down the best narrative, a Book that is similar, dual. The skins of those who are concerned towards their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to the remembrance of God. Such is the guidance of God; He guides with it whoever He wills. And for whoever God misguides, then none can guide him. 456 These are the revelations of God, We recite them to you with the truth. So, in which narrative after God and His revelations do they believe? 5234 Let them produce a narrative like this, if they are truthful. 6844 Therefore, let Me deal with those who reject this narrative; We will entice them from where they do not perceive. 6940 This is the utterance of an honorable messenger. 6941 It is not the utterance of a poet; rarely do you believe. 6942 Nor the utterance of a soothsayer; rarely do you take heed. 6943 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 6944 And had he attributed anything falsely to Us. 6945 We would have seized him by the right. 6946 Then, We would have severed his life-line. 6947 None of you would be able to prevent it. 7750 So in what narrative, after it, will they believe? These are just some of the arguments that might be useful in the debate with a sunni or shia. Keep in mind that you must be patient and always grateful to God. Its been some time since I stopped in. BTW, hi all. This incident of the lightning hitting the Jesus statue. It was nature, pure and simple. Attributing anything else can be compared to a tornado hitting a mosque, church, or synagogue. Just because one particular religious item was targeted by nature, this is no reason to start any wild conspiracy theories.

Some people call it an intoxicant ...some people call it a medicine. Seems to me that the people running the show seem to have a twisted idea of what medicine is, tho. I couldn't care less if something is "haram" by their standards or not. That alone was never enough to deem a thing right or wrong.

Sorry uncle....We will mend our ways. I don't know what's wrong with us. I totally understand that there should be some degree of modesty. But our vision or goal (eventhough perhaps never achievable) should be to make modesty a non-subject, it should not exist. If we do that by saying "everything is allowed!" then we are going about it the wrong way. That is not what Allah wants. It has to come from within. If you feel you cannot control YOURself, then walk away or cover up. That way we take away the power of the bikini or tattoo. They cannot be longer used as a tool to attract. That will naturally "force" people into what Allah intended, to see the eachother for who we really are. Many have in previous discussions said that the traditional muslim dress code for women is not entirely correct because Islam is for everybody, what use is there for an eskimo woman to be told to cover up, she is already covered from head to toe. But I have never heard the opposite. What use is it to tell a tribal woman from inner Africa to cover her chest? All we are doing by saying so is to create a modesty problem that never existed in the first place. Tattoos are a good example of a modesty problem that never really existed, but became one when man stamped it as a symbol of immodesty. I am the African tribal woman of tattoos. I come from a society (sailor) where tattoos have never been for the sake of beautification. Tell me the truth, if you see a guy with tattoos you think hmmm...that is a little inappropriate.....but then you found out he is a sailor. Doesn't that kind of rectify his reasons for having tattoos. Are the tattoos on him all that inappropriate still? I don't know where you guys come from, but in cultures where seafaring is a big deal, it has never been immodest for a sailor to have tattoos, just like it is not immodest for tribal women to walk around bare chested.
