Second he argues that Ahmad cannot be Mohammad because Isa son of Mariam was quoted by Allah saying a Messenger after him will come whose name is Ahmad. I disagree, Ahmad is Mohamad as Qur'an is Furqan. Playing with semantics is of no interest to me. Isa son of Mary wouldn't know, we don't even have the Injeel to corroborate & the Injeel was what was revealed to him by Allah. All we know is what was recorded in Qur'an, Qur'an which is explanation for all things "tibyan likulli sha'i'in", there is no more Message to deliver, this is what complete means, no need for another Messenger. However we can get Enforcers, like Cyrus the Great, maybe a future Messiah for Mankind. So I cannot be an echo chamber for anyone who advocates another Messenger after Mohamad, what Message? Qur'an says it is complete, no need for another Message, so no need for another Messenger. This thread was started because of a TV Series what if scenario speculating how current law enforcement & Intel agencies would react to someone appearing claiming to be a Messiah from God. Then I again speculated that nothing in Qur'an invalidates the possibility of a Messiah being again raised for Mankind, in my view that Messiah will be an enforcer, not a messenger, he will reinforce Qur'an. The Quran gives clear instructions which are respected by the sunna -the verse is clear, the face include eyes, nose and mouth and she adds two slice of verses from the Quran telling we must obey Allah and the messenger and conclude "There is the Holy Quran which has been send to us but the prophet shows us how to practice rituals. " she is explaining to us that we should follow the way that is vaguely explained on the Quran and giving up the way that the one thought as if the prophet didn't understand what the Quran encompasses. Of course we have to follow the method applied by the prophet -Look, being Muslim is believing in Allah and his prophet. For examples Those who have rejected after their belief, then increased in rejection, their repentance will not be accepted, they are the strayers. Those who believed, then rejected, then believed, then rejected, then they increased in rejection; God was not to forgive them nor to guide them to the path. But from our point of view as humans, we really don't know whether we are among those in such group (whom God will not forgive). Therefore, as long as our consciousness is there, as long as we realize we are sinful, then seek forgiveness from God. Peace When a student goes to university, they have to pay tuition fees. Many students do this by taking out loans from the student loans company. The professors' salaries are paid with this same money (correct me if I'm wrong). So is it wrong/ haram to be a lecturer or professor considering their income comes from students who take out loans that are charged with interest? On one hand, not all students pay with student loans as some come from more middle class or even wealthy backgrounds. Also, the universities themselves are not the ones charging the interest, it's the student loans company which is a separate entity. “And for their taking interest even though it was forbidden for them, and their wrongful appropriation of other people’s property. We have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment (4 161)” “That which you give as interest to increase the people’s' wealth increases not with God; but that which you give in charity, seeking the goodwill of God, multiplies manifold.” (30 39) As a side question, if on the other hand you are the student who is being charged interest and therefore the one who's being taken advantage of financially, is this forbidden and punishable by God? Or is it just the ones that charge interest and take money who will be punished by God? The underlying words is mutually agreed. As long as both parties agree and respect the agreement that has been made, I think there is no problem. Problems usually arise when there is a default in the payment of debts. Here riba usually takes place. ر ب و = Ra-Ba-Waw = it increased/augmented, the practicing/taking of usury, excess/addition, an addition obtained more than what is supposed to be received, become high/grown up/large/swollen/risen, mount up, to grow/swell, out of breath, panting. rabiyatun - ever-increasing, severe. arba (comp. form) - more numerous, more increased. It's an excess/ addition, or an addition obtained more than what is supposed to be received. This is something beyond what was agreed upon, such as fine/penalty (sometimes it through legal channels and civil courts). God commands the creditor to restructure the debt until the debtor be able to pay back. 2280 If the person is facing insolvency, then you shall wait until he becomes able. And if you relinquish it as a charity <saddaqa> it is better for you if only you knew. And debt remission as sadaqa is a better option if the creditors believe in God and hereafter. It is a common practice in the financial and banking industry today to restructure debt when a default occurs. In some cases, bank interest is written off and principal payments are rescheduled, and sometimes a reduction of the principal amount owed (or discount) , depending on the severity of the debt default. It's not easy for the banking or financial institution to do saddaqa or debt cancellation, since they might be owned by group of people or management with different interests. But I think this is something good. So as long as both party believe in God and here after, The borrower has good will to pay back, and the lender do exactly as 2280, I believe God will show them the way. 2279 And if you will not do this, then be informed of a war from God and His messenger; but if you repent, then you will have back your principal money, you will not be wronged nor will you wrong. Now I did a quick research that ghusl becomes mandatory when -you have sex ( I think we find this in the Quran too ) but they say even if a person didn't have any sex, discharge of sexual fluids through masturbation/wet dreams or any other factor makes ghusl mandatory. So does the Quran actually speaks about sexual intercourse or just sexual fluids ? ..... Can It be possible that ghusl and salah are not even related ? Like ghusl is just Ghusl ( bath ) and even if you haven't yet had a shower after menstruation/sex you can still pray ? Peace Salaam Sania, I think it's not necessary a Ghusl (bath), but something as describe on the verse below, 56 O you who believe, when you rise up for salat, then wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles; and if you have had intercourse, then you shall purify. And if you are ill, or traveling, or you have excreted feces, or you have had sexual contact with the women, and you cannot find water, then you shall select from the clean soil; you shall wipe your faces and your hands with it. God does not want to place any hardship on you, but He wants to purify you and to complete His blessings upon you that you may be thankful. To me ablution and salat are related, since one of my salat form is to read/study Al Quran at the appointed time (4103, 11114, 1778-79) My goal to learn Al Quran during my salat is to get better understanding, however, none can grasp it except those purified. 5677 It is an honorable Qur'an. 5678 In a protected Book. 5679 None can grasp it, except those purified. 5680 A revelation from the Lord of the worlds. So from 56, God said that this ablution is to purify us, 56 .....God does not want to place any hardship on you, but He wants to purify you and to complete His blessings upon you that you may be thankful. Beside the physical purification like ablution, also there's a way to do it spiritually through the sadaqah, 9103 Take from their wealth a sadaqah to sanctify them and purify them with it, and salla upon them; for your salataqa is a tranquility for them; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable. So hopefully by taking these actions we will be able to grasp information from Al Quran. Now I would like to share with you my understanding regarding why we should avoid sexual intercourse and the things related to it when we have intention to study quran. During Ramadhan, God allow us to have sexual intercourse at night, 2187 It has been made permissible for you during the night of fasting to approach your women sexually. They are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. God knew that you used to betray your souls, so He has redeemed you, and forgiven you; now you may approach them and seek what God has written for you. And you may eat and drink until the white thread is distinct from the black thread of dawn; then you shall complete the fast until night; and do not approach them while you are devoted <akifuna> in masjid. These are the boundaries of God, so do not transgress them. It is thus that God clarifies His revelations to the people that they may be righteous. but not when we devoted in Masjid to seek what God has written to us. and during the Hajj, 2197 The Hajj is in the appointed months; so whoever decides to perform Hajj in them, then there shall be no sexual approach, The reason lies in 2196, I have my own translation for that, 2196 And complete hajj and umrah for Allah. And If you are abstain from sexual intercourse <uh'sir'tum>, then it will be easier for the guidance <hadyi> ; and do not disturb your heads until you reach the guidance (to be focus)... So this is why we need to be purified. But having said that, it doesn't mean we should avoid sex forever. This practice of abstaining from sexual intercourse is quite popular among religious people in the past. Higher Taoist practices what they called cultivating male sexual energy. You can read the entire chapter to get the context of this city. But from these passages we know that the city has twelve gates and named as twelve sons of Yakub (Yusuf and his brothers). From another chapter we know that when the time comes only 144.000 will be sealed by the angel, based on the tribes of the children of Israel (minus tribe of Dan). Revelation 7 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Let's get back to the Quran, when Yakub ordered his sons to enter the city, 1267 He then instructed ˹them˺, “O my sons! Do not enter ˹the city˺ all through one gate, but through separate gates. I cannot help you against ˹what is destined by˺ Allah in the least. It is only Allah Who decides. In Him I put my trust. And in Him let the faithful put their trust.” 1268 Then when they entered as their father had instructed them, this did not help them against ˹the Will of˺ Allah whatsoever. It was just a desire in Yakub’s heart which he satisfied. He was truly blessed with ˹great˺ knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most people have no knowledge. So this is a knowledge Allah had taught Yakub regarding the last day, as mentioned in Book of Revelation, long before the Book of Revelation itself was revealed. It was just a desire in Yakub's heart to see his descendant walk through the gates according to their names/tribes name. But Yakub also realized there's no guarantee by doing that. It always depends on their deeds. Allah will decide. To me, the whole Yusuf stories taught me a lot of thing, such as be patience with the God's plan sometime you need an 'external help' like a prison when you cannot avoid the temptation of woman, nowadays it's not necessary a prison, but maybe you will get unsatisfied permanent transfer in your job, move to another city, when you have affair with someone in your office or on your neighborhood. Peace Since it's obvious we messed up in our previous life even if by just making a wrong choice, are we born a clean slate? We recall no past life memories/ experiences, or DO WE? Does our subconscious mind hint at a previous life? Do our dreams hint at past life experiences? Are humans born 'sinless'? If nobody is perfect except God, we are born imperfect (spiritually)? Messed up? Using what criteria? As a set of criteria is required to say "messed up" or "not messed up". Are we born a clean state? Who are "we" that's being referred here? Let's use again a metaphor for easy understanding. The forum avatar Sarah cannot and do not have another avatar. When she was born here, she has no previous post, no 'karma' point. Everything reset to zero. And then let's say the forum admin blocked the account. That might spell the end of Sarah, on this webforum. Does Sarah 'messed up'? It depends using what criteria that you'll use to put such label on "Sarah". Depending on the criteria, you can say she does, you can say she does not. Behind the forum avatar Sarah, there's a human consciousness. Having one of his/her forum avatar 'dead', he/she has some options Doesn't mind about it at all, and move on. Either to another forum or decided not to join other forum at all. Just move away from this web forum, as he/she think that all that she needs from this web forum has already being fulfilled, or he/she just grow sick and tired of this web forum. Rejoin this webforum, due to some reasons, but "Sarah" is unavailable, if he/she wanted to do that he/she need to create another forum avatar. So let's say he/she decided to create a forum avatar named "Abraham" this time around. Abraham will start out from 0, a clean 'slate' as you called it, no karma points, no previous post. So it's not "Sarah" being reborn into this forum, it's "Abraham" now.. albeit behind the avatar is the same consciousness. It's the 'consciousness' that's 'reborn' or better word will be identifying his/herself to be "Abraham" inside this forum, and no longer identifying his/her self as "Sarah". Perhaps the 'consciousness' think that he/she still have things to do / say or learn from this webforum, and would like to take another 'shot' at it. The 'criteria' of whether 'Sarah' messed up (or not) during her active time on this forum is set by the consciousness him/her self. And so does the 'judgement'. That's why the criteria that you use to judge others, will be used also for your own self, by your own self. And if you have no criteria to judge others, you will not be judged as well by your own self.
