Peace Can we as Muslims celebrate Christmas with the intent of celebrating it as a holiday celebration and not because of religious reasons? Can you put up a Christmas tree, give presents on the 25th just because everyone else in the country is doing it too and for fun?

Peace Chapter (27) sūrat l-naml (The Ants) Sahih International And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, that the people were, of Our verses, not certain . Pickthall And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations. Yusuf Ali And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs. Shakir And when the word shall come to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth that shall i wound them, because people did not believe in Our communications. In the last translation it say's wound them instead of the creature speaking to them. Perhaps it's not referring to the virus because some say that viruses are not actually 'alive'. If you think the beast might be something else, what are your views?
  • Is Iddat ( waiting period ) still applies to women now?

The waiting period of women after divorce/death of husband is 3-4 months and i case a woman is pregnant then it is till delivery of the baby. I have heard scholars saying that it was to make sure if the woman was pregnant or not. But this is 21st century and we can easily find about the pregnancy without having to wait for 4 months. So is iddat still applicable to women now ? If yes what are women even required to do ? In my family the women are being locked in a room for 4/9 months. They aren't at all allowed to come out especially if there's a non mehram. They hardly even go out of the house unless it's really important. ( I dont know if it's a sunni practice or not ). What are the dos and donts of iddat ?

This is the Day of Eternity." ' 5034 The question is...why does it say day of eternity? Even multiple translations state the word day too https//quran.com/50/34?translations=17,18,20,22,84,95,101

Erection is achieved when nerve endings release neurotransmitters that cause dilatation of arteries of the penis leading to extra blood flow to the area of penile engorgement. Thus, if the nerve endings are damaged due to some underlying health condition or arteries are clogged, it prevents the penis from erecting resulting in ED. Common medical conditions that may result in ED include diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, nerve disorders, spinal injury, drug or alcohol abuse. Salaam to all. Is buying and selling of shares on sharemarket haraam??. Traditionalists say that Interaday and investment in Non-Islamic industries(eg banks ) is Haraam Some Quran oriented people say buying and selling shares doesnot involve labour(physical/intellectual) and it is mostly a guessing game so it is haraam. I am totally confused, i believe that it is okay to share tradings. Plz give ur inputs Thanx n wasalaam.

Salam, I would like to share with you an article in french that you can find here https//www.academia.edu/37827400/Pour_une_approche_historico-critique_impartiale_des_d%C3%A9buts_de_lislam about Non-Muslim testimony of pilgrimage in the first century after 632. A very good summary of modern researches. An extract with google traduction (so not perfect - sorry) " External historical testimonies on the Hajj pilgrimage -The chronicle of Khuzistan (around 660 CE) The chronicler mentions the "Dome/cupola of Abraham (qwbth d-abrhm)" and notes that the Arabs affirm that Abraham "built this place of the" Dome/cupola" for the worship (SGDT) of God and for the offering of sacrifices." He further adds that they (the Arabs) worship there in honor of Abraham the father and the chief (patriarch) of their people The testimony of Anastasius of Sinai (660-690 CE). This text written in Greek is probably one of the most important testimonies overlooked by researchers, as stated by Dr. Sean Anthony, a contemporary Islamologist at the University of Ohio, Department of Near East Studies. The part that interests us in this writing is the story of a Christian prisoner who was taken captive by the hagarens (Muslims), in the place where those who keep us in slavery "have the stone and the object of their worship ”. Then the captive tells how "they sacrificed countless sheep and camels there." -The testimony of Jacob of Edessa in his fourth letter to John the Stylite (died in 708 CE) In a letter that Jacques of Edessa sent to John the Stylite, It evokes the orientation of the prayer of the Jews and the Muslims. This orientation is described as following roughly, the cardinal points, but with the intention, to aim at the respective sacred places " Your question is futile ... because it is not to the south that the Jews pray, nor indeed the Muslims (Hagarenes). The Jews who live in Egypt, just like the Muslims, as I have seen with my own eyes and will now establish for you, prayed to the East, and still do, all of them - the Jews to Jerusalem and Muslims to the Kaaba. And the Jews who are south of Jerusalem pray north. And those of the land of Babel, in Hira and Basra, pray to the West, and the Muslims who are there (those of Babel) pray to the West, towards the Kaaba. And those who are south of the Kaaba pray north, towards this place. Thus, from what has been said, it is clear that it is not to the south that Jews and Muslims from Syria pray, but to Jerusalem or the Kaaba, the ancestral place of their people ". An Arabic papyrus (86-99 AH / 705-717 CE) from the Oriental Institute of Chicago (17653) Papyrologist Petra Sipesteijs published it in an article entitled “An Early Umayyad PapyrusInvitation for the Hajj” where she described and analyzed a letter from Prince Umayyade Shal Ibn 'Abd al-Aziz which contains an invitation to a certain 'Uqbah Ibn Muslim to participate in the pilgrimage (al-Hajj). Arab graffiti dated 91H / 710 CE It is in the month of Dhul-Qia’da that a certain Makhled Ibn Abi Makhlad wrote a prayer to implore the forgiveness of God and for his pilgrimage to be accepted. The inscription is located near Tabuk in the north of Mecca. "

Salam, Are meteors really missiles thrown at jinns by angels? In Surah Mulk, verse 5, Allah says And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. How do we understand the highlighted phrase? Does it refer to meteorites falling to earth? If yes, since they also fall on other planets, what do we make of their purpose? Thanks.

Slm to all , what a long time bothers me is , did the prophet get his first ayat in the cave?? if yes does Quran this back it up ? cause if i read the Quran it says Exalted (is) the One Who took His servant (by) night from Al-Masjid Al-Haraam, to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa which We blessed its surroundings, that We may show of Our Signs. Indeed He, He (is) the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. https//www.islamawakened.com/quran/17/1/ was this the first sign ? but then again second ayat is talking to Musa ?? And We gave Musa the Book, and made it a guidance for the Children (of) Israel, "That not you take other than Me (as) a Disposer of affairs." https//www.islamawakened.com/quran/17/2/

The scripture of the Holy Quran is the only source of guidance for Muslims. It is a complete scripture discussing all major subjects of life&afterlife, human purpose& progress, the stories of prophets, previous nations, signs of the hour, the unseen, scientific inspirations, the creation earth&mankind and never changing prohibitions. There are many unseen (ghaybiyat) prophecies about the present and the future in what are called ahadith nabawiya. The prophet Muhammad does not know the unseen and never spoke of these prophesies and tales as conveyed by Allah's holy scripture where Allah commands the prophet to say he does not know the unseen except what is revealed to him through the revelation to which is documented in the scripture. 469 Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me and I am not but a clear warner." (Surah alahqaaf ayah 9). 650 Say, , "I do not tell you that I have the depositories of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Then will you not give thought?" (Surah al an'am ayah 50). 7188 Say, "I hold not for myself benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe". (Surah al ara'f ayah 18. 1131 "And I do not tell you that I have the depositories of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel, nor do I say of those upon whom your eyes look down that Allah will never grant them any good. Allah is most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be among the wrongdoers." (Surah hud ayah 31) 1149 "That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, . You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the outcome is for the righteous . (Surah hud ayah 49). These ayat have been revealed by allah to show us that the messenger of god does not know the unseen. The only unseen prophesies that should be believed in are the ones in the holy scripture of Allah. Therefore all the hadiths concerning the unseen, the grave, the mehdi & antichrist and dajjal are false and have no legitimacy in the holy quran. These isrealite tales and futuristic prophesies have come from cultures prior to the revelation of the quran. They entered the islamic tradition through hadiths collected decades after the passing of the prophet.

MARTYRDOM & INFLUENCE OF CHRISTIANITY Martyrdom is a term that has no place in the holy quran contrary to what people think. This is a term that has entered the islamic tradition through muslim scholars that have interchanged thought and read religious texts and stories of christian saints and they're death as well as christian traditions. There is no word in the arabic language or any word used in the quran that defines a person who has died for they're beliefs through a specific word or term. Some scholars have borrowed the word shaheed/shahid as a term to legitimise the word Martyr in islamic tradition. Shaheed/shahid is one of Allah's 99 names/characteristics and when ever it is used in the holy scripture it has nothing to do with death or a person dieing. Shaheed/shahid is a person that is alive and a witness to something in everyday situations. These are examples of the use of the word shaheed in the holy quran. 'And the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a WITNESS over them from themselves. And We will bring you, , as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims'. ( Al-Nahl aya 89) 1689 Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while Allah is WITNESS over what you do? (Al -Imran aya 9 398 Say, "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, " Allah is WITNESS between me and you. And this Qur'an was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby and whomever it reaches. Do you testify that with Allah there are other deities?" Say, "I will not testify ." Say, "Indeed, He is but one God, and indeed, I am free of what you associate . (Al-An'am aya 19) 619 More examples in the following ayat 2278 4159 3547 5021 2143 1684 PLEASE people need to STOP using the word shaheed as martyr when someone dies, it is mentioned in the quran 160 times and no death is involved. This is a insulting word to use and manipulate its meaning to mean something that it is not.
