I have been denying the fact that Muslims are behind other nations by trying to justify their condition using colonization as an excuse. Lately, I have come to think that something is wrong with muslim mind. I need a better understanding on the reasons of muslim backwardness. It's hard for societies to advance when they've been bombed to smithereens for the worst part of a century.

3953 Say "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah for Allah forgives all sins for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. I think you probably have to just repent, and from experience just accept it, and dont let you feeling sorry for yourself stop you from turning to God, i find when i have been in situations where i have felt the same, It was my ego that stopped me turning to God, dont let satan avert you from repentance. God is Most forgiving Most merciful

We differ on our belief and understanding. That is also God s system ,He chooses what to create. GOD bless you. Peace. Correct and it's normal. And so does you and Jesus for that matter.. Jesus didn't believed in the "Book titled Quran cannonized by Othman 600 years after his demise" too! Or neither he believed in the "Non Fallacious Nature or Divine Nature" of a set of book titled "New Testament". Or neither he ever goes to Church or Mosque. Again how does it matter? It's the deed that matter.. What Jesus (and also his cousin John) did was amazing.. They do good deeds, They "fought" the powerful organized religion of his time, which is THEIR OWN religion. And they paid dearly for such deed. John was beheaded and Jesus was crucified. The "Books Of Gospel" is one of the most anti-religious book that ever written. Oddly it become one of the most popular "religious book" of all time too.. PS Why nobody ever hoped that "John will return"?

Quran 3437 And it is not your money or your children that will bring you closer to Us, but only those who believe and do good work, they will receive double the reward for their works, and they will reside in the high dwellings in peace. Quran 999 And from the Nomads are those who believe in God and the Last Day, and he looks upon what he spends to make him closer to God, and the contact prayers of the messenger. It indeed makes them closer. God will admit them in His mercy; God is Forgiving, Merciful. Peace I want to use the example verses from Taro, as well as Logic. From my current understanding these verses are mere reflections of what ultimately answers Taro's question. 2868 Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases no choice have they (in the matter) Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)! In other words, there is NOTHING you can do on your own that will bring you closer to God, let alone, become open to His guidance and walk according to his covenant law. The partners they ascribe are themselves. The "prayers" and "good works" cannot manifest unless God has bestowed His grace upon you, therefore there is nothing you did to earn His mercy. Which gives all credit to God alone, and none to ourselves. 7630 But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. This verse completely destroys the understanding of "Free Will" - having a choice (will) independently from God's. That is why He is the controller of ALL things. God willing, May He guide us to His knowledge and wisdom.

Every quranist I ever met still adheres to either one or more of these doctrines which are only supported by hadith The prophethood of Muhammad The night journey The historicity of Mecca The change of qibla The Uthmanic codex as authentic and of divine origin The protected, never manipulated Quran The hijra from Mecca to Medina The Hejaz as region of origin of the Quraysh The existence and usage of "Islam and Muslim" as denominators before 720 Revelation by Gabriel to Muhammad The list is probably longer but these are the major themes. i see what you mean they are connecting things that are not there, the quran is given in parables so it relates to every event ever not just these events (parables as in similitudes)

Then I found out about Sanaa palimpsest manuscripts which show unequivocal archeological evidence of tampering of verses of al-quran soon after death of Muhammad. This confirmed my suspicions about some verses of al-quran; that al-quran might not be 100% infallible word of allah in its entirety, and might contain some falsehoods! https//en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sana%27a_manuscript http//www.islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Text/Mss/soth.html http//www.answering-islam.org/authors/oskar/palimpsest.html http//www.islam-watch.org/home/78-sujit/46-earliest-quranic-manuscripts-of-sanaa-downfall-of-islam.html Sana manuscripts look more like the work of some terrible author. Probable traits Irresponsible, dominating, overconfident, but not the most religious person. "Since my boss is overly dependent on me, I should decide how to arrange Quran" "Okay, lets keep it this way because it looks nicer than the original one" "Oops, I made some mistakes here and there in the verses". It would be extremely difficult to release a Quran with verses changed because the book is way too easy to memorize. Addition of new lines would also be pretty impossible because of the fact that Quran is a binary symmetric book. Can this be debunked? http//www.symmetricbook.com/subject1.pdf Was there variation in earliest texts? Yes, but it seems the work to fully restore the original took place in the 70's. PM Wakas for the link of this info. I am having difficulty finding the thread in which he posted it. I remember there were still strong debates going on between the 19 enthusiasts and also people of a more traditional background, there were one or two Atheists/Anti-Muslims who are always there to annoy posters and generally stir up more debate and also those putting forward the idea that certain words have drastically different meaning to what is understood traditionally which only served to stir up more of a furore! All of this contributed to making Free-Minds a very vibrant place. What became of it all? I did have some debates with the sectarians and anti Muslim ones. It seems that they leave much quicker now. Those "drastically diff meanings" like how Allah doesn't forbid physical relationships before marriage are still quite common. Its kinda fun to read the explanations

Yes and no. I am happy that God has blessed with many thanks, but at the same time, I feel that I have not done enough to express my gratitude to Him. Knowing that I live with a purpose. When I volunteer or donate blood, I am very happy that there is something that I can give. Being able to do good, and being in a company of others

I have noticed that God has established peace and security in those countries which have complete freedom of religion. And then there is insecurity in countries or areas in which there is less religious freedoms. What do you think? Absolutely Mike, and lets not forget those cursed evil people in Haiti - deserved everything they got if you ask me

Why did Abraham smash the pagan idols, when this verse states... 6108 Do not insult those whom they invoke other than God, lest they insult God without knowledge. We have similarly adorned for every nation their works; then to their Lord is their return and He will inform them of what they had done. Peace. the same reason there is a verse stating touch not life ALLAH has created sacred except for just cause and surah 9 verse 12. the idea of idols is like playing with a barbie doll you buy barbie a house and a car then you find a ken doll and after your done maing a little collage of barbie in a box (shrine) then you show people what you have created and the story they need to believe to understand your artistic intention, but yes abraham was in the wrong when he did that and he was punished by law , thrown into a furnace. he first broke ALLAH's command in that verse, then ALLAH allowed him to taste the evils of what his hands sent forth. interesting surah al kahf example, when the messenger travelling with moses killed a kid who had not killed anyone before. moses said this a vile unheard-of thing but once again surah 9 verse 12 justifies his actions also another verse stating it was not you who slayed them it was ALLAH. .... i'm glad you look at the quran in this light, read on it's refreshing. also don't insult, but most of us would pick a fight for less, if you insult them your guiding them and reassuring their doubts about their idols and if you god is made out of clay then YES YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME SERIOUS DOUBTS!!!!! ALLAH's wish is to deprive the unbelievers of all blessing so why bless them with guides "such as your doning it wrong!" leave them in their straying path. i personally think the less people in a place the better so, the same about the garden of abode.

Peace all, Accurate (meaning mentioning a certain time and giving a clear cut prediction, not necessarily true) predictions and prophecies are the HALLMARK of negative channelings from the negative higher density entities. The negative higher density entities channel negative messages of truth mixed with falsehood to further their agenda of control of humans through fear, greed, power, materialism, selfishness, and establishment of a hierarchical structure of human society in line with their service to self path, and to lend credence to their negative channelings they also include accurate predictions and prophecies in their channelings which are not necessarily true. This is how they have deceptively polluted and corrupted all the original positive channelings from the positive higher density entities like Gabriel (positive 6th density) of the law of one, law of free will, love, light, service to others and a horizontal non-hierarchical social structure to Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad etc. Following is an interesting chapter in a book which explains how to differentiate a negative from a positive channeling. I highly recommend reading the full book at this link http//areyouseekingthelight.com/ Some excerpts Following is the introduction to the book http//areyouseekingthelight.com/introduction.html Please feel free to discard whatever does not resonate with you, in accordance with the law of free will. Peace high density as in "sinkers" things sinking into hell? odd question are there any prophecies, ayat, or hadith that support this in other than humans and jinns?

no no you got me wrong nothing was created seperately from the universe because they are within the universe and made from the universe, like look at the periodic table, there are a buch of elements and look at this picture http//images.designntrend.com/data/images/full/11551/milky-way.jpg the colors are from noble gases, and they are projected on metals and such in a place like space there is no gravity things free float so the only force acting on any object is electron based, (different element bonds) these bonds are happening while electrons are whirling around the atom so you end up with swirls like these galaxies. i believe they are hydrogen based or the heaveist atom is it's core, so after a few days and hours in the sight of ALLAH, the atoms get pulled in while pulling in their bonding atomic buddies (other atoms) it's no coincides that the human race also starts with a man named adam (ad-'em, lol). soon these elements will come together like one of those grow your own crystals in water craft projects you can buy in an arts and crafts store. anything including you is made from these particles and atoms, even you amazement (which is chemical) and you sense for there being a god in the universe (which is also chemical... certian chemicals will distort your mind like alcohol or hard drugs, things that are addictive usually). the fact that you can read is chemical your eyes are not just eyes they are compounds of atoms like alcohol and water are compounds of atoms. this may mess you up and you think there is no god but.... god created this it's called the physical plane all things are subject to the laws of physics and all things are made of atoms. there are no miracles angels are made from light and such. one rule of law is everything must have physical existence this is a fact of life even your dreams have physical existence like the buzz from smoking weed or cigarettes, they are experienced chemicals from an object that is...vegetative like a man in a coma or a deep sleep would have a dream. ..... sorry i'm so off subject but put is this way rules first experience second, justice is law goodness is experience. i hope this answers your question without the rules stars would not be pretty at night and the moon would not have it's glow or lack of it at times

Peace Fusion, One of the problems with this view is being androcentric. Why can't women do the same to fulfill their lust and desire of flesh? Why not polyandry? This androcentricity, misogyny and polygyny is one of the things that bothers me in the current text of al-quran. Additionally inheritance share, testimony, only male prophethood etc. Monogamy is the only thing that makes sense, or if polygyny is allowed in exceptional circumstances then polyandry should also be allowed in exceptional circumstances. I can exercise control and practice abstinence when necessary, and even if I traveled to Mars and had a mate back on Earth, I won't commit "muta" with a fellow traveler to Mars. A spiritually advanced prophet with no self control? Unable to tame the fleshly beast? ??? Peace

If you find this interesting do some research on what happened in Somalia, convert the Southerners to Christianity, create a divide and then split the country in two.

Salaam Taro, You are right that some words have changed in meaning in modern times, however, they aren't as many as you seem to think. One must learn MSA if they are going to try to understand the Quran, or if they learn Classical then they are already learning MSA. For example, I recently got into an argument with my aunt. We were in a discussion, and she interrupted me and asked me about a word I used. I told her the meaning of the word, and she disagreed. I told her 'no, really, that's what it means.' Her response was, 'impossible! If it was a proper word it would be in the Quran!' So many people still refer to the Quran as a primary source for language, and many MSA dictionaries quote Quranic verses when explaining meanings of words. Secondly, regarding the article from astudyofquran.org, I totally disagree with the author that Allah is a proper name. It isn't. Allah means 'the God'. A proper name is like John, Mike, or Bilal. First of all, pre-Islamic pre-Arabian people and prophets did not use the term "Allah". They had their own names for God. I doubt that Joseph and others used a word from a future language. The user DrAyman once provided a very good example of why it isn't a proper name And he is the god in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your hidden and your revealed, and what you earn. Taking the word ?allah? in 63 as a proper name without translation makes the passage ungrammatical and reduces it to nonsense. It is as absurd as saying ?he is John of the house? as opposed to ?he is the man of the house?.

Peace Wakas, Thank you for your post. In my view, Ziauddin Sardar's book is not the best book about quran-oriented islam. And I think that there are several books about islam that are much better than his book. That being said, I still think that "Reading the Quran" is one of the best books about islam (from a quranic perspective). And the reason why I think it is one of the best books about quran-oriented islam, is because the author of the book has used a rational and evidence-based approach to the principles, laws and teachings of the quran. The author of the book has used several methods; from traditional exegesis to hermeneutics, critical theory and cultural analysis to draw contemporary lessons from the scripture on a wide range of topics. And I think that is impressive. I agree that Toshihiko Izutzu's works are good. And I think that Toshihiko Izutzu's book "God and Man in the Quran" is better than Ziauddin Sardar's book. Because Toshihiko Izutzu seems to let the quran explain itself (to a high degree) in his book. And because his analysis focuses on the meaning of quranic words according to their usage in the quran's original language. In some places in the book "Reading the Quran", the author of the book seems to add a lot of his own opinions to the sacred text. If he had let "the quran explain itself" to a higher degree and had mainly focused on the meaning of the quranic words according to their usage in quran's original language, then I think that his book would have been better than it already is. I have tried to find "Reading the Quran" on the internet. But no one seems to have scanned and uploaded the book yet. I think that it would be good if this book was available for free on the internet. Because then it would reach a much wider audience. By the way, thank you for mentioning/recommending the book "Discovering Qur'an" by Neal Robinson. I will take a look at it in the future.

The UK is treated internationally as a functioning country on official terms - I think. Remember , England , wales , Northern ireland aren't in the UN, EU , OLYMPICS ........ Dubai ..and all them other countries are there.. look again peace Stop thinking and you might actually get somewhere worthwhile.
