I differentiate between sectarianism and religion. Religion per definition is probably from the word RELY 1100-1200 Latin religio, probably from religare; RELY Source Longman Advanced American Dictionary Religion means simply what you rely upon in your life. Then after that it depends on what you make of it, if you do like sectarians and radicalize yourself. At that point you can say what kind of concept you make of the God phenomenon. The God phenomenon makes some people lunatics, particularly when they turn the faith into clear worship and a strictly separate god that requires a lot of obeisance, which is just what the primitive human mind wants to make of it. Thank you Wakas, I am refering to all the key words (such as mushrik, kafir, jeumu-din, jeumu-qiyame, salat, zekat, fahisha, mulk, kibla, mesdzid, sejda, rukyu....I am sorry about bad transliteration) not being what we used to believe. I still do not know what they do mean, unfortunately (having some ideas). That's why I think this needs to be approached systematicaly to reveal the true meaning of the Book. As for "MA" I don't understand in all those ayats such as 232, 33, 63, 66, 68..etc. MA means NO? I know that in the mainstream traslantions MA can mean both "no" and "what" and I found that very odd. But I would assume it is more "what" all the time then "NO"? But if your work differs to the current translations in such extremes it could be that it works. Right now it doesn't make sense. Salam Taro, My opinion on the Ahmaddiyans has softened slightly, I still believe any extension on the finality of the prophet Muhammed to be a rather dark subject, and honestly believe his lack of surviving male offspring to be a testament to this finality. There are good traits among the Ahmaddiyans, they are hard working and they are charitable. But, they cling to their Caliph like he is a God, and while I can respect their deeds as individuals, I can't take any of their theological beliefs seriously, even when it agrees with my own. Its the same with the Islamic State; I'm sure there are some very good brothers and sisters currently living in the territory of the Islamic State, and may even be doing some good deeds under its banner, but this doesn't wash the taint of their patronage and similarly, I wouldn't take any theological issues from Islamic state and its Caliph any more seriously than I would the Ahmaddiyans and their Caliph.

In the Quran you will find many examples of prophets/messengers making dua/prayer, and upholding the salat/bond, and of course they did not use Arabic. When it comes to salat one must know what one is saying, thus if you know Arabic then use Arabic.

do you guys believe prophet isa is coming back to earth please support you answers with quranic reference, since I muself am confused about this. However I dont believe that there would be a dajhal and an imam mahdi since there are no quranic reference to them. But when it cones to the return of prophet isa there are quranic reference. For example We know that Prophet Isa said to his people "....the day I live and the day I shall die and the the day I shall be raised alive."(sorry I could not provide exact surah but I hope you recall this verse). We knew when jesus when teaching in Israel some people wanted to crucify him and God raised him alive. And also somewhere in the Quran it is said that Jesus is the sign of the hour. So if you think I am wrong please feel free to refute me since I have seen people claiming that he was actually dead when he was raised and that part where it was said about putting him to sleep was actualy a mistranslation and it actualy means cause him to die. due to these conflicting information I dont know which one to believe. Take a look at Qur'an Chapter 21 verses 7 and 8 "And We did not send before you except men whom We inspired to. So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know. And We did not make for them bodies that do not need to eat, nor were they immortal." There will be no second coming of Jesus or a coming of the Mahdi brother. Prophethood has ended, the Message of God has been delivered.. it is our duty to read it (the Qur'an), study every word of it regularly and adapt it into our lives, without wanting to have special saviors. We should all be a 'mahdi' ourselves and reject all evil in this world and help each other.. God should be sufficient for us. Qur'an 3936 "Is God not enough for His servant? Peace runninglikezebras The research on the Sanaa psalimpsests is still ongoing. I often feel there is no point in debating this a lot. The majority here is convinced the Quran is some divine scripture, sent down from heaven by an angel. Rational arguments often fail to convince those who have taken that leap of faith. But how can you have so much faith in something that isn?t finished. In my eyes it look like speculation. Or they failed to reconstruct correct. Dont you find it peculiarly that its so hard to find even a small thing to point at the Quran. And nobody had come up with something so far.

I already use Quran study tools, much of the ones you mentioned, however that is not the focus of my Post. I had a breif look at some of those Quran translations, Quran as it explains itself is the most rediculous thing ive ever seen.. you dont need two whole pages to sum up the opener. it literally explains itself, that is more like 'the Quran as someone else explains it' some of the others are quite similar. But hey each to their own. and @sushi1992 'People can read it outloud to you and even their voice or tone can subconsciously give you a completely different interpretation to one where you read it yourself' I agree with you completely there. The Recitations i have seen so far in english are either Robot like, or just not good enough like the RK translation. I think i will still look into recording my own using a decent translation. I do believe that the Quran in the form of an English recitation is another usefull media for spreading the message. I also find with myself its helpfull, because i just listen to it when i am not particularly busy, on random and sometimes it is helpful in that it brings to mind verses which i may otherwise have forgotten about or missed when Reading the book

Peace Suzan and everyone else, So I was re-reading chapter 76, and it occurred to me that there are many detailed descriptions of what to expect when paradise is achieved I.e. green silky garments, necklaces of silver, fruit hanging low. I've always taken paradise to be a blissful form where your conscience is in an enlightened state of absolute peace. Question is are there really going to be fruits and youths/children scattered like pearls and dressed in green gargarments and smells of musk or tastes of ginger etc? Or is it all allegorical in order for us to capture the bliss and beauty of being in that heightened state? I've always interpreted it as allegorical, but it will be interesting to know how others take it. Let me share my some of my thoughts in regards to the Quranic teachings about paradise. The Quran seems to suggest that paradise is allegorical. Because the Quran suggests that a new earth will be created in the next life. Also, the Quran seems to suggest that humans (our bodies) will be created anew. The Quran seems to suggest that the bodies of human beings will be created anew Quran 1799 Are they, then, not aware that God, who has created the heavens and the earth, has the power to create them anew in their own likeness, having, beyond any doubt, set a term for their resurrection? However, all evildoers are unwilling to accept anything but blasphemy! Quran 3210 And they said "When we are buried in the ground, will we be created anew?" Indeed, they reject the meeting of their Lord. Quran 347 And those who rejected said "Shall we lead you to a man who will tell you that after you are dismembered you will be created anew?" Quran 3681-82 Is, then, He who has created the heavens and the earth not able to create the like of those ? Yea, indeed - for He alone is the all-knowing Crea?tor His Being alone is such that when He wills a thing to be, He but says unto it, "Be and it is. Quran 4633 ARE, THEN, they not aware that God, who has created the heavens and the earth and never been wearied by their creation, has the power to bring the dead back to life? Yea, verily, He has the power to will anything! Quran 753-5 Does man think that We cannot bring his bones together again? Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him. Quran 7910-12 some say,"What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state even though we may have become crumbling bones?" they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss! The Quran seems to suggests that a new earth will be created and will be inherited by the faithful/true servants of the creator Quran 1448 on the Day when the earth shall be changed into another earth, as shall be the heavens and when shall appear before God, the One who holds absolute sway over all that exists. Quran 21104 On that Day We shall roll up the skies as written scrolls are rolled up; as We brought into being the first creation, so We shall bring it forth anew a promise which We have willed upon Our?selves for, behold, We are able to do ! Quran 21105-106 AND, INDEED, after having exhorted , We laid it down in all the books of divine wisdom that My righteous servants shall inherit the earth herein, behold, there is a message for people who worship God. To conclude, the Quran seems to suggest that paradise is allegorical. Paradise seems to be "the next life." And it seems that the God's plan is to create a new earth and create human beings anew in the next life.

Let's say there's this Muslim, who is the top surgeon in the world and has won a Noble prize. He has contributed to science, saved countless lives, and is a philanthropist. He is humble, kind, and well-liked. Everyone would say that he's the best person they've ever met and would have absolutely nothing bad to say about him. But every morning before going to work, he would bow down to a tree outside his house, praying that his day would go well. This little ritual doesn't actually affect his day and nobody else knows about it. Is what he's doing 'shirk'? If yes, then would all his work, his entire contributions to mankind, suddenly become nothing? All of it? How and why does it all become null and void when his ritual doesn't affect his day or his past contributions? How and why does bowing down to or praying to a tree cancel someone's entire work in life? If the man you're talking about would have studied the Qur'an, he would understand that the Qur'an teaches us that God is enough (3936) and all power and everything in the heavens and the earth (including that specific tree) belong to Him and are His creations and that His Throne encompasses everything (2255), and that God hears him wherever he is and is always close to us (2186). So he should be aware of the fact that bowing to some tree has nothing to do with Islam and is just superstition. SHIRK teaches us that God is not enough and that we need other protectors, masters, maulas, hazrats, helpers, intercessors, holy objects, et cetera. Qur'an 448 "God does not forgive that partners be set up with Him, and He forgives other than that for whom He pleases. Whoever sets up partners with God has indeed invented a great sin." A true muslim should focus his faith, his prayer, his ibadah to God alone. Qur'an 6162 "Say "My Salat/contact prayer, and my rites, and my life, and my death, are all to God-Lord of the worlds." Qur'an 2115 "And to God belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn, there is the face of God. God is Encompassing, Knowledgeable." Qur'an 2177 "Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but pious is one who believes in God and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Book, and the prophets, and who gives money out of love to the relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves; and who upholds the contact prayer, and who contributes towards purification; and those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of adversity and hardship and when in despair. These are the ones who have been truthful, and these are the righteous." The Qur'an teaches me to leave all superstitions and man-made rituals and to become a rational monotheist. God is closer to us than our jugular vein (verse 5016), so does he really need a tree to reach Him? He should focus on God alone. "Nothing should stand between you and God. No imams, priests, rabbis or any other custodians of moral or religious leadership. Not spiritual masters and not even your faith. Believe in your values and your rules, but never lord them over others. If you keep breaking other people?s hearts, whatever religious duty you perform is no good. Stay away from all sorts of idolatry, for they will blur your vision. Let God and only God be your guide. This is an interesting Subject, I do believe that Rashad Khalifa was a messenger of God, despite flaws in his work, he was after all evidently human. In regards to the Age of fourty I do think that there must be some form of cut-off and why not 40? I guess i am not entirely sure. However i am not nessesarily opposed to it

Because otherwise you wouldn't know how to pray 5 times a day." He also claims that there was no Quran-alone movement in pre-modern Islam. While I think he makes a logical contradiction here by claiming that you need the Prophet's teachings to follow the Quran, this forum is actually a good example about the fact that we cannot get any significant number of people to agree on how to pray according to the Quran alone. So I had a meal today which contained octopus. The chef was telling me how it is stabbed through the brain. Now I'm thinking, I know 596 says we can eat all creatures of the sea, but wouldn't stabbing through the head come under a forbidden condition in 53? I can't say I like the idea of something being stabbed through the brain but my question is does God actually allow sea creatures killed in this fashion to be eaten. Peace Osman, Ok agreed there were divine revelations inspired to Muhammad other than the current text of al-quran, as proven by al-quran itself. This doesn't mean that the unverifiable hearsay collection of "hadith" falsely attributed to Muhammad and written hundreds of years after his death are those revelations. That would be a logical fallacy. The teacher A gave the student B a lecture which wasn't recorded by A or B. This book written by C contains that lecture as claimed by C. Therefore the lecture contained in this book is the one given by A to B. THIS IS A LOGICAL FALLACY. The same al-quran which proves the existence of revelation outside al-quran has this to say about "hadith" clearly and directly. If BZ uses al-quran's signs to prove revelation outside al-quran, then he has to accept these signs from the same al-quran about "hadith" 7185 Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that allah has created? Perhaps their time is drawing near; so in which HADITH after this one will they believe? 456 These are the revelations of allah, we recite them to you with the truth.
