All translations are imperfect but I like Muhsammad Asad's the best, and I usually use this online tool http//quranix.org/1 And www.studyquran.org tools to research a translation.

I was happy to find this thread researched and started by a moderator. The thread is the most important since http//www.haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/003.%20Aale%20Imran/temp09%203.133.gif http//www.haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/003.%20Aale%20Imran/temp09%203.133a.gif And you people hasten emulously aiming at seeking protection and forgiveness which is conditionally ensured through the Elevated Messenger to you as promise from your Sustainer Lord, and towards the Paradise. Her capaciousness-width is that of the Skies and the Earth. The Paradise is prepared exclusively for those who sincerely endeavour to attain salvation. It stems from Root . Ibn Faris stated in his famous lexicon . . That it leads to the perception of fending off - warding off from something else; to defend, to guard oneself. Property by means of which one guards oneself. The irreducible feature of this Root is protection - safeguarding of somebody or something - something that prevents somebody or something from harm or damage. It can be transcribed by English noun "salvation - deliverance - preservation" which signifies act of saving of somebody from harm, destruction, difficulty or failure. All words stemming from a Root share the basic semantic feature. The concept denoted by English noun and verb "fear" or "awe" is not the component of semantic domain of this Root. Grand Qur'aan is itself the best lexicon for all its important words and terms. It renders the meanings of its important words explicit by using it with such collocates that leave no ambiguity for the reader to comprehend the semantics of text. Contd Paradise is for those who sincerely endeavour for salvation

The living part in us is not"ruh" but "nafs" as per Quran. 660-61 do not mention the word "Ruh" in it. Translation quoted by you is not as per original Arabic text. (&#65279 ( The verses from 1782 to 1786 are talking about revelation so AL-Ruh here is referring to revelation and not to spirit or soul as understood in English language. We do not go anywhere but our consciousness is taken away. Physical body is still there with all the organs functioning and live. Peace ... and ruh ruh to you too! elektro

Win me over? Not spending time? I am not going to force you to believe in the Injeel, and the Quran when it tells you to believe in the Injeel and uphold it. You will face yourself at a day, and remember, that it was you who were saying that the Injeel is corrupted and not with us today, hopefully you will repent on that day and be like Paul ! Why i believe in the Injeel and Zabur and Tawrat, read the Quran, 2285, 33, 4136, 543, 547, 568, 2946, etc. 543 is proof that the Tora was there when the Quran was being Revealed. 547 is proof that the Injeel was there when the Quran was being Revealed. 568 is proof that, all, we, the people of the Book, should uphold the Tora and Injeel, since they are the bases of our Deen in this age, and of course the Quran, and all other Revelations from God sent to the Prophets. You are just using your mouth, and lies. You have not 1 single Quranic verse to back up this false and evil ideology which you still are borrowing from the sects. If you started leaving the Sunni sect, then also start leaving these evil things they say about the Previous Revelations. They say it, so that you will not read the Whole Truth. That way, they can Mix Part of the Truth with part of lies and evil. Injil, tswrat an zabur are not synonime of Bible. They are exactly injil , tawrat and Zsbur, not the bible. Get as angre as you like and go around calling people names. That won't change facts. Take it easy, read carefully and you will get wiser. Salaam

Peace, this is absolutely out of topic but... Many say it is Greek and do not do their research because they do not know and do not want to learn a word of Greek. Paul is originally Greek, only a bad translator like him would have made such grammar mistakes and still get into the Gospel canon rotfl Does that mean that it is Greek? Just because many say it? Obviously many of the greek words are an attempt to translate from other languages, that is obvious. That does not mean the Greek you have is a translation in whole. Have you ever heard of neologisms? I can tell you that the Greek texts, because there is not 1 majority of Greek texts, but many different ones, are a translation of the Original Aramaic text. You can say whatever you want, other thing is if you can prove it Look at the Aramaic text, there is 1 majority. You have the "original" aramaic text and the whole world is searching for it since ancient times? hypno Look at the Greek text, there are many differences, Nestle Aland, Westcott and Hort, Texstus Receptus, Alexandrian text, Antioch text, Byzantine text etc. They are still changing the Greek text up to today. If its Originaly Greek, then why would they need to change it? No, because the Greek is a translation of the Aramaic. there is not any original, but hundreds of versions just because Jesus never wrote himself so everything is third party accounts about his supposed existence. That leads to necessary text reconstruction and many versions in many languages. Whatever you find in whatever language you find it is not any original becase, simply, everything are accounts of supposed witnesses. People spoke Greek in that time, but it is not the mother language of the Jews and Christians. Greek was a language of the Western people.. brickwall Even runninglikezebras would agree with me Alexander the Great with all the Ptolomaioi must be twisting in their tombs alltogether with the West Roman Empire! Even history is clear about it, i am not a fan of history, because many maniplated it. But in that time they spoke Aramaic in that region. In the West they spoke Greek. I suggest that if you are not a fan, at least stop making claims when you have no idea. Anyways, i believe that the Greek is a translation of the Aramaic. Where is the Hebrew Gospel, or are you just saying such things without any evidence? I did not see a Hebrew Gospel in my life, except a translation of the Aramaic one done recently.. Come one, lets not say such things without any solid believe and evidence. Its Aramaic. I have done my research and tested my believe. Which original? There is no original, there are hundreds of (very different by the way) accounts in many languages about the odyssey of some Jesus from Nazaret who never wrote a single word neither intented to. What original then? Please researc further. in any case I am not suggesting aramaic is not the original language, only there is not an original aramaic text I suggest this moves to another topic, it is absolutely spoiling a good topic peace

Now let us rearrange it according to current and simple syntactic rules, where subject first is followed by predicate and other components of the sentence. Better to first learn about the parts of speech and morphology. Syntax is not what you have done.

Bender, very nicely observed indeed! I have a Warsh edition. Unfortunately it is a downloaded copy which I printed and had bound. It is not printed and bound by a Muslim printing publisher, and you just wont believe how Muslims just do not believe that my copy is also authentic. I sat with an Imaam and he completely refuses to accept that what I have is a Quran used in North Africa. I need a Warsh edition printed by a Muslim publisher. if you can help me, please let me know. )

Well i choose to follow Allah/God teaching and hoping to be a good person and do not want to break his rules because it will cause severe problems for not only me but everyone else that is near me or a big scale problem (it depends on what crime and how big it will effect. Exactly, so Submission means, at least in my understanding, going against animal instincts and selfish desires, which often lead to evil things. But most humans won't follow, I like the way Sam Gerrans provides his opinion on the nature of salvation in the Quran and how most people won't follow the word of God https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=31eCy3oiypk

@Aries 3352 No women are lawful to you beyond this, nor that you change them for other wives, even though you may be attracted by their beauty, except those to whom you are committed by oaths. God is watchful over all things. Its about people, it looks pretty clear Peace, no, nope not "pretty" clear a lot if you think deeper

"..WHATEVER THE MESSENGER GIVES YOU TAKE IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU, REFRAIN FORM IT" (597) That's referring to his role in distributing spoils of war among the people 597 Whatever God bestowed upon His messenger from the people of the towns, then it shall be to God and His messenger, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor, and the wayfarer. Thus, it will not remain monopolized by the rich among you. And you may take what the messenger gives you, but do not take what he prohibits you from taking. And be aware of God, for God is mighty in retribution.

Peace, I feel that The Book does not tell us everything, but it might tell us what need to know, guiding principles for reasoning. I agree with a view that The Book was sent by God and The World is created by God, hence if there is conflict between them, it is our understanding that we need to check. Let us move on to Hell. Say hell burns, and we know burn causes pain. But which part of our body is responsible for sensing the pain?Brain? Neurons? Maybe the physical matter/cells/molecules/atoms we are made of us do not necessarily sense the pain. A person who just died, would not sense the pain it he/she is incinerated. It led me to believe that there is more than what we can see and feel to our creation. That something else might be soul. It might be our soul that actually feels the pain. Plants do not have souls, they don't feel the pain when burned, but animals have souls and they scream when get burnt. Even with modern advanced technology we can only observe the interactions taken place on our brain / neurons when we made certain decision or when we dream. Based on the similar patterns exhibited in bran cells, we can tell, to certain probability, that if the person is dreaming a cat and feel hungry. But it is not a proof that pain / pleasure taken place at brain cells, just like we can detect interactions of atom, but we can never see them. Breathing and blood pressure may change during a dream, but that does not mean dream takes place at heart or lung. Let us say when a person dies, every cell in his body is destroyed and become earth, molecules /atoms. There is no way to differentiate the atoms / molecules which made up your body from my body. If a person's body is re-created after The Judgement Day, that person shall be a totally new person and it is someone else, even same atoms were used to create that person, it will still be new person, different person. How can that person (new him) will be punished for the sins of someone else (old him) committed in this world? We eat and we drink so what made up our body keeps changing and they are not what really makes us what/who we are. Following this logic, I believe there has to be in the body that will remain and will be put into the new creation. Let us say it might be the soul. The same soul in the old body was responsible for the sins or decision making or desire, and when re-created within a new body, the same soul is what will suffer the pain for punishment. So Iblis, or Shaytan, likely have something like soul within his body/form, even he was created from fire, that actually feels the pain of burning. But this is still not what i want to point out. I feel the whole point people here feel Shaytan was sent as successor to this world is because Muslims are poor, living under poverty and oppression or war, at least in most of the parts of the world in present time, and Shaytan and his followers are ruling the world (really???I think the most powerful man in the world cannot even decide what happens in his backyard.), having much of the wealth. But how could this be allowed to happen to Muslims if God has created the earth and heaven with truth (2944)? The Book encourages thinking / reasoning. Shaytan, I think, saw or at least felt the presence of God, and believed in God without doubt. But believing in God did not help Shaytan, and it might not help Humans as well, if they do not follow the truth, with which everything was created. Khalifa in 230 has to mean Satan! I think this topic is totally waste of time. What if Satan is Kahlifa? What if he is not? Is the person who asked / wrote this, or anyone of us, is going to change his way of life because of the answer? Or was this a simple intellectual exercise? If The Book answered that question, it would not have been asked here. Many centuries have been wasted answering and pondering over what verses in The Book might mean, mostly to share his own / unique view / guesswork, and probably to feel good or superior about himself for having some insight or an enlightenment. What is behind this motivation for sharing personal view formed without evidence? Many people replied to this topic, stating his own view (including myself), obviously none of us have solid evidence to back up if Satan is or is not Khalifa. This is ignorance. It is ignorance to ask a question that serve no purpose. And it is ignorance to jump into debate or trying to answer what we do not know or do not help us. It is the ignorance that cause many things to be wrong with Muslims. And the root cause of this ignorance is the unwillingness to reason and investigate given evidence before forming a view/concept. Muslims countries, nations, people are suffering from wars, poverty, conflicts, and all of this is because of ignorance. The result of this ignorance is the wrong actions that people take based on the concepts / views that formed on half truth or limited truth. And somehow people hold onto or cherish these concepts too much for too long, and giving up these threatens their value system. Most people in this forum already disregarded The Tradition (Hadith) and only follow The Book. It now seems many do not know what to do with The Book, but spending most of their time guessing what some verses mean and try to develop new Tradition over the time. It is like Moses took the children of Israel to the straight path to God, and his followers asked for a calf to worship.
