Salam to all those who have submitted to the Will of God, I am still doing research on Ramadan - reading through other peoples understandings on this portal and reading understandings of other Quranists, it seems that Ramadan can be all the year round depending on one's translation and understanding. Due to a continuation of my own research on Ramadan and the fact that the traditional version has already arrived, I am now performing the traditional Ramadan - I am not in agreement with it's falling at the time that it does (I am tending towards a lunisolar calendar), but for want of a better period, I have decided to perform it now in this year. That is my personal and definitive decision but it is to explain my headache on my first fast here in the UK as I grapple with the meaning of Sujud. I understand and acknowledge the views of some who believe that the meaning of Sujud can differ depending on context, but (and I also stress that I am learning and open to an evolution in my understanding), I believe a consistent meaning would make more sense - at least to me - just like to me, SALAT defines well as CONNECTION in all instances. In any case, back to SUJUD. SUJUD could be translated as PROSTRATION (by many Hadithists - but also by many Quranists) but it could also be translated as YIELDING. My views and opinions are evolving on this but below are my current thoughts. Firstly, Yielding seems to be to be an intention whereas Prostration could to be a physical action or affirmation or manifestation of yielding. If someone yields, then it can be symbolized or shown by the act of prostration. However, in any case, whether one uses Yielding or Prostration, the following verses seem to conflict I refer to Fussilat 4137 - And of His Signs (are) the night and the day and the sun and the moon. (Do) not prostrate/yield to the sun and not to the moon, but prostrate/yield to Allah the One Who created them, if you, Him alone, worship. and al-Kahf 1850 - And when We said to the Angels, "Prostrate/Yield to Adam," so they prostrated/Yielded except Iblis. (He) was of the jinn, and he rebelled against the Command (of) his Lord. Will you then take him and his offspring (as) protectors other than Me, while they (are) to you enemies? Wretched for the wrongdoers (is) the exchange. If we are not to prostrate/yield to the sun or the moon but to Him who created them, then a reconciliation is needed as to why the Angels are ordered to prostrate to Adam who was created by God. I believe the reason could be to do with Adam having a free will to decide - whereas the angels did not, but I am still working on this and am undecided. If there are any views on the reconciliation of this by those who submit to God, I would appreciate it. In regard to why Joseph and his parents prostrated/yielded, this could actually have been a prostration/yielding to God - When Joseph first dreamt that the planets prostrated/yielded to him, he had not yet been taught the meaning of interpretation of events so it is likely that he mistook the prostration/yielding of the planets to God to mean they were doing so to Joseph. He then understands the true meaning when he sees the prostration/yielding by his family to God. In regard to Sujud while entering a gate, I do note that the Pope performs a prostration whenever he enters the gates of a new country/city. One could imagine that the Pope prostrates whilst entering new cities. Another purpose for the physical act of prostrating/inclining/bending other than manifestation of yielding could be to fall down - at least for the creation on earth this could be to return/incline to the earth. In relation to planets and stars, it could mean planets prostrate or incline to the will of God... I am going through all the instances of Sujud in the Quran and trying to reconcile in these days. As I say, my ideas are evolving on these issues and I do not see this portal as a place to post my already defined ideas in order to convince others but to discuss those that are in the process of evolution. Salam Ed I have posted this question elsewhere, but have not gotten any response. Can it be that this question has stumped even those Muslims who proudly go under the umbrella of intellectualism or those who are self-appointed Mullahs - whether of Hadithist or Quranist inclination?? I wonder if in due course we will see some people with a focused agenda using this as a repertoire under their belts to convince people that Islam is not a good faith. All I can understand is that perhaps those who do not have free will, can yield to a chosen man (Prophet or otherwise)??? If there are any views out there in the cosmos... Salam Ed

Peace to All, One of Dr. Kashif's supporting point is this in his long explanation of the translation of 4078. " (407 Dr. Kashif (Word to word correct translation of the verse 407 • ?And always our exalted message has been delivered before from yours, from them obtained our literature founded on yours and from them whatever drawn without deformity founded on yours and it was not for Rasool (message) that to befall with its verses except by authorisation of God, indeed when came God?s order justifying right and caused loss therein for those who are the deniers. • Compare Pickthall's. • 4078. Verily We sent messengers before thee , among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright , and the followers of vanity will then be lost . • In his translation, Dr. Kashif has translated 'rusulan' as 'message' as by justifications in his argument. At present I am not in a position to conclude he is right or wrong. I am hoping someone could give a full justification on a point to point basis why he is wrong or possibly right. Sorry, but I cannot make head or tail of the translation by Dr. Kashif, and certainly I cannot relate it to what is written in Arabic. As t the importance of the message. I think many of us agree that it is the message that is important, but to disdain the messenger is nonsense. Some people speak of him that he is a mere postman. The postman does not know what is in the message, but prophets do know which message they are ordered to transmit and not only that, the are the first believers in the message. So no postman, but envoy fron God. As to obey the messenger. The people who lived in his time should obey him as such messenger and nower of God's message, but not for any other reason. That is obvious. In the same way that if a work under somebody as chief, a must obey hi or her as such a chief, but not for anything unrelated to his or her function. As to now, obviously the prophet is dead nd he cannot order us anything at all. It is a bit late to be obediente to him. Salaam

Because it is translated as "a god" not as "God" lowercase is correct. But the verse rules out any shirk because at the beginning it says And He is the ONE who is a god ... (no other being, who may be worshipped as a god). So like in 1010 Their saying in it is "Be You glorified, our god!" And their greeting in it is "Peace," and the end of their saying is "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds!" It's lower capital because of the association for the pronoun "our god"? Understandable, thanks. I've noticed in 7924 "He" Uppercase capital is used for pharaoh but I see all verses start with a capital, had me wondering for a while but I got it now. Peace.

No, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about popular belief, aka sunni/shia one. I think you aren't fully familiar with how they interpret Quran. Their vocab is different. It is like If God says the Book wasn't new then in sunni shia religion it means the Book is new If God says the book is protected then it means Bukhari and friends are protecting it If God says don't make distinction among prophets then in sunni shia religion, it means make distinction among prophets We need a special thread for this D The question is as always that, in the end, who cares who or how something came into existence, but whether that thing is good or bad or in between and we come (I come) to the conclusion that what matters is the content, with hadith, with Qur'an with whatever, if what it says holds, good, if it doesn't, pedigree does not help, and if it does pedigree cannot undo it. So I do not know about the vedas, or how it has been preversed or not. I have read very little of them, and in the little a read there was something that did not ring true to me, but it was a translation. On the other hand, I have been reading and reflecting and checking a lot on other ancient or not so ancient religions and beliefs and I do corroborate there is only one religion from God and all so called religions in principle, can be traced to divine inspiration in conjunction with human receptivity. So, what if now was a copy of a Qur'an found that ws different from the one at hand? Again, look at the content. Does it say the same, if however in different form. Good. Does it contain falsehood and things that repel to a morally honest and open person? Well there you are. It always comes to the individual, to the inner honesty and sincerity of the prospective believer. That has been the trick always with religion as a mishandled social tool, instill in the people the idea that they are not the final judges of their own beliefs, but that there is some authority, some human authority they must hand their own inner purity in order to be good, and it works with anything to apply it to. So, finally, prooofs, proofs, weare the proof, each one of us. If the Qur'an was applied to predict whether tomorrow is going to be good wheather or to weight the meat the butcher, it owuld be useless, but it is applied to each of us. We are the proof, we are our own proof. We do not need experts to show us how stupid we are, neither orientalists, nor least of all, takfiris who think themselves trustees of God over others. Salaam Once again, its the shias and sunnis who believe unchanged words show the Book is from God despite the fact they like to reject it if they are not told from secondary sources how it was preserved. We came to Quran alone with the same preconceived notion. I did see disappointment from some users when they were told of book structure variation. I fully understand that. What I have realized is that the application of the Quran verses are the main key and not the style of it. OK, I get you. I keep thinking about Lut. He says you prefer men to women... I amm not hadithist but I am have to say that what hadithists say is, yes, owmen just for procreation, you should prefer men all over all the time. I am really starting to think Lut and his debauchers all over. Like Maryam another unknown because so carefully and throughly hidden behind well worn out stories. Salaam

As the Quran is a monologue between Muhammad and Jibreel. You will see such verses throughout the scripture, especially in the later chapters. However, regardless of the time of the revealed chapters, some verses are indeed directed specifically to Muhammad and his followers as well as Meccan Jews. The verses of medinan phase are especially prone to this "exclusivity". The meccan ononfulfil the other hand fulfil the idea of a revelation Truth that there is one god Warning of the fire Though I am still understanding the exclusivity of the medina verses and meccan chapers to mankind at all times. Just check one of my posts on the topic. ) Thus, I am yet in the position that regardless of the time verses were revealed, all is valid. But we need to Understand the context. Understand the historical context of certain verses (example - entire chapter 9). Correctly translating the book. Peace

Grammatical and syntactic analysis that explains and elaborates the semantic content embedded in the sentences. o It is a new sentence beginning with Recommencing/Conjunction particle . The verb-like-particle has suffixed third person, singular, masculine pronoun as the Subject of Particle. Arabic is an agglutinative language, the pronouns can occur as suffixes of nouns, verbs or prepositions. Therefore, Anaphora Resolution is vital to understanding the meaning of Grand Qur'aan. It means the problem of resolving what a pronoun refers to. In written or oral text anaphora can be thought of as ?pointing back or referring to something or someone mentioned earlier?. The entity to which it refers is called its antecedent. The process of determining the antecedent of an anaphor?lexical entity is called anaphora resolution. It is contrasted with cataphora that refers forwards, not backwards. The subject pronoun of verb-like particle, third person, singular, masculine is referent for Allah the Exalted. The predicate of verb-like particle is Prefixed Emphatic particle + Verbal Noun Indefinite; nominative. The prepositional phrase relates to the elided adjectival for . The following two injunctive verbal sentences are the dependent clause of the topic sentence as is evident from the prefixed conjunction particle which shows cause and effect , signifying "In view of the aforesaid fact, therefore,". It is suffixed with prohibitive particle. The verb is in Jussive mood, second person, masculine, plural and the suffixed Heavy Nun renders it futuristic, meaning, "Therefore, henceforth you people should not be curious and questing" and the prepositional phrase relates to verb and its object pronoun third person, singular, feminine is referent for . The sentence thus means, "Therefore, in view of the aforesaid fact, henceforth you people should not be curious and questing about it, the determined hour - the Moment." The next imperative verbal sentence comprising of verb, subject and object is conjunct to preceding sentences. The classical and later exegeses that attribute the elided direct object of imperative verb to Allah the Exalted have patently erred. Allah the Exalted is not the object of this verb since the irreducible feature of verb and its Root is to practically follow by will, design and affection in such manner that one moves or walks behind remaining adjacent to the one being followed/pursued so that there is no third in between the follower and the one being followed. "" It refers a calf walking behind his mother. The striking feature, individuality and peculiarity of this Root is the practical and physical aspect of following in action. The perception and meanings infolded in Root " " are distinct and absolutely different from that infolded in the Root " " which is translated by English word "obey"; and Root " " by English word "follow" by most of the writers. This is how both the Roots are inadvertently/incorrectly brought closer and at par, as if they both convey similar meanings. English word "Obey" means and conveys the perception "to do as told; be controlled by somebody or something" and the word "follow" means "to obey something, act in accordance with something or instructions and directions given by somebody else". It is thus evident that English word "obey" and "follow" are in proximity of synonymous and both refer to an act while Arabic Roots " " and " " are not synonymous and are distinct from each other. Arabic language is a scientific language and its Roots enfold all physical/scientific realities and facts relating both to matter and life. A deliberate act of practically and physically following is the result of will/decision and it can take physical execution only by retrieving data, information, instruction, injunction or saying already and previously saved in the memory. A physical act by one's own will and decision/choice reflects and demonstrates his acceptance and liking of the concept and purposes which that act will or is expected to yield. The basic perception infolded in Root " " is to accept an idea, or word, command, direction, injunction, saying, or verbal and written communication, wholeheartedly and affectionately by will and personal choice without external pressure/force/fear/ compulsion/coercion. The perception and meanings infolded in the Root " " is the physical demonstration of executing that accepted thing in letter and spirit, exactly in the manner as is told; to follow and move step by step, dot by dot, word by word; move and follow on the footprints of the one being followed. Nothing should intervene; including ones passions, interests, preconceived notions, desires and conveniences, between the follower and the followed, whereby one will satisfy and implement the perception of the Root and shall thus be the one who acted exactly on that which he had willfully and affectionately accepted. Root " " has a theoretical/ideological aspect while " " has practical/physical aspect/connotation. It means translating/ implementing into action what was accepted. This will also show and prove to others the truthfulness, faithfulness and sincerity of the person that he had accepted that concept/idea/fact/saying/news/Book truly and wholeheartedly. In sequence/time frame " " is after " " and not conversely. It is thus obvious that the main sentence is the object of elided verb You the Messenger pronounce. The following sentence is also a subordinate clause as it begins with a Demonstrative Pronoun referring to the act denoted by preceding verb. The predicate of nominal sentence is qualified by adjectival description, an active participle; it signifies The High Road that leads safely and stably to the destination of peace and tranquility. For reading about it in detail, please visit ayah 16-7. The pronoun, third person, singular, masculine which is the object of verb-like particle is referent to Allah the Exalted. The knowledge of the Hour is the predicate. To cross check please see They people keep asking You the Messenger about the Final Moment "What is its exact appointed time of anchorage?" You the Messenger pronounce "The certain fact is that its knowledge is a guarded secret only with my Sustainer Lord. None can disclose-lighten it with reference to its time frame except He the Exalted. It is a certain fact that Allah the Exalted is the One with Whom is the Knowledge of the Appointed Moment. Further refer 3363; 4147; 4385 Instead of pronoun here the subject noun of verb-like particle is Allah the Exalted and is the predicate.

Racism to me is a satanic(evil) arrogant ego and its infecting EVERYONE. 1761 And We said to the angels "Yield to Adam." So they yielded except for Satan, he said "Shall I yield to one you have created from clay!" And what the Lord of the Worlds (SWT) say about this 4913 O people, We created you from a male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Surely, the most honorable among you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is Knowledgeable, Ever-aware. Note from Edip Yuksel This verse unequivocally rejects sexism and racism and reminds us that neither male nor female, neither this race nor that race, is superior to the other. Recognition and appreciation of diversity is an important point in our test. The only measure of superiority is righteousness; being a humble, moral and socially conscientious person who strives to help others. See 434; 719; 2461; 3021; 335; 4817; 6012. And Dr Shabbir Ahmed Unfortunately even today, national or tribal origins, wealth, professions etc remain an important part of a person?s status instead of character. Recognition becomes especially important in a strange environment, matrimonial and travel etc. In the ancient times, the tribe one belonged to was the only means of identification. ?Min zakarinwwa untha? = Of a kind that is male, and of a kind that is female = Male and female = Some of you are men and some of you are women. On this note I find myself in agreement with M. Pickthall 396 396 He has created you all out of one living entity (from a single life cell) - and fashioned similarly its mate, male and female (699). And He has bestowed upon you livestock of eight kinds in pairs. (Sheep, goat, camel, cow - male and female, the common permissible livestock 6144-146). He creates you in the bellies of your mothers, creation after creation, in threefold depths of darkness (the abdominal wall, the uterine wall and the embryonic sac). Such is God, your Lord! Unto Him belongs the Kingdom. There is no god but He. How, then, can you sway like errant winds!

Dear Waqas, one more query. Since you just not only believe but seems to know that current Quranic translation/understanding is correct/true. Would you please share your understanding about how Quranic Suras are divided into verses? Following are few possibilities that one can think. At random. According to start of sentences either containing just one sentence or multiple sentences just like a modern day paragraph. Or if you know a third possibility? Please share it as well any evidence that how do you know it to be the case? Regards,

This information, mentioned in 7th century, negating any negative effect on Eyes and Vision of the Elevated Messenger Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam during the journey beyond the frontiers of our Universe to a Foreign Domain, is the irrefutable evidence that it was a physical journey as is now undertaken by astronauts in the near Earth space. yes you are right.. we just explored space at very low level with physical travel and we are still exploring it with our vision/huble space telescope too (again just observable universe) you can also gave an example of solomon times technology right now we are transferring images/words/videos from one location to another so its impossible for scientists to make a thing that transfer physical things from one place to another because the technology is using radio active waves and signals for transferring data so in near future they may able to crack it but still sooooo far away from solomon technology in this 21st century we have hints for the miracles that were already performed by messengers of God. we can only experience a part of it in this age like some descriptions are given below solomon technologies ( communicating with animals) / teleportation = modern day internet parting of sea = modern day bridges/underwater tunnels/dams lighting hand of moses= modern day electricity jesus raise the dead= modern day cloning/test tube baby jesus heal the blind= modern day laser operation even we have these miracles on smaller scale at todays age..

zigazigha, related to this through the word daraba is a message I posted recently https//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9609451.msg404046#msg404046 It may be interesting as a way of researching the Arabic vrb and how, from different side, the Qur'an has been turned into a colony of patriarchal influence and exegesis. Also you could search inthe forum for the many times that 4.34 has been dealt with. If you know Spanish I can give you very thorough exegesis of it as well as aritlces. Salaam Huruf, I know Spanish. If you have anything that might help me I would love to read it! Thank you!

The christians and jews amongst the arabs of course spoke the same language as those they lived with. 14.4 is in the past. Speaks of the messengers previously sent. As to 42.7 I really dont know what is Umm al Quraa, but whagtever it is, so many ayas of the Qur'an speak universally that there is no doubt that the Qur'an is sent to everybody who wants to listen or undertand. There is no christian language or jew language. On the other hand, the word 3araby did not mean necessarily back then what it means now. It meant clear, undestandable or eloquent as opposed to 3ajamywich I see trnaslated as foreign but which it is not foreign but as secondary meaning, its primary meaning is "unintelligible", unclear, confusing. So the Qur'an iiself underlines that it is understandable not obscure and needed of expalnation by "experts". Salaam

What is specifically forbidden with verse 4119 is a matter of a long debate. Sunni-Islam answers that kind of questions. Of course, nowadays, genetic manipulation comes into ones mind, because what is more a change of creation than this. Cutting off the ears of an animal is 1. painful for the animal, 2. affects the functioning. And we may not know all the effects the change of creation would have, as in case of genetic manipulation. But it is also translated with only "slit" the ears of cattle. In a german translation the word "verunstalten" is used for changing the creation (to disfigure/deform creation). This is another verse which mentions the change of creation 3030 Therefore, stand firm in your devotion to the true Faith, the upright Faith which God created for mankind to embrace. God's Creation cannot be changed. This is surely the right faith, although most men may not know it.

I had linked both the Roots long back Root ( &#1577 That it leads to the perception of visual comparability and correspondence of a thing with another thing. It is employed as figure of speech. In English it is described by the term Simile. A Comparison or Simile, is, when the resemblance between two objects is expressed in form, and generally pursued more fully than the nature of a metaphor admits. The advantage of this figure arises from the illustration which the simile employed gives to the principal object. It help explain something or make it easier to understand. Therefore, comparisons ought to be founded on likenesses which are too obvious. Faint and remote resemblances will strain the mind of the reader to comprehend them, and throw no light upon the subject. This Root is distinct from another Root and word that shares its aspect of comparison but in a different way and between a thing and phenomenon or hidden aspect of another thing, or abstract idea. Its equivalent term in English is Metaphor.

You could read this explanation of the system Surah 92 - Night 921 The night, when she lets fall her darkness, and by the radiant day! By Him that created the male and the female, your endeavours have varied ends! For him that gives in charity and guards himself against evil and believes in goodness, We shall smooth the path of salvation; 928 But for him that neither gives nor takes and disbelieves in goodness, We shall smooth the path of affliction. When he breathes his last, his riches will not avail him.

Oh no, I was talking about perfection. They make mistakes too. That's why, we can't expect them to have their lines straight. Using of one word repeatedly in a sentence or two is very common in the human world. Unfortunately, Trump is ruining it.These are his words We?re going to have professors and adjunct professors that are absolutely terrific?terrific people, terrific brains, successful. We are going to have the best of the best. ... These are all people that are hand-picked by me. We are sending an armada, very powerful. We have submarines, very powerful, far more powerful than the aircraft carrier. Yeah, that word certainly has magical ability. Another one is "best community". They all prevent people from understanding that they can be sometimes wrong. The notion they follow is that as long as you stay in the club, your seat in heaven is confirmed. No additional positive action is required. I agree with you on the meaning. I have liked trump, trumping himself very powerful... I have to acknowledge that rueles have always a benefit. They are the best source ofjokes for their tenure and even for many tenures after that. Terrific source of jokes. I wonder whether that is lready included in the job description and that is what has made trumpwin over hillary. When a ruler lasts a long timejokes come close to perfection, unlike angels, haha. The best community, chosen person, chosen people... they sort of trump (sorry) the content of the qur'an, this ordering of people as if first and second rate, whixh I find very displeasing and not quite in accordance with the individal judgment of goodness of heart and will for each person. Salaam
