I was in a mosque where they did see me performing ablution according to The Quran, 56 and they also saw me pray without raising the hands, holding them on my belly and aiming the finger at the sky and without the traditional saying salam to the right and left side. This cracks me up. I understand them witnessing your ablution, but how can they be praying themselves and also witness you not doing this or not doing that? If they were concentrating on their own prayers they would not even notice what you were doing or not doing. Or do they have the prayer police monitoring everyones move? > peace, dotty

That surely takes away from the idea of a greeting? I don't understand why you would plaster a generic greeting each time unless you well and truly meant it (and by that, I mean literally so, not just "I'm muslim so I'll use this&quot. I tend to hear what I'm writing in my head presumably like most/all other people, before it goes to paper/bytes and a hotkeyed greeting would detract from that. After all, the idea of the quranic greeting is the message - a declaration of peace, not the formalism?

I think it's fine as it is currently. We wanted stuff unrelated to God/Islam/Quran in the categories designed for them or the Off-Topic section. If you meant General discussion on God/Islam/Quran, that wouldn't be a bad idea... edit to add

There is also a news section here where you can discuss such news as one reads from news sites, which would probably be one's best bet for news such as in the link above.

The stars are really just the number of posts you've made on the forum. They start from 1 star to 5 stars. You have 2, because you have under 500 posts, if you go over 1000, you'll have 4 stars and 2000 for 5 stars. It's not a rating system in any way. thanks for explaining. I find that sad really. Like it's a popularity contest to be in a forum. It doesn't matter what you say, as long as people don't like you, you're done. No, here we have rules. to me I dont really view it as a popularity contest, however base on you explain, i understand why that feature was remove. I was thinking about how can one help eliminate the absolute authority of moderator over members and have more democracy. I thought such a rating system would help.

Yes. free-mind.org seems unable to post embedded video. I strongly will entourage this feature. it can be truly beneficial not only with video, but music, and sound as will.
