Number of wives?

zaydun to become greater, grow, become more, increase, compound, multiply, amount to more, exceed; Hans Wehr Arabic Dictionary page 451-452 (zada)
This statement does NOT exist in the Arabic of this ayah 'so when zaydun ended from her a need/desire (divorced) We made you marry her'
Better rendition......
33.37...qada zaydun minha wataran zawwaj nakaha li-kaa (for YOU)
Nonsensical, unclear, garbled, cryptic sentences, and does not fit context...
Wa-ith taqoolu lillathee anAAama Allahu AAalayhi waanAAamta AAalayhi amsik AAalayka zawjaka waittaqi Allaha watukhfee fee nafsika ma Allahu mubdeehi watakhsha alnnasa waAllahu ahaqqu an takhshahu falamma qada zaydun minha wataran zawwajnakaha likay la yakoona AAala almu/mineena harajun fee azwaji adAAiya-ihim itha qadaw minhunna wataran wakana amru Allahi mafAAoolan
3337 And when you say to who God blessed/comforted and eased on him...
Who is ?him? referring to in the verse ? excesses?
Who is ?you? referring to and answer; is below a person/name or a verb?
Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun...
3144 And Muhammad is not except a messenger... -

33.37......A decree or judgement has brought an end to the (previous) excesses] regarding (marriage to) your FEMALE's, the one SINGLE object of your desire is for YOU to marry one female.
This part of the ayah is clearly enforcing the mandate that all previous excessive and oppressive practices as it relates to women are over, done, 'nada'

salam,
I appreciate your enthusiasim and have absoutely no doubts regarding your passion and sinceriety towards learning or teaching, but sister , you have to take it easy, very easy at this stage. Because I find you erring and that also grossly, in most of your posts.
I sincerly hope that you take this advice of mine in the true spirit that i intend to convey.

To all the knowledgable sisters at this forum
I am quite sure , that you are in disagreement with Muslimtruthrvealed on some of her ideas that she has presented in this forum. But i find you all quite, just hushed up, in sisterhood, why is that so?
Is that an honest way to carry out learning? Isn't that against what GOD ordains, that you should not conceal what your hearts recognize as truth?
I am sure our sister MTR,,, would pecieve it differently, if one of you come forward and correct her instead of us.

Assalaam Alaikum @siki
First, point I am a male
Second, The females NEVER argue against the truth only the Men argue that they can have multiple wives.
Third, The Quran is the Truth.
You nor any other individual can show ANY errors in the Quran, ONLY in the errant translations.
Now show where I am in error
-
Assalaam Alaikum @siki
Please show the females you so desperately wish to remain 'enlightened' by false interpretations and translations, where I am 'grossly in error'.
I await your response.

Thanks God, half of the problem is solved.
Brother , picking out any alternate meaning of your suiting of an arabic word from the dictionary and replacing it in an ayaha? I am afraid , it does not work like that.

Assalaam Alaikum @siki...
Im not concerned about your personal opinion of me. Im concerned about your assertion that I am in error as it relates to polygamy / ploygyny.
Please respond with evidence not your personal sentiment, which has no value as it relates to the Quran.
I await your response.

Peace siki ? agree, regardless of ones stance on the issue the silence by the more knowledgeable members is perplexing especially with the out of context grammatical nonsense bandying about. A believer cannot remain silent when obvious mangling of Quran verses are being distorted...e.g.
O those who believe in the Prophet!
'Nonsensical, unclear, garbled, cryptic sentences, and does not fit context'?

We will address Sura 3.144 after clarifying Sura 33.37
Read in context starting from
Ya nisaa alnnabiyyi...
3332 You, the prophet's women (wives)...Perhaps translate the passage in a coherent thought or say if you do not agree with wives?
(٢ (٣ (٤ (٥ (٦ (٧
3337 Wa-ith taqoolu lillathee anAAama Allahu AAalayhi...
Lastly, we cannot continue until you first address what you posted earlier...
uuh excuse me, we are focusing on the arabic of the ayah NOT someone's translation. 'Zaid' s NOT in the arabic its 'zaydun'...a verb..NOT a noun.
Therefore, since you know Arabic ?grammar and dictionaries? according to German scholars, Hans Wehr et al, answer the simple question...
Is below person/name or a verb?
3144 Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun..
3340 Ma kana muhammadun...
4829 Muhammadun rasoolu Allahi

Assalaam Aalikum
Look folks, this is NOT an argument, nor an exercise in who can translate better or who knows arabic.
The topic is 'Number of Wives'.
I addressed the ayah Sura 4.3 from the Quranic Arabic grammar, then gave supporting references from the Quran from Sur'a 33.37 & 24.32 and 33.50.
ALL of my references clearly suggest and make it clear that Allah does NOT support the practice of polygamy / polygyny in regards to the Quran's instruction.
Now, you are free to enlist the assistance of anyone you choose to refute what I have shown from the Quran, its fine.
In fact, I host a room on www.paltalk.com 'Quran Says No Polygamy No Polygyny No Pimping'
Your invited to discuss the topic here or there.
I await your response.

Assalaam Alaikum @Nun
Again, its obvious you do NOT study the Quran in the language of the Quran.
Nisa does NOT mean 'wives'
When Allah refer's to 'wives' Allah uses the term 'Imraatan'
When Allah refers to (a gender neutral reference) 'mates' Allah uses the term 'azwajan'
Now again before I choose to engage you any further, lets get the basics down first.
Im still awaiting a response to my request regarding your translation of 33.37
Please showme the arabic statements for
- '3337 And when you say to who God blessed/comforted and eased on him...'
- 'him'

Greeting@Muslimtruthrevealed,
OK I'll be nice and ignore the know it all pseudo-intellectual comments.
I posted...
Ya nisaa alnnabiyyi...
3332 You, the prophet's women (wives)...The prophet's women (wives, plural in parentheses) whereas imraatu when referring to one.
Also was posted the entire context from 3332-37 including...
3337 Wa-ith taqoolu lillathee anAAama Allahu AAalayhi...
Do you disagree prophets had more than one woman/wife?
Also, why avoid not answering a simple question; is below person/name or a verb?
3144 Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun..
3340 Ma kana muhammadun...
4829 Muhammadun rasoolu Allahi

I hope it is admitted that divorce is given only to wife and not to mother and sister.
Pl see 6501,04 who are being given divorce "Nisa" or Imraatan.Peace Mazhar,
Good points above -- always read Quran in context and cross-reference to get best meaning.
