And those who say "Our Lord! Bestow on us
from our wives and our offspring
who will be the comfort of our eyes,
and make us leaders for the Muttaq?n" Those will be rewarded with the highest place
(in Paradise) because of their patience.
Therein they shall be met with greetings
and the word of peace and respect.
    (Qur'an 2574-75)

What does Muttaq?n mean? (sorry to sound ignorant, but I do not understand Arabic)

The Muttaqun are those that believe, fear Allah and look to what He has ordained in carrying out His actions to avoid His displeasure and sadness

Seeking to journey through life in security = Protect oneself from disintegration of the personality = Journeying in security = Being careful = Getting empowered against evil = Avoid overstepping the laws = Exercising caution = Preserving the 'self' against deterioration = Good conduct = Building character = Live a life upright = Fear the consequences of violating Divine Commands = Observing = Being mindful of the Creator = Remaining conscious of the Divinely ordained Values = Taking precaution = Being watchful against error.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

So it has many meanings depending on the context?

How is it depicted in the Quran?

              Here is another example;

              Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona

And those who guard their chastity,

              | - and those| - they/them/they are/those are | - null| - protecting/observing/guarding/ safekeeping (p) |
              30.

Illa AAala azwajihim awma malakat aymanuhum fa-innahum ghayru maloomeena
              ( &#1722
Except with their wives, those whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed,

              peace

So what is your stance on this?

I am not sure I understand the meaning. If you could tell me, in plain English, what your interpritation of that section is, maybe I can then answer your question (which I would love to do).

Furthermore, anyone who submits to God alone is a Muslim (Submitter).

some people say it means "God-fearing". I would say in basic terms "righteous, keeping the balance in society, following God's laws, conscientious, forethoughtful, etc. etc."

I'm not sure what a Quran only Christian is as most Christians would reject the Quran as it does not fit in with their belief in the trinity or the so-called divinity of Jesus, but I do know what a God-alone Christian is, or a One-God Christian, because I am one.

I agree, I am a non-trinitarian Christian, and I find no fault with the Quran or with Islam, but I am not Muslim in the modern understanding of the word but, of course am in the real meaning of the word.

So that makes you a God-alone Muslim? If so, you and most people on here (including the God-alone Christians).
