Raajah dear, I recommend you to take some confusion clearing pill. You are mixing me up with Wakas. Read my posts on Root System and rebut them if you have a single plausible reason.

      .

You mean to say rebut this one?

Qur'aan is composed with Arabic words. And all Arabic Words are derived from a Root, and each Root has a specific perception infolded in it. Anything relied upon other than the Root is just gossip and conjecture

        Quote
Dear would you please let me know that gentleman who thought or said Qur'aan is from Root

        Dr. Mingana to name one.

Without quoting the name of the Book/Theses/Source/Link this is called just throwing a name in the air. I don't think he was/is also a out of mind gentleman to think Qur'aan is from . Please quote some sensible person/lexicon or just go through the Qur'aan and see that could it mean anywhere even near to Qur'aan.

One should not feel shy to admit if something went on air due to misunderstanding or confusion.

What ever I stated it is on the thread.

Quran reaches its real Syriac root of qeryn (quryan, QRYN) which refers to 'religious reading'.

I was talking of Dr. Alphonse Mingana

I am sure we can help each other in learning to better understand and comprehend Qur'aan, if we move gradually in proper sequence of Qur'aan. Howere I have studied a little bit of this Root.

                Root

if i can read it correctly i see a hamza over here

I think there was no hamza in the Classical Arabic of the Koran, correct me if i am wrong. It had to be added so to fit the -later

Hamza is not one of the 28 "full" letters, and owes its existence to historical orthographical inconsistencies in early Islamic times. In the Phoenician and Aramaic alphabets, from which the Arabic alphabet is descended, the glottal stop was expressed by leph, continued by Arabic alif.... To indicate that a glottal stop, and not a mere vowel, was intended, hamza was added diacritically to alif.

                  He says this
"23 There is not much doubt in my mind that the word Kuran is imitated from the Syriac Kiryan. All the Biblical lessons to be read in the Churches are called by the Syrians Kiryans. The Prophet called simply his book by the word that was used to name the pericopes of the Revelation in the Christian Churches of his day. We should also remember that in the oldest MSS. of the Kur'an the word is simply written which may be, and has already been, read Kur'an or Kuran without hamzah. I suspect that this reading of the word without hamzah is reminiscent of an earlier pronunciation Kuryan or Kiryan (with a ya&#039 and that the hamzah pronunciation is a late reading adopted to make the word more Arabic and in harmony with the root of the verb kara'a. "

He seems to be merely a wanderer, and guessing things.

But I quoted about Hamza from wikepidia brickwall

even though i am a critic of Dr.Mingana but to call him a wandrer and his work a guess work is far cry. You also have passed almost same remarks about Imam Bukhari, we can disagree with his methodology(though it was the best available at his time) but say "Bukhari type of people" or undermine his reserach work is just too much and can only be done by an amateur mind.
My eyes are open what you need is to open your brain.

Alphonse Mingana (born as Hurmiz Mingana, 1878 Sharansh, village near Zakho, Ottoman Empire (present day Iraq) - died 5 December 1937 Birmingham, England) was an Assyrian theologian, historian, orientalist and a former priest who is best known for collecting and preserving the Mingana Collection of ancient Middle Eastern manuscripts at Birmingham

Would you like to tell us where the Syriac language got it's roots from?

offcourse you know the answer and furthermore this has nothing to do with present post of mine, any how this is the laymans information

Syriac began as an unwritten spoken dialect of Old Aramaic in northern Mesopotamia. The first evidence we have of such dialects is their influence on the written Imperial Aramaic from the 5th century BC.
All the Semitic languages' are built up from triliteral roots that is, the great majority of the words are derived from a simple verbal form, of which the essential elements are three consonants.
The Syriac alphabet, which derived its letters from forms ultimately akin to those of the Old Hebrew and Phoenician alphabets, has the same twenty-two letters as the Hebrew.

                                Far

Do you ally yourself with such people? According to hadith science one wouldn't accept the words of such people so readily. Quran 496

again this is not what is being discussed. Did I said I ally with him? this only tells you jumped in without reading the posts

For every moment in time there is/was a book. Aflatoon did not benefit from the Book of his time, instead decided to roam about at his own in all fields circularly, in the hope to find some truth, with the result that one never gets the Straight Path given in simple words by the Book. The Book is sublime and is The Guide, rest is unending "Gup Shup".

If anything else is gupshup then why use intellect? why use experience?

Quite a contradiction in your statement.

Thanks, since gup shup exists in abundance in the atmosphere/society we live in, therefore, intellect has to be applied to differentiate between scum and the fact, and that is basic job and function and purpose of intellect.
