The salat Ritual..Where does it come from..

Salaams Sangkancil, All
well, my bad..I shouldn't use the word "reject"..actually isn't that I don't believe that Bible also have the words from Allah and its totally wrong...What I was trying to say is...I think It is much better to take Quran alone (thats what I believe) as a guide for me to avoid myself from being misguided...But I do read bible (not only bible, but also hadith and even the book called "the teaching of Buddha") to learn and understand about other religions or other people's belief...Its the same reason why I don't take "Hadith" as a book of guide for me..it contains a a lot of things that can get us misguided to take it as a guide for us..I need to admit that my knowledge of Quran isn't yet that good that I can accept some other books as a guidance for me..So, for that reason I believe its much safer for me to only take Quran as a book of guidance for me...
I used to believe in Hadeeths that were supposed to be Muhammad's (PBUH) but now I don't.
I am talking about the position of the "Quran alone" believers. The Quran "alone" talks about Al Injeel, Al Tawrat, Musa, Bani Isra'eal, etc.. and many other things that I, personally, cannot relate to! Well ok, I can?t reject Al Injeel or should I? Since parts of it are clearly not God's words. So what am I to do with it or with the Ayat that speak about it? Why is Allah telling me something about something I have nothing to do with? What is my responsibility here? Can I assume that only parts of the Quran is necessary for me now, for my life, while the rest is just history?
I can go on but this maybe too much for now so ... later.
Peace,

Peace,
thanks for correcting me PRIEST_BOKMEIGood deal.
It is my understanding that, Allah, has referred us to the prior sciprtures, not so that we can follow them for guidance, as we do with Al-Quran, but to find a particular piece of information them. What is your understanding?

The salat ritual was actually from a Syrian Othodox Christian
The salat / contact prayer are always commanded by God to previous ummah. Read about karaites jew, they still do the 'full prostration'.
http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karaite_JudaismIn the Quran the prescribed shalat is 3 times a day, just like the jews doing their daily "Daven".
they pray 7 times a day instead of 5 times
Prophet Dawd / David (pbuh) praise and pray to Allah 7 times a day... u can read about this in one section of Psalm....
Prophet Daniel (pbuh) praise and pray to Allah 3 times a day facing Jerusalem, u can read about this in Daniel book....Allah knows best..

Peace,
salamun alaikum all
The real fact is that, The creator of this universe has given us only one book which is "Al-Quran" which is the operating manual of the most complicated machine on this earth human created by The God, having proper operating procedures, truoble shootings and remedial. This book is for all time and ages. it can't be confined to a particular time period. It is not a book of history as has been mentioned at least 8 times in quran that it is not "asateer-ul-awwaleen", and 2110 tells us us that it is for us present continious time, the preriod we are living in.
The word
kitab
means written one, weatehr a line, a sentence, a para or a booklet or a detailed complied binding. so "books" plural refers to each ayat of quran and does not mean any previous scriptures by the name of Injeel, torat, zaboor. These are atributed names of Allah's book like
furqan", burhan, sultan, haq, rehmat, hikmat, zikr etc, re tese also some separates books, whereas Allah has said that his words his ls never changes, so why deos he needs to reveal different Books? All those ordered ayats are calld as torat and their sermon is injeel and zaboor is pieces of differnt instructions or part of Book.
Nowhere in Quran it is stated that Moosa was given Taurat, instead Moosa was given the Book. The book is present all the time and all the messengers gets understanding from the book by Allah and presched to masses according gto the situation which is the main assignment of a messenger, and messenger will continue , there will be no end..Saleem

SaLaM Taj
do you think that we should completely reject the teachings in the Bible and Torah?
No. Those are the books of God. They have been changed or altered just like the Quran has been changed or altered. God asks us to follow the truth where ever we find it. This includes Injeel and Torah.

Peace be with you all,
I hope this will help you in arriving to some conclusion wink .5 Al-maidah-
44-Lo! We did reveal the Torah, wherein is guidance and a light, by which the Prophets who surrendered (unto Allah) judged the Jews, and the rabbis and the priests (judged) by such of Allah's Scripture as they were bidden to observe, and thereunto were they witnesses. So fear not mankind, but fear Me. And barter not My revelations for a little gain. Whoso judgeth not by that which Allah hath revealed such are disbelievers.46-And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary confirming the law that had come before him We sent him the Gospel therein was guidance and light and confirmation of the law that had come before him a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.
47-Let the people of the Gospel Judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed they are (no better than) those who rebel.
48-To thee We sent the Scripture in truth confirming the scripture that came before it and guarding it in safety; so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed and follow not their vain desires diverging from the truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have We prescribed a Law and an Open Way. If Allah had so willed He would have made you a single people but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute.
take care.

What are you guys talking about???
If you reject the hadith, to follow the Quran ALONE, then reject everything else. Even the Quran FORBIDS any other source of Islamic knowledge. It is just as idiotic to follow the torah, or injeel, or bible, as it is to follow the hadith blindly. And it'll land you a free pass to hell, as the Quran says.
And the Quran hasnt been changed. Allah has protected the Quran from that. It does have minor (very) changes like a few letters. But the message has remained the Same. The other books have been altered by the people. Those books arent to be trusted. That was the whole purpose of the Quran in the first place.

Assalamu alaikum
I dont know much about the earlier scriptures, but how can u read them in purpose of guidance if u dont know whats the words of God in it and whats been changed?
-
Peace be upon you all,
As with any book, we must verify what we read. Take your focus out of books ad place it on Al Kitab (Divine law), the only important book.

SaLaM Amatuallah
Your name reminds me of a friend i had. Very intelligent. Had big things planned for her life. An awesome person
Ok, to your question. When i read the Torah, i try to verify what i read. The truth is repeated in all the scriptures of God. The more you do this, the better and easy it becomes for you to spot the BS from the guidence.

Even though the truth is repeated, how can we know that these words are really the words of God? The earlier sciptures has been corrupted so even the words which match with the meaning of quran can have been changed alittle maybe..? I cant see any meaning to seek guidance from any other scriptures than quran.

Peace be upon you ,
Al Kitaab, the universal Law, is never altered.
-
Peace be upon you Jaxal,
That would be THE Kitaab, whose signs are from the horizons to within our minds/spirits(nafs).
We cannot go wrong when we deal with objective verificaton.
-
Peace be upon you,
It is a book that is above names. Names are only needed to seperate on thing from the other, but this book "leaves nothing out" and is "fully detailed". It has no name, just like the God, who only has attributes.

Thats true, there are different mushafs (scriptures, books) but the quran can never be changed. So which mushaf do u believe in, how can u know which mushaf is the right one?
